I loved this episode!Especially since it covered my old car-the ‘71 M51 GY3 JS23 Challenger. I was the guy in the pictures in the photo album. I tried to be anal with its restoration and you heard from Tim Wellborn, it was done right. Actually Ken Mosier was the guy who inspected the car before he bought it. He owned Finer Details at one time. The factory mis-stamped the engine block as you surmised. It was off by a number. He grabbed the wrong die I guess. Glad you guys bought it. Hope you share it once in awhile in future episodes of your show. You bought it cheap. Mopar to you guys!

Watching that Bahama Yellow 71 Barracuda hardly sell for 40k blew me away. No reserving is a scary game to play. Someone got very lucky. I'd buy it for that all day long to replace mine.

I prefer the bench seat column shift over bucket seats and console.
Me as an individual couldn't get 1/3 of what they are asking for these cars' >ridicules prices.
That Hemi Cuda is beautiful but is over restored IMO. I dont like you can see body color through the grille. Still a nice car.
Great video as I love mopars and fords. Currently own a 2007 ford mustang Shelby gt with 11k on it! First car a 69 mustang mach1 at 16! My friends had cuda, gtxs, 340 dodge dart, chevelle ss. Great era to grow up in!!👍👍👍🍺🍺

I just noticed on the 71 Barracuda you bought, they put the wrong production date on the reproduction VIN sticker on the door. They didn’t make any 71 models in November of 1971. Check it out.

@@Orcinus1967 something I checked into way before we got married, I needed to make sure that some lady wasn't just gonna be-bop into my life giving me orders to sell toys. 20 years later, she hasn't even gone as far as suggested that I sell anything. I kinda already knew she wouldn't, it would've have done any good anyway. But yeah, I guess that's why there's those 4 door Hellcats just in case..

I'm always looking for a good Mopar deal. Your not going to find it at these cesspool auctions like Mecum or BJ.
99% of our car hunting is not at auctions but this auction was a lot of fun and the sunroof 71 Challenger art was a good deal for us. But everyone’s idea of a good deal is different.
Or even worse, at a consignment classic car dealer.

@@patbateman6729 haha, leave it to a car guy to pick that off. But yeah, those auctions started that ball rolling, it was like everyone wanted BJ numbers for average cars. I found out recently that some of these dealers put 35% on the top for cars they get on consignment, I guess that's why I see the same cars on eBay for a year.

Then it got worse, I found out that some if not most consignment dealers are putting 35% on the top, I see the same cars on eBay sometimes for a year.

Your 71 barracuda is a very early car 803 the serial number is odd our car is 802 and number is 1000021 you know more about the numbers can you explain that way cool car
Have to say , if you have a muscle car that it should be a 4 speed!
How is a 383 an R/T?
Challenger RT came in 383-4, 440-4, 440-6, & 426 Hemi
@@ChasingMusclecars_Mopars5150 Interesting. I have a one-owner 69 Charger 383-4 and it's not an R/T. I've never seen a 383 R/T. Did that change for 71/72?
