Yeah you're essentially required to have a brittle crown or ghors or roll of pennies, to get into higher levels faster. Even then, it's just a sidegrade to the normal RoR2 gameplay, since you sacrifice a chance of getting the right items for an ability to overlevel your enemies.

Tbf, it would be a pretty cool item if it gave a lot more money. Like, if it gave you like 10 chests worth of money right away, so you can just rush through every stage would be worth the red imo. At least if you found it early. But as it stand - like, 2 chests worth of money and some change is just awful. But honestly, I would rather it be a red than green or white, simply because I don't see it in basically any of my runs, which is good :D
Longstanding Solitude actually gives you way more XP than you're letting on. First time my friend picked it up in a game with me we were level 50+ by the end of the first loop (because yes, it also shares the experience in multiplayer. So much for balance.) and you can easily hit max levels within half the second loop. Sure after that its pretty bad, but of you find a clensing pool you're golden. Plus you'll start getting scavengers after that so thats still plenty of items.
yeah longstanding solitude is actually a or s tier disputed clearly hasn't played around with it. when you have a brittle crown with it its becomes and sss tier item and is a free win.
did you guys just not pay attention during the whole “XP works based on this logarithmic function”, and also that it only upgrades HP, regen, and base damage, but damage is usually better focused by damage items which multiply, because multiplication is more important than addition. additionally health and health regen shouldn’t matter as you should have a tougher time/safer spaces and have found some decent healing items, nobody relies on their base regen for their main source of healing and your health increases doesn’t matter as enemies damage always out scales your health anyways. your argument of it giving you more levels is right, but levels as a mechanic are far less useful than items, your better off not hard capping the items you can earn for something arguably worse. additionally stuff like XP tokens do not transfer between stages which means if you were to get to level 10 stage one and leave after getting 7 chests those additional 3 tokens are wasted, especially in looped runs when the only amount of items you can get would be 99 UNLESS you find a lunar pool, at which point it m i g h t be useful for reaching level 99 quicker but realistically going that far for level 99 just realistically isn’t worth it, items >>> levels, choosing to hard cap items for levels is just silly
Another interesting fact about Luminous Shot! Loader is a pretty good candidate for it since even without backup mags, you can grapple into the air (hitting nothing) to build charges, swing your primary at literally nothing, and then have it apply on your next charged punch!
loader is one of the few survivors where it’s actually kinda useful and i tend to pick one up if i can, especially cause i tend to stack backup mags to create spider-loader
Actually about solitude, the xp it gives is always 10% of your bar for every 25 gold (scaling with time so 1 chest worth). Because of that it can level you up decently fast even later in a run, though stacking it lowers the conversion rate of gold to xp by a lot
You do realize that that means it's making you get ten times the gold per chest that you would normally need, in exchange for a little bit of xp which usually doesn't matter unless you lean really hard into the build in which case you're losing out on a ton of damage items to get money items just to make it usable. The item is pretty bad
@@reedlewis2968 oh yeah it's definitely slower than normally buying things, I was just pointing out that it's not terrible at giving you levels (especially when you reach the point after looping once or twice where any enemy drops a good couple chests worth of money)
@@reedlewis2968 The xp _does_ matter though. Just try the item. You get so many levels that your base damage skyrockets. I think most players just don't realize how much levels can actually matter, because in a normal run you're ending around level 20-30. Now imagine ending a no-loop run at level 50-60. Solitude can easily multiply your damage as much as a Shaped Glass or more, at the cost of some items. And if you start looping, you get so many level ups that looting becomes easier and easier.
16:25 I don't know why I laughed so hard at the way you delivered the log book entry. It sounds like 1 guy who's amazed that you can touch it instead of 2 guys arguing over who should touch it
If knockback fin stunned the enemy I wouldn’t mind it as much, but the fact that a beetle guard can still hit you with his long range attack option is just bullshit and not intuitive at all.
I'm sad this wasn't covered in the video, but it's small, so I get it. There's a bug with Unstable Transmitter that sets enemy explosions triggered by it to be player aligned. This means enemies will take even more damage upon reaching 25% health, as well as harming others in the vicinity, all while the player is completely unscathed. It's such a god awful item, it is beneficial to the player when enemies have one.
@@icetide9411I have yet to run into one of these and I literally can not wait until it happens, I’ve seen a clover printer and a symbiotic scorpion printer before ever seeing a prayer bead printer
Luminous shot is kinda crazy on Loader though, since her secondary only needs to recharge if it hits, but still counts to charging Luminous Shot, even if it misses. So the technique is if you have a little bit of time inbetween encounters to sling your arm around like a yoyo a few times for your next hit to deal a buncha damage
Don't get me wrong, this DLC has horrible items, but how is Longstanding Solitude the worst item in the game? If you get Ghor's Tome or Pennies with it, you can outscale everything immediately. You absolutely need to try it more. It's been singlehandedly giving me god runs with very little effort lol
oh wow you can outscale everything immediately for the first two stages that's so great oh wow but at what cost?... 70% less items, damn that's a super duper great deal if you ask people that only play on drizzle
@@zeibertronic i tried this on monsoon and worked flawlessly, at stage 3 i was already 20 levels above the enemies, although i think it's better for at least 2 loops or more, also good in multiplayer because everyone will share experience
@@zeibertronic funny you mention drizzle, when you probably have never played eclipse. Longstanding solitude is absolutely broken. In multiplayer it is the best item in the game and it's not even close. Even in solo this item is sooooo good, and every single thing disputed said was completely wrong about it he just doesn't want to explore it at all clearly
@@zeibertronic It's so good with a brittle crown, it basically has no downsides. You level up super fast and on the first loop you can usually consistently full-loot 3 or 4 stages, after that you're level 80-90 so you don't really need more items. Absolutely broken item
I think you’re sleeping on Longstanding Solitude. I have taken it and easily gotten to max level (94) with a single loop. It’s a lunar and like all lunar, they are situational and if you take them outside of the situation then yes they are usually detrimental. You take this item generally on Stage 4 or Stage 5 if you are going to Mithrix. He cannot take your level ups away, and you can gain massive levels on the Moon, making Stage 4 Mithrix much safer. Finally, if you are looping you take this item once your build is OP and/or you find a Cleansing Pod. After a certain point you no longer need items. This item also works well with Sonorous Whispers. Growth Nectar is the only non-White item (not a Pearl) that gives passive movement speed buff. It’s insane and if you can trigger it it’s one of the best Red items in the game.
I second this, Longstanding Solitude has taken me to LvL 94 on a run with artifact of sacrifice. I wanted to see how it would fare if purchases were mostly removed from the equation and it does have potential.
9:40 With warped echo, I know you said it can give you up to double the value on Medkits, but that's not always true. While both the warped echo and medkit timers both start at the time you get hit, the medkit timer is RESET if you get hit again before it actually heals you, but warped echo's timer isn't. This means if you get hit with a continuous source of damage (oh idk, maybe like a laser beam from a new boss or something) for 1.1 seconds straight, you will take the initial damage, wait 1.9 seconds, take the warped echo damage, and then wait ANOTHER 2 seconds before you get a medkit heal. So while warped echo CAN give you double value on medkits, there are circumstances where it can destroy you by extending the medkit timer by nearly double. Not to mention that this effect can get even worse with multiple stacks, and that it can give enemies a free way around your one-shot protection in long runs. I always avoid picking it up just in case I end up relying on medkits for healing, since nothing feels worse than having your medkit timer extend for like 6 seconds.
As much as I hate this item it is worth clarifying that, no, Warped Echo does not allow enemies to bypass OSP. It checks to see if the original hit would have procced OSP, and if so it caps each hit to a maximum of 45% of your HP. This is also assuming that the item actually works, which it seemingly hates doing. Still terrible, though.
The only time I've used Growth Nectar was in the middle of an FMP run, so I already had a truck full of buffs to keep the nectar buff up 100% of the time. Outside of that run, I rarely see it active
Idea on how to buff Unstable Transmitter: You deal more damage with an explosion (to proc bands at least), you teleport to the safer place (least amount enemies around and no void field), all enemies on the map get stunned for a couple of seconds and you get invulnerability frames for a couple of seconds ( like Dio's Best Friend). So it's kinda a green variant of Dio's Best Friend on cooldown, ah yes, make a lesser cooldown.
Genuinely gonna have to disagree with the ranking of Longstanding Solitude, although its very mediocre, in the runs I've played with it, it feels more similar to an item like Libra from The Binding of Isaac. The lower quantity of items usually means I don't end up super powerful, but the extra levels it gives actually do make a sizable difference, and I never really found myself being outscaled by the enemies even with minimal powerups or items.
So for longstanding solitude, I’m not saying that it is good, but I have reached level 94 because of it, though I did softlock in golden coast because I couldn’t unlock the pillars due to being at max level
Prayer beads are absolutely NOT bad. If you find a prayer bead printer near a scraper and have a long-standing solitude, you just win. Also, long-standing solitude plus a brittle crown lets you literally out-level the enemies.
prayer beads are only bad cause of how the are bugged. also dont justify an item being good just cause you can print them thats way too rare to give any merit to the item
@@bootstrap925not every item gives infinite effects from simply reprinting the item like beads, it’s not infinite stack it’s using like 2 beads to get infinite stat boost
honestly aegis is better because 1. war bonds is an economy item, meaning that its only good in the early game, and because it's a red, youre not gonna get it in the early game 2. Aegis can still actually synergize with items like Bustling Fungus on engi and the godbuild with Tincture 4. war bonds is outclassed by ghor's tome, and while Aegis is technically outclassed by Topaz Brooch, brooch stacks awfully in the late game which Aegis at least has over that, it stacks way better
My understanding of long standing solitude is it makes everything more expensive so you get more money from things which leads to more experience for better levels why they even needed to include that in its description is a mystery to me
I like how there is a genesis loop, which is already unpopular item because it has anti-synergy with delicate watch and potion, and then gearbox added item which not only anti-synergizes with watch/potion, but also with gloop itself bc of teleportation mechanic. Its actually feels like they just asked chatgpt to generate new items, why i see so many people defending those?
Spoiler for number 1 He's actually completely wrong about Longstanding Solitude only giving about 2 or 3 levels. The gold gain increases with difficulty mean you continue to gain experience quickly and with even 1 Ghor's tome you'll be eating levels up like crazy. HOWEVER it still manages to be bad because in a matter of just a few stages I've jumped from 30 to 94. Then what happens at 94? YOU HIT THE INTEGER CAP AND STOP LEVELING. That's right, LSS will stop you from opening any further chests until you manage to find a cleansing pool and god forbid you forget and visit the gilded coast. Furthermore it also locks you out of charging the pillars for path of the Colossus. It's wild to me that he was completely wrong about Longstanding Solitude yet still correct in it being a contender for #1 because of the way it can just lock you out of further item progression or even just strand you in the Gildes Coast.
Fun fact: Longstanding Solitude can potentially soft lock you in specific stages due to how the item works, especially when going for the Golden Coast (probably forgetting the stage name). If you reach the max level of 94, you can't get anymore free purchases, and if you level up too much, you can't make anymore purchases on chests or interactive altars. Awesome item for Artifact of Sacrifice to quickly max your level for all available bonuses, but it will swiftly out stay it's welcome when you max your level and cannot purchase anything until you find a cleansing pool.
Interesting fact about Luminous Shot, it has an oversight where if you do m1 and it whiffs, your next attack WILL trigger the charge attack (not only other skills, stuff can ATGs can also trigger it as long as you have whiffed m1 beforehand). Its really cool and makes the item much more usable on character like acrid with the m2 projectile.
longstanding solitude and prayer beads are honestly pretty goated. prayer beads have a separate levels than the player, when you pick it up it starts at level 1 like how the player would and levels the same way. So a player could be level 20 and not level up by the time prayer beads have leveled up to like level 10. If you scrap it it's just free HP, regen, and base damage. You make it seem like the benefits of leveling up is not worth sacrificing the items with longstanding solitude but you level up so quickly that your base damage is crazy. Then if you get a cleansing pool you can get the regular amount of items and they'll be even better. It clear bro has been down patching and not playing with some of these items lmao And something like noxious thorn could be goated too if slightly tweaked, if they actual give +1 to enemy debuffs then they'd be pretty solid. The antlers will probably always be dooky though lol
Fun fact: Luminous shot will proc as ANY of your attacks hits an enemy. For example, if you shoot Acrid’s alt fire and press primary fire as his alt fire hits an enemy, it will proc luminous shot.
No joke I toggle the SotS content off unless I want to go to the Prime Meridian, the majority of new items are COMICALLY bad. If you told me nobody at Gearbox had actually played this game before starting to make new content for it I'd believe you. Even then they clearly didn't play it much because of all the Bugs!
I'm just gonna post this here bcz I'm bored and wanna share this little story (also bcz I got reminded of it seeing growth nectar on the list) Me and my friend were on stage 4, abyssal depths, we had just opened the legendary chest with a sale star, boom, Growth Nectar (and Desk Plant I think). We sighed, "Oh no way two red scrap!" said my friend with top-tier sarcasm, "We're gonna get a vultures trust don't scrap it" I said with confidence. Skip to stage 5, Helminth Hatchery, I stumble upon a chance shrine and hack it with my beacon, boom red, the dopamine hit from the chance doll sound effect courses through my brain, but then, dopamine overload! It was a vultures! We both freak out, I was ready to go to the convenience store to get a lottery ticket. But then, something even crazier happens. I open an equipment barrel with a sale star, two Disposable Missile Launchers, "neat" I thought to myself, I pinged the two equipments "This is a sign, we're gonna get an I.C.B.M" said my friend, I just rolled my eyes, fully convinced he was jinxing it. “What an idiot,” I thought, holding onto my trusty Forgive Me Please. “We’ll never get an I.C.B.M.” We decide to loop and find ourselves back on Titanic Plains. Everything seems to be going pretty normal so far, until MyFriend134 has found Pocket I.C.B.M (Shipping request form) I couldn't believe it, my friend couldn't believe it. I stared at the screen, dumbfounded, while my friend was just as stunned. We both lost it. And that dear comment scroller is the story of how me and my friend became billionaires off of roulette tables
I can see Longstanding Solitude being pretty decent on simulacrum. You aren't missing out on items thanks to the free potentials between waves, and the free purchases would help a lot in looting chests since early in a run you typically don't get enough money to open all of them
burh these items need to be hella reworked they all suck. Being Honest here Unstable Transmitter has not killed me once, only saved me from swarms or from random Elite Elder Lemurian Snipes so I think it kinda good. When you get to 25% health you are on the edge of death and this item can save you from losing the run but yes it could also just kill you when you were fine. I can see both sides of the argument.
For the Nectar, I’m 90% sure that anything that has a “stack” doesn’t count as a buff, so bands would count as a buff, but something like desperado wouldn’t.
I know using mods isn't a fair example, but there's a mod that adds an "Artifact of Dropping" that just lets you drop items whenever. Prayer Beads is hilariously powerful with it.
another thing about longstanding solitude is that the level fully caps at 94, making all future purchases impossible, including things like the pylons on gilded coast. longstanding solitude also completely cuts off halcyon shrines, a major part of the dlc by making progress on them impossible even without the level cap
Luminous Shot does work on Railgunner Using on their special while it’s un-scoped does consider it as a “primary attack”, so you can use the scoped shot a bunch, then use an unscoped primary Those of you that will say “but you can’t headshot” - you can, you just won’t have the reticle highlight on the target’s head
On Railgunner you can use luminous shot by quickly scoping in and shooting with the smg shot which counts toward the item, then you can use the charged unscopped version of the Rail gun and that counts as a regular attack.
Luminous Shot is actually really good on Railgunner because both Supercharge and Cryocharge activate the effect as long as you don't use your scope when you pull the trigger. The same is also true of Huntress's Ballista. The term "primary" is pretty loose when it comes to this item, it basically means any time you press m1 even if pressing m1 at that moment won't fire your primary. I'm pretty sure that that means Captain's Orbital Probe and DIABLO Strike will work with it too, but I haven't tried it on him yet. edit: Ok I tried it on Captain and it does work with both Orbital Probe and DIABLO Strike.
I think you're sleeping on longstanding solitude. Stacking and combining it with roll of pennies and bittle crown (which completely negates the downside) makes you level up like crazy and outscale the enemies. The gold cost increaing probably is due to multiplayer because if you stack it, you gain tons of unlocks and can even buy for your friends. Image 10 unlocks per level and your teams gold: it would've been busted and you could've advanced stages very fast. At first I thought it was really bad, but now I think it's one of the most busted lunars ever.
I agree, bad items are important for the balance of item rolls and pacing and to prop up the good items - but it has to be said that bad items need to _try_ to be good. Stealth kit is a bad item but it CAN help you, I personally have had a run or two saved by a stealth kit activating, and most importantly it _never_ hurts to have. That's also why I think damage-taking items are _ok,_ they're just in case you start fucking up thing, help you bounce back in a tough moment or otherwise help you stay ahead if you make it through. I agree that they _must_ synergize with self-damage builds otherwise it's incentivizing bad habits, and especially no self-damage item should be a white. Thorn might be ok if it worked on self-damage and, you know, actually functioned, so it'd synergize with a method of self-damage and bleed/debuff builds. Idk, I guess with all these taking-damage items, maybe if there were more consistent and better ways to self-damage so there'd actually be player agency and risk/reward in going for that kind of build? Idk man. Transmitter is basically worse Loop and worse Stealthkit, and it fundamentally fails at the intentions and advantages of either item.
on items that trigger on you taking damage: every other item before the dlc that was based on you getting hit was either guaranteed or based on an HP threshold(ignoring old stealth kit; it doesn't work like that anymore anyway). so then why are the newer ones chance based? you already shouldn't be relying on them, as getting hit is bad, but they don't have any good reason to not work 100% of the time when you get hit.
@@tsquitz I know, you didn't read what I said if you think I was defending those items. I'm saying there's a way to make it work that doesn't suck ass, such as if there were more consistent ways of inflicting self-damage outside of niche setups or merely playing REX. The risk/reward of such a build would be sacrificing your own health to dish out more damage. Chance to proc is _maybe_ ok with that in mind, but I agree it should simply be guaranteed and its effects balanced with that in mind, it's not like REX with Razorwire is breaking the game anyway. Disputed is of the opinion that items that do things when you take damage are bad design but I don't think that has to always be the case, there IS a good way to go about it. And these items that they added are not that.
Extra thing regarding railgunner luminous shot. You *can* activate it outside of the smg. However, it only works with supercharge and cryocharge, IF you're not scoped in. This means theres someone weird going on with the scope because thats the thing that doesn't allow it trigger. Extremely weird interaction
Luminous shot, unstable transmitter, prayer beads, and warped echo all work with growth nectar. If you hold on to these poop items you'll have the growth buff permanently easily by stage 5.
I will come to bat for Luminous Shot a little. I find that it works well on Acrid and MUL-T. Acrid's secondaries have super short cooldowns and activation times so you can just hold M1 and M2 simultaneously to proc Luminous every 2 seconds at base. It helps for early game burst dps. MUL-T is very specific where you should run Power Mode with Rebar primary and Scrap Launcher secondary. Scrap Launcher will add a stack of Luminous for each shot, so when rebar hits, it does an extra 600% damage. You can basically hold M1 and M2 here as well and it'll just work. Not having a proc coefficient is still criminal though.
Luminous shot actually has a cool tec attached to it, which is that you dont have do trigger it with a primary attack, you just have to deal damage while you have your primary held down. This means you can get extra damage out of engi harpoons by charging your grenades while they hit, among other things. Not a huge deal but a pretty cool niche use
Did you know the Luminous Shot can work with any ability? If you use your M2 to gain a luminous shot stack, then MISS an enemy with your charged M1, your next ability (primary, secondary, utility, ultimate) will proc the Luminous Shot charged hit.
fun interaction i had with with longstanding solitude. i played with my friend and he had longstanding solitude and i had a helfire tincture build, he had a roll of pennies so we had a level 94 in a minute
While beads are bad there's a funny mechanic with printers where you can infinitely print stats. If you've ever wanted to hit 3 million hp this is the way to do it
Imo a cool rework to Warbonds could be that it grants initial gold on state, but additionally: Per amount in gold you have obtained so far in the stage, per chest's value, gain a 2% stat (Including crit) buff up to a max of 30% (+30%) per stack. So if a chest were to cost 135 gold, and you had obtained 337.5, it grants you 4% buff or even make it just simply multiplicative. Of course numbers or even the equation could do with tweaking but it would make the item so much better and turn into an anti snowballing item for if you were to stay on the same stage
Prayer beads would probably be a lot better if there was any kind of effect when you scrap them. As it is, there is literally nothing indicating anything has happened.
Noxious thorns is actually pretty good due to a bug. If it procs it treats the bleed effect as belonging to whatever hit you and all the other enemies will target it. Really nice distraction when half the mobs are trying to kill that one wisp without friendly fire enabled.
Grandpa didn’t die!!! 17:00 oh yeah, fun bug I found is that when the enemies get transmitter in void fields, the explosion they cause harms them and not you. That was the only reason I managed to beat e1 on chef lmao Also I would swap around war bonds and longstanding solitude, as I’ve seen a few people get godruns from it, but warbonds has never helped a single player to nearly the same effect. TLDR: make warbonds a white item, and instead give us a red speed item :)
There’s this guy called Kilroy was here who has a bunch of interesting videos on the terrible items from the dlc, like how noxious thorn doesn’t even work and since it’s bugged it’s actually much better than it seems
In the multiplayer the longstanding solitude is pog - i was playing with a friend and he picked that up. At first I thought he coocked himself BUT. The exp is shared between characters which means that essentially 1 solitude gives both of you a boost in leveling up. I got like level 50 something in the 5th stage,so in mp definitely cool stuff, especially paired with the brittle crown
Prayer beads have their own levels unconnected to player level at all, so they can be strong if not bugged, as you can get a substantial unconditional global damage magnifier at any stage number from them. If it's always just 15%, then it means they just don't stack I suppose, but only 5% more is still mid as you'd need 4 to just double it anyways (15x1 + 5x3). So a single stack can give a real damage bonus, even to things like gasoline.
Also, another note, Noxious Thorn doesn't even actually apply bleed, it applies some other weaked bleed-like debuff that some youtuber called "sneed", which does less damage, but also for some reason makes all affected enemies try to attack the enemy that hit you and proced thorn
I think some of the items are just bad (noxious thorn), but I actually have enjoyed playing with longstanding solitude, and warped echo with transcendence made false son a breeze. Definitely wish they’d fix the bugs though
I think its pretty weird they've gone radio silence now we are in the need for balance and couldn't even just buff numbers on some items while they worked on the more complex stuff. Is that complicated to just increase an items numbers?

Tbf, it would be a pretty cool item if it gave a lot more money. Like, if it gave you like 10 chests worth of money right away, so you can just rush through every stage would be worth the red imo. At least if you found it early. But as it stand - like, 2 chests worth of money and some change is just awful. But honestly, I would rather it be a red than green or white, simply because I don't see it in basically any of my runs, which is good :D
@@iluxa-4000 I think it should give 2 of that buffs the Lunar item gives. So you still get 2 free chests and you get to be strategic about it

If you do a quick right click into a left click (don’t hold right click) as Railgunner, it adds charges to LS
another way i found it that using the dual weapons on mul-t will proc it a lot because the second weapon counts as a skill
this whole update is basically just “cool new characters and sale star”
All the items are awful it’s insane. Whole update needs a rework.
It sounds like 1 guy who's amazed that you can touch it instead of 2 guys arguing over who should touch it
Knockback fin is actively detrimental as it knocks enemy's out of your fire band it negates what is one of the best items
If knockback fin stunned the enemy I wouldn’t mind it as much, but the fact that a beetle guard can still hit you with his long range attack option is just bullshit and not intuitive at all.
Knockback vs Knockup in League. Knockback vs Knockup in Ror2. It's just fucking stupid
I think it should give a small damage buff
I'm sad this wasn't covered in the video, but it's small, so I get it. There's a bug with Unstable Transmitter that sets enemy explosions triggered by it to be player aligned. This means enemies will take even more damage upon reaching 25% health, as well as harming others in the vicinity, all while the player is completely unscathed. It's such a god awful item, it is beneficial to the player when enemies have one.

@@zeibertronic It's so good with a brittle crown, it basically has no downsides. You level up super fast and on the first loop you can usually consistently full-loot 3 or 4 stages, after that you're level 80-90 so you don't really need more items. Absolutely broken item
I think its dookie but acting like you wont easily hit the level cap with it makes me feel like he hasnt used it at all
I think you’re sleeping on Longstanding Solitude.
It’s definitely a “win more” item.

Also, long-standing solitude plus a brittle crown lets you literally out-level the enemies.

honestly aegis is better because
1. war bonds is an economy item, meaning that its only good in the early game, and because it's a red, youre not gonna get it in the early game
2. Aegis can still actually synergize with items like Bustling Fungus on engi and the godbuild with Tincture
4. war bonds is outclassed by ghor's tome, and while Aegis is technically outclassed by Topaz Brooch, brooch stacks awfully in the late game which Aegis at least has over that, it stacks way better
Lmao aegis has no synergy and is NOT better than topaz late game
My understanding of long standing solitude is it makes everything more expensive so you get more money from things which leads to more experience for better levels why they even needed to include that in its description is a mystery to me
Bro luminous shot + Rex = gg
Unstable transmitter really isn't bad. Just kind of like "Okay? But why? Who asked for it?"
bro THANK YOU for doing the prayer beads. this is INSANE
Spoiler for number 1
He's actually completely wrong about Longstanding Solitude only giving about 2 or 3 levels.
Yea, but at level 94 your so strong that I usually just coast through the game
It clear bro has been down patching and not playing with some of these items lmao
And something like noxious thorn could be goated too if slightly tweaked, if they actual give +1 to enemy debuffs then they'd be pretty solid. The antlers will probably always be dooky though lol
22:31 "gives it a run for its money" it already stole it all theres no running here. Hard agree the worst DLC item bt far

I'm just gonna post this here bcz I'm bored and wanna share this little story (also bcz I got reminded of it seeing growth nectar on the list)
Me and my friend were on stage 4, abyssal depths, we had just opened the legendary chest with a sale star, boom, Growth Nectar (and Desk Plant I think).
“We’ll never get an I.C.B.M.”
We decide to loop and find ourselves back on Titanic Plains. Everything seems to be going pretty normal so far, until
MyFriend134 has found Pocket I.C.B.M (Shipping request form)
I couldn't believe it, my friend couldn't believe it. I stared at the screen, dumbfounded, while my friend was just as stunned. We both lost it. And that dear comment scroller is the story of how me and my friend became billionaires off of roulette tables
I can see Longstanding Solitude being pretty decent on simulacrum. You aren't missing out on items thanks to the free potentials between waves, and the free purchases would help a lot in looting chests since early in a run you typically don't get enough money to open all of them

so THATS why it caps at 94. The lograthmic function is slamming the exp numbers against the integer limit. Good to know.
another thing about longstanding solitude is that the level fully caps at 94, making all future purchases impossible, including things like the pylons on gilded coast. longstanding solitude also completely cuts off halcyon shrines, a major part of the dlc by making progress on them impossible even without the level cap
“There is no reason you should ever knock up an elder lemurian. Trust me on this one”
Luminous Shot does work on Railgunner
Using on their special while it’s un-scoped does consider it as a “primary attack”, so you can use the scoped shot a bunch, then use an unscoped primary
Those of you that will say “but you can’t headshot” - you can, you just won’t have the reticle highlight on the target’s head

The power of stormy item buffs compels me to fix it all!
I like the aegis hate when I've totally used aegis in vanilla runs to make myself invincible.
Idk man.
Transmitter is basically worse Loop and worse Stealthkit, and it fundamentally fails at the intentions and advantages of either item.
on items that trigger on you taking damage:
every other item before the dlc that was based on you getting hit was either guaranteed or based on an HP threshold(ignoring old stealth kit; it doesn't work like that anymore anyway). so then why are the newer ones chance based? you already shouldn't be relying on them, as getting hit is bad, but they don't have any good reason to not work 100% of the time when you get hit.

13:13 “there is no reason you should ever knock up an elder lemurian, trust me”
Luminous shot, unstable transmitter, prayer beads, and warped echo all work with growth nectar.
Luminous Shot works with Railgunner's special, as long as you fire unscoped. With max stacks of the buff, the damage bonus is actually kinda decent.
That poster in the background at 3:00 is SICK
Luminous shot actually has a cool tec attached to it, which is that you dont have do trigger it with a primary attack, you just have to deal damage while you have your primary held down. This means you can get extra damage out of engi harpoons by charging your grenades while they hit, among other things. Not a huge deal but a pretty cool niche use
Did you know the Luminous Shot can work with any ability? If you use your M2 to gain a luminous shot stack, then MISS an enemy with your charged M1, your next ability (primary, secondary, utility, ultimate) will proc the Luminous Shot charged hit.
THERES ANOTHER ONE?!
Bands are actually considered a debuff so blast shower can reset the cool down
And on console wecho deals full damage both times
the warped echo now has a beneficial bug, does not deactivate the regeneration of the shields and does not take away the opal defense buffer
fun interaction i had with with longstanding solitude. i played with my friend and he had longstanding solitude and i had a helfire tincture build, he had a roll of pennies so we had a level 94 in a minute
While beads are bad there's a funny mechanic with printers where you can infinitely print stats. If you've ever wanted to hit 3 million hp this is the way to do it
Imo a cool rework to Warbonds could be that it grants initial gold on state, but additionally:
Per amount in gold you have obtained so far in the stage, per chest's value, gain a 2% stat (Including crit) buff up to a max of 30% (+30%) per stack.
So if a chest were to cost 135 gold, and you had obtained 337.5, it grants you 4% buff or even make it just simply multiplicative. Of course numbers or even the equation could do with tweaking but it would make the item so much better and turn into an anti snowballing item for if you were to stay on the same stage
War bonds being made green is so correct that i do not play the game without that mod
In the defense of longlasting solitude, I was at the level 30 soft cap while looping, picked it up and a couple stages later was at level 81
when you go to void fields and forget that you have unstable transmitter:
Longstanding solitude and war bonds have a broken interaction with engi, you get xp every time you spawn a turret
You can shoot your charge/cryo shot without a scope to use luminous shot but it still doesn't matter because its base not total damage.
When in power mode on multi shooting your secondary primary stacks luminous shot. Pretty neat
That was the only reason I managed to beat e1 on chef lmao
Also I would swap around war bonds and longstanding solitude, as I’ve seen a few people get godruns from it, but warbonds has never helped a single player to nearly the same effect.
2:41 railgunner can hip fire the charged shot and it counts as a luminous shot. It’s pretty good that way
Prayer beads have their own levels unconnected to player level at all, so they can be strong if not bugged, as you can get a substantial unconditional global damage magnifier at any stage number from them. If it's always just 15%, then it means they just don't stack I suppose, but only 5% more is still mid as you'd need 4 to just double it anyways (15x1 + 5x3). So a single stack can give a real damage bonus, even to things like gasoline.
I really hope we get balance changes for this. Some items downright need a complete overhaul in their mechanics imo
war bonds better than aegis? the heck are you smoking? aegis has some use, war bonds has none
Bands do not count as a buff, but I think Safer spaces and opal both count as buffs for growth nectar.
