Got my 2012 to 135mph twice on an airport in SE Oregon. So ooo smooth! I know that she had plenty left, but was happy with that number. Been my single rider bike for six years now. Highly recommend them 🏍
160 is really fast on a bike. i have friends with R1s that will go over 200mph, but they are not fun to ride after a few hours on the road. the fjr is a beautiful blend of speed and touring. the fjr is fit for a long trip with speed and looks to boot. i road mine all day long on several week long vacations with switchbacks and it is a luxury/sport/touring bike. it well out performs the touring bikes and is way more comfortable than the sport bikes. yamaha has dialed in a great machine with the fjr. i'm currently shopping for my second fjr.
The engineers where like: hey this bike is getting too good… we should do something stupid on it. And they went and put the battery in the front fairing… Honestly that ruins it for me. Even oil and filter change is easy… why the hell they put the battery there? On my cbr f4i you flip the key in the back, pop the seat and there it is. What a nightmare what they did on the poor fjr

I've been trying to keep away from sport touring bikes to avoid the desire to speed. But I'd be lying if I said this isn't my dream bike anymore. It still is. (sigh)
I have the 2007 ,amazing bike the pulling from 120 to 180 is the same from 180 to 240 .........260 and you don't hear a thing from engine or frame noise
160mph is fast enough for me lol.😂 Nice reliable comfy sports tourer that's happy at those speeds is perfect for me. Unfortunately i live in the UK so can't really do that much ..

Da gabs bis auf ne R6 keine anderen Verkehrsteilnehmer . Aber mit Windschild oben, gings locker an der kreischenden Möre vorbei 🤣 Hab ich nie mehr gemacht . Bin wohl zu alt für diesen Scheiß 🙈

The FJR 1300 is not a top Speed SuperBike, it is a Cruising and Touring Bike for long Distanz. It is a Bike to Drive Across Europe or America, not for the fastest lap on Nürburgring
I rode from the Black sea to Bedford UK in 24 hours on my 2005A ABS, 1930 miles. Yamaha state 80mph max with full luggage but I found 120mph max with panniers and top box carrying 40kg, any faster the handle bars shake.
An 80mph max would be highly irresponsible engineering as I've seen freeway speed limits as high as 85mph in Texas. 80 is just basic cruising speed in nevada.
What year was your FJR1300 built? Because mine is from 2007 and I can't find a place that could do my engine ecu flash in the Netherlands. They can only do it with newer generations.

The fjr1300 will stay side by side with a r1 for a little while as well as pull away from an r6.

OMG, the pull from 200 km/h up is incredible. Makes slowing to 120 at the end seem like 50 km/h. What year is this FJR?

I have one, manufactured 2002 1 st gen, top speed is about 270 kmh...
In a few day if lucky gonna buy a 2002 in black without abs just wanna ask 2001 and 02 dont have the glovebox?

My Gen II has an oversized windshield. I'd have have to deal with that. I have 5 gears....you can hear the motor asking for the 6th.
I don't think so. Just Americans used to lazy engines. The Yamaha engineering is second to none.

I have a 2006 RP13 and I would have liked a 6th gear too. The engine has enough torque to be in low revs.
