Great to listen to one of the folks who changed the wine industry. One of the smartest folks you could listen to if you want to understand how the Napa wine world got to where it is today and where it is going. And why.

This video was so well made. I learned a great deal, have so much respect for this family, and will appreciate Napa more than I ever have. I'm fortunate to work in and around Napa and I will appreciate it so much more now. Great production.

Thank you Russell. Glad you and others in our wine community can benefit from these videos and the wisdom and experience of wine business leaders like Andrew Beckstoffer. Be sure to check out other videos in the series if you haven't, and share this great resource with other wine professionals.

I’m new to the videos but I’m curious about the business side. As far as the initial start up cost of an operation like this, did you go to the bank with the proposition for a loan amount you had in mind? I’m wanting to break into the winery business, but I’m not sure how to start.

Start by making at least $10 million outside of the wine business.

I just hope that you want to be fair to your supplier. It seems to me that your arrogant/toug/aggressive (meant in good way) behaviour is necessary to succeed in long run. Many important information provided. Thank you

Something about this approach seems off to me. Owning the land, great--but selling your grapes--not. Much of this video approaches wine like a Wall Street business--the real family-owned wineries --I hope they never operate this way.
