While Ragnarök improved the gameplay & enemy variety, God of War 2018 was the better story - the father-son dynamic was done so well, immersive dialogues & world building, all the subtle hints to Kratos’ past, likeable side characters & quests, plus Baldur was a brilliant & beautifully tragic villain.
Also Kratos feels and plays much stronger here than in ragnarok with the sound fx and visuals looking and sounding much better too. Overall this game conveys the feeling of GOW more within a self contained story whereas Ragnarok kinda felt like a pseudo GOW mixed with a shitty subversive marvel movie with a lackluster "ragnarok" and underwhelming villains and bossfights. Losing all of the potiental, world building and lore built up and established within GOW 4. The way the stories told by Mimir of Thor and Odin made you think they absolutely ruthless and intimidating threats whereas they were actually somewhat sad and pathetic and once again underwhelming

Bro is impressed by the talent of SmvR. Not everyone wants to beat the enemy in every possible way. For example, I am lazy in a fight. I am waiting for the enemy to turn his back to me to click his a*s. I like just light attack with the axe, evading and paring.

If only santa monica studios would consider doing a God of War 1 Remake. I would love to kill Ares again on the Ps5. And it would be good to see a younger Ghost Of Sparta in his unrestrained fury.

Turns out I didn’t even imagine you could be aggressive and parry mid combo/fighting. That was eye opening for me. (Also I went from level 5 to 7 after finishing the crater). Thanks!

Baldur is so dope. His VA killed it and the scene at 7:45:44 was just chef’s kiss. Baldur talking to Freya then Kratos trying to redirect. That push… and then “This again?” Then here comes masterful play by SmvR to make it lore accurate.. the world is good.

There were some improvements with the gameplay but at the same time, downgrades like removal of certain tunics, mechanics, and bare handed combat
