    Should this only be done in the summer as I’ve heard the rain will wash away the treatment

      There is a maximum and minimum temperature for the chemical to work. So basically, as long as it’s not scorching hot or freezing cold, and it’s a dry day, you’re good to go.👍🏼

    Stunning results mate I find it a bit of a hard sell with the Algo clear to say to customers it will brighten up over the next few months where as with Hypo its instant I try to combine the 2 and Hypo first rinse off then spray Algo Clear on and leave it at least this way the customer sees an instant result although it's more Labour intensive.
    I Think it helps with an instant result rather than a customer thinking I've paid x amount and it don't look much better

    • @aemackintosh
      @aemackintosh  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It depends on how you pitch it to the customer I suppose. Hypo can be damaging to the felt under the tiles. The moss removal is the instant bit and the AlgoClear is preventative as well as giving that improvement over time. I should have said this on the video, but it’s great maintenance to treat the roof every 2-3years to keep it in great condition.😃👍🏼

    Great video. I’ve had a quote for roof cleaning and am tempted to go with the moss and biocide as it’s more in budget than steam cleaning… if I’m patient will I get similar results in time?

    • @aemackintosh
      @aemackintosh  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it will depend on the original colour of your tiles, but as long as the biocide has been applied well you should see a good transformation within a year.👍🏼

    The biocide you use is a little expensive, can you recommend any cheaper ones please

    • @aemackintosh
      @aemackintosh  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are lots of similar products out there. I use a professional strength product which covers a larger area. So always check the strength of the product you are buying and the dilution rates. You may find a cheaper version but if it doesn’t cover such a large area then you are ultimately losing out.👍🏼

    Soft wash biocide or 12inch mosmatic

    • @aemackintosh
      @aemackintosh  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, you are too kind. I prefer to use the pressure washing method for instant gratification. But I think there is no single method that is good to use on every roof, they are all slightly different and you need to be adaptable.😃👍🏼

    • @aemackintosh
      @aemackintosh  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Richard Clair It’s up to you how you approach it. Pressure washing can be damaging to the roof if it’s not done correctly. The biocide treatment also acts as a preventative for up to 2years.😃👍🏼
