The reason why there are so many killing scenes using knives rather than guns in Korean movies is because guns are illegal in Korea and are difficult to smuggle, so they are not easy to obtain. So for all crimes, they use sharp and hard sashimi knives that can kill a person in one hit. It's actually like that too. Since most Korean men are required to serve in the military, they can use firearms and military firearms, but they are not allowed to touch firearms in general society.
