i have a theory, the Gundam statues have a protocol that when something bad is about to happen, the closest ones come to help and stop the threat. RXF00 was technically not a statue and did not help
I think it was either, unready, the protocol was not installed yet or too far. Then again the Freedom was in China so it could the first 2 things I mentioned
To be honest, i don't think its "Kira" or "Banagher" piloting the mobile suits because of how they moved The Unicorn didnt hold back anything and moved similarly to how the Phenex did during Gundam Narrative, and the Freedom was somewhat similar They both acted as their own entity, no pilot or anything. Think of the Mobile Suits as their own lives, as-- if it was Banagher "controlling" the Unicorn, the Unicorn would've moved a bit more merciful in a way, considering Banagher's demeanor. in the Freedom's case, he utilized the coupled lacerta beam saber, which was only ever used when the Freedom fought the Providence and was left with one arm, and in combination-- they both did not refuse to aim and fire at the cockpit. This is my opinion, just saying.
I'm not usually a fan of cgi in my mech anime but when the unicorn transforms into destroy mode is always epic and an example of how to use cg effectively.
Fun fact: the Freedom is like 30 tons heavier than the Unicorn! That may not seem significant, but it puts Freedom in the same weight class as Sazabi…..now picture Freedom next to Sazabi!!!
Thats easy though. With Unicorn you can straight up cut out the thrusters and make it even lighter. Also I don't believe Freedom is physically stronger than Sazabi or even reaches passed Sazabi's chest

This would mean without the wings it actually doesn't stack up to Sazabi's weight entirely, and is even lighter when it lets its funnels free

Just an honest question, when it comes to anime mecha there are the classification of super robot and real robot, and most gundams are classified as real robot because you can consider them to be at least realistic to the likes of Voltes V, Mazinger Z, and Daimos, but can you actually consider unicorn gundam as a real robot and not a super robot with all those ridonculous things that it has for itself?
I personally think that in Unicorn mode, it would count as a 'real-robot', and when it transforms into Destroy, it represents stepping beyond what is real, and making that which seems impossible, possible. It is a Beast of Possibility, is it not?
How do I put this... "Real Robot" refers to the fact that they are: 1. based PURELY on science 3. THEORETICALLY possible in the forseeable future. Unicorn for all its absurdity is still within the realm of possibly achievable with enough technological advances, yes I'm including destroy mode in that. The concept of Psycho Frame is that the MS would be controllable by mind, by using the frames to capture the pilot's thought wave. Fact is, that is ALREADY achievable by today's technology, just google "mind-controlled drone" and you'll find that those are already in prototype stage. Super Robot on the other hand is considered VERY unlikely to be achievable without some serious leap in scientific advancement. It is simply not scientifically plausible to have the robot to suddenly break through its technological limit simply because the pilot went into their equivalent of super saiyajin enlightment. They might as well says that the robot is a living entity in itself which works in symbiotic relationship with the pilot rather than being controlled by them. Yes, that means as far as Gundam series are concerned. Whether they're Real Robot or Super Robots depends on which series you're talking about...

They’re so ridoncolously powerful in strength and in the things that they can do. Back then, when I saw the 00 qanT I thought this has got to be like the strongest and most powerful gundam ever, comparing it to the likes of the strike freedom and wing zero because the gundam series that I’m familiar of started from gundam wing. Well it was until I found out about just how strong and absurd the turn a and unicorn are. The 00 qanT might have been incredibly powerful but at least the things that it does are still what I can consider somewhat realistic in a science fictiony kind of way, but those two are just beyond what I can consider realistic in sci-fi mecha.
@@PaVer-II The thing is that Unicorn and Turn A were powerful by design. it's not as if the robot suddenly break their technical and design limit. I'll admit that Unicorn came close in the end but psycho frame canonically is an experimental technology to begin with and Unicorn was unique for being the first mecha to be nearly completely made out of it, there was really no telling on what it could do. For all we know, Banagher simply finally able to use 100% capability of all the psycho frames installed on it. Especially since in the end, he managed to revert back to normal operation. Compare that to... say... Gurren Laggann or Getter Robo series where the robot quite literally evolve beyond what they were designed for because the pilot went berserk. That's a whole different ball game and that's what makes super robot... well... "super". The closest Gundam to Super Robot is probably G Gundam (God Gundam) where in the end, Domon and Rein made God Gundam to break through its limit. Then again, the MSs in G Gundam ran in entirely different system than the rest of the Gundam series with the pilots literally connected to the MS they're piloting.
Hopefully with RX78F00(From Yokohama) and RX-93FF Nu Gundam(From Fukuoka) and some future gundam statue that will establish here in japan and also from different countries

The idea is that all the Gundam statues that Bandai is putting up around the world are, in actuality, real functional mobile suits and the Freedom(ironically in China) and the Unicorn teamed up to stop the mobile armor from destroying Tokyo.

After all, an official GUNPLA store comes with it, and BANDAI company even redesign its wings for structural stability, which they also do to the latest Nu Gundam statue in Japan. And actually, it is because SEED series are somehow more popular than UC series in China, so we have Freedom statue instead of an RX series GUNDAM. Somehow, I am looking forward to them put up another one, like Justice, or Exia, or 00 in China. Better be Justice first, as there is Freedom already, though there might be even more difficulty to support its flying pack than Freedom’s wings when building statue.

In Japan, it is definitely the most classic UC series, while it is more like Seed series in China, though I personally like both. Also, maybe there will be transport issues. As transporting huge alloy-made GUNDAM parts does take cost and time. Guess we really need to invent large transporters with renewable or nuclear energy, like the ones in GUNDAM series. ^v< b
RXF model kit series is still the best seller. How much customizing can you do with the Unicorn beside weapon pimping him that's already been done? Look at the Unicorn variations, a white one, a black one, a gold one... Just colours.
Reflector Bits deflection works using anti-beam chaff / Psycommu Stuff that surround the Bits individually from side and lower area, the rotor probably didn't have enough chaff or Freedom's Beam Rifle use a different basis from UC Minovsky Mega Particles, or its the Rule of Cool at play

The idea is that all the Gundam statues that Bandai is putting up around the world are, in actuality, real functional mobile suits and the Freedom(ironically in China) and the Unicorn teamed up to stop the mobile armor from destroying Tokyo.
@@lorzon Honestly- that would be awesome. I would love to see this again years later, but Bandai's got Gundams in the US, in Europe, in Asia outside of Japan and China, and they all converge on a single entity that threatens the safety of the whole world. That's be sick as _fuck_

@@lorzon Well, does not have a problem to have Freedom in Shanghai. After all, an official GUNPLA store comes with it, and BANDAI company even redesign its wings for structural stability, which they also do to the latest Nu Gundam statue in Japan.
And actually, it is because SEED series are somehow more popular than UC series in China, so we have Freedom statue instead of an RX series GUNDAM.
Somehow, I am looking forward to them put up another one, like Justice, or Exia, or 00 in China. Better be Justice first, as there is Freedom already, though there might be even more difficulty to support its flying pack than Freedom’s wings when building statue.
@@Mystic2760 That is kinda up to what GUNDAM series is most popular locally. In Japan, it is definitely the most classic UC series, while it is more like Seed series in China, though I personally like both.
Also, maybe there will be transport issues. As transporting huge alloy-made GUNDAM parts does take cost and time.
Guess we really need to invent large transporters with renewable or nuclear energy, like the ones in GUNDAM series.

RXF model kit series is still the best seller. How much customizing can you do with the Unicorn beside weapon pimping him that's already been done? Look at the Unicorn variations, a white one, a black one, a gold one... Just colours.

Reflector Bits deflection works using anti-beam chaff / Psycommu Stuff that surround the Bits individually from side and lower area, the rotor probably didn't have enough chaff or Freedom's Beam Rifle use a different basis from UC Minovsky Mega Particles, or its the Rule of Cool at play
