It takes a lot of miles on a Spyder to get dialed in. However, once you do, you'll be blown away by what these machines are capable of doing. I have an Enduro for climbing walls, an FZ1 because it's a Unicorn, a Ducati Diavel because it's a dream to ride, and a Spyder RT Limited that I hooligan on. Very few Spyder owners know what they have so I can't blame you for missing the boat on your assessment. I bought the Spyder so my wife would ride and I hated it for about the first 6000 miles, then all the veils dropped and all the doors opened. What is possible on this machine compared to two-wheelers and conventional trikes is mindblowing. For anyone considering one, I vote yes!

Crazy story about a Spider I seen a few years ago, Me and my wife just started getting ready to leave from a coffee shop and a guy on a Harley just rudly yell out to the guy on the Spyder to buy a real motorcycle instead of riding junk! the guy on the Spyder was explaining he bought it for better safety because he rides is girlfriend around all the time and just seconds after that the guy on the Harley started to pull out and his entire bike slid out from underneath him in the sand and the guy on the spider said as he drove by and that's exactly why I got a Spyder! I will never forget it! I wanted to ask the guy if he was ok but he was so mad he was ready to fight someone. I just kept going!

@@quantumfx2677 Three quick stories for your consideration. My wife and I were riding on the same mountain where Jackson Hole is. Around 4:00 we decided to ride back to our hotel in Idaho.
We rounded a corner as it’s as if someone hit the lights. It went pitch and the gust of wind that struck me lifted me off the seat and tossed me toward the mountain. Luckily I was able to hold on and pull over. My wife was perfectly safe because of the was at pillion area is constructed. Hoping I could outrun the storm ( later to be defined as a squall) we races back the way we came. Visibility of about 15-20 years, traffic flying by doing what we were, water about1/4 to the hubs we somehow maintained 45-50 mph, flashers on, trying not to get run over. Long made shorter, we survived unscathed and eventually made it back to our hotel.
In the mountains in Colorado riding solo I ended up in the front of a Derecho and we traveled in unison for about 10 miles before it veered off.
2 months later about the same place, like all the rest, nowhere to shelter, a hailstorm struck.
The first one would probably have killed us if we been on any other style bike, the second would’ve resulted in injury or death. The hailstorm would’ve been who knows what, but laying low, windscreen all the up, the very wide body/ acting as a fearing helped a lot.
I still love you 2 wheelers but I know, other than a freak accident, I’ll be home for dinner.

@@quantumfx2677 A lot of Harley guys, especially Tri-Glider's are switching to Spyders. People are slowly catching on. Nothing sounds as good as a Harley but I'll sacrifice that for everything a Spyder can bring...which is a more than those baggers.

@@chuckkelley5894 I really like the spider but what keeps me from moving forward in getting one is I hear a lot of problems with them. Don't know if this is common or it's just a few of them or a different year model that needed attention.

@@quantumfx2677 I’ve had mine since 2019, ride it hard as hell and not one single problem. Keep them serviced on or before time and you’ll not have any problems. A number of my friends have older ones; ‘08s, ‘09s, ‘12s etc. All solid as stone, the ‘08 guys jacked his up to 175 hp and its problem free.

    Nice Spyder.
You commented somewhere they should make 2-wheeled motorcycles. Can-Am actually do make 2-wheelers, however, they are unfortunatly electric. They are called Can-Am Origin and Can-Am Pulse.
I do not own a Spyder yet, still researching and test driving. Noticed you though the brakes where so so, I dont know if you test drove a leman. I never riden on anything that stopped as fast as the Spyder I test drove. Outright dangerous as someone being too close behind dont have a chanse.
    Cheers from Sweden

Thank goodness I test drove one in New Braunfels Tx. Much better routes in the Texas Hill Country.

I have watched your Can Am videos. Your inexperience in riding one showed. Riding in Houston is a flat easy course and you did not have an opportunity to use the bike as designed. It is a shame that you don’t have the knowledge and experience of riding a Can Am to proffer an accurate opinion. You can lean and you should lean into the turn. Take a riders course and upgrade your skills. I can stop my Sea to Sky doing 40 mph in under 35 ft. I demonstrated it at the advanced riders course. God bless and stay safe.

I love my spyder rtl, its not a machine for those that want to be on the edge of your seat riding, want that, ride a ryker, my wife and i want to cruise and take our time. You dont need a sway bar , just get the end links. They work just fine. As for breaks, if your waiting to the last minute to break, you need to rethink on riding. I ride mine like i drive an 18wheeler, i could kill ppl with 18 wheels so take it slow, and enjoy the ride.

I would suggest ride a ski doo, and then you will realize what a spyder is

Did this guy say that the breaks aren't good?👀...they must've given you a bad one because these machine will stop on a dime and spit you out 9 cents change, you gotta be kidding me, I've been riding harleys since i was 12 and they don't even compare to my experience on the spyder, never have to worry about damn near killing myself on it, it is SUPER STABLE. you can't tip them if you tried, plus ppl who want to extend their ride time are loving these, just wait til you're at that point, oh you will be on one, the harley tri-gliders are even trading up for the spyders, because they are valuing the ride, bro you're tweaking 😂....i get it though, you're loyal to the 2 wheelers, it's perfectly fine😊

Hubby has a 2019 F3L and 2022 HD Road Glide Special. He loves riding his Spyder the most. He has owned HD motorcycle since 2007. If this guy rode twisties with a Baja Ron Sway vs a Triglide he would see there is no comparison. Also riding in heavy traffic when it is hot you feel the road heat to. Cat Delete changes that. Mine brakes stop my 2023 F3L super fast. I lean my body into curves. Riding our Spyders from South Texas to Deadwood, SD for 3 Wheeler Rally next week. He is not shift gear at right time. It is revving too much.

@@khadijahdavis1572 my concern with the brakes is sending my wife over the windscreen if I had to hit them hard. I have 24000 miles on mine and trail brake in every twistie. I also accelerate while trail braking…pedal box set at the top of Sport and a Baja Ron…I’m on rails✔️

24000 miles on the original brakes, original battery, and 2nd set of tires. I replace the tires on my sport bikes every couple of months.

If you ride the brakes on them, you will get fault code. Those Spyders have ABS and will stop on a dime. Also do not let off throttle when shifting gears. It will not flip very easily do to safety on these machines. Hubby owns a 2022 HD Road Glide Special and a 2019 Can Am Spyder F3L. He rides the Spyder more than the HD. You lean your body not the bike.
