I was born in 66....grew up on classic rock like this....God that was a great time to be a teenager...concerts cost between $8-$15....camped out all night at ticket master....those were fun times!!!
RIP Myles Goodwyn. Thanks for the memories. This song was without a doubt one of the best sappy ass love songs from the classic rock era. Great musician and band from start to finish.
Greatest Canadian band ever got me through a lot of hard times and of course the neighbors called the cops and told me to turn it down not a chance April Wine rocks class of 80 great times great music!!
I was born in 63. 19 years old when this song came out. I knew then that Myles had a unique powerful voice. Listening to April Wine songs lately and I realize just How Talented This Young Was. Amazingly Talented Group Really. From Nova Scotia. Canada
Was into alot of different bands growing up in the 70's.. April Wine, Head East, Foghat, Blue Oyster Cult, Kiss, Styx, Kansas, Skynyrd, Nugent & tons of others...
I went to a friend's funeral last week. She was the (barely) older sister I always wished I had. She dragged me (the nerdy neighbor girl) into being a cheerleader for her brother's (my age) little league football team, taught me about girl sh*t like makeup, how to play cards and to just relax and have fun. She also introduced me to some really great music. This one was her favorite!!! R.I.P. Wendy ❤❤❤
Still have the 1977 LP Artisan I bought new 3 days after my 22nd birthday. Is worse for wear, but still resides in my closet. One of my roommates at Wiley Kascerne had 'Mark of the Beast'. To see another Artisan like mine rockin this tune four decades later is very cool.
I feel the same, love is hard to find and hard to hold on to. I wish I was born in a different time years ago when people stayed together. My grandparents were married for 63 years. You can't hear about that now a days. You're lucky with this generation of couples will last two weeks ✌️
What a time to be alive this song really envisions or at least gives me a feeling of what it was like to of lived in this era. The is a power ballad for sure and probably my favorite song right now. Hope the neighbors enjoy some good ol April Wine I sure do!
These guys had some good tunes and real chops - they could play, they could sing, and they could nail it live. Should have been bigger, but I think they hit at a weird time, with hair metal taking over. They didn't quite have the right look, the right vibe for the rock crowd, but were too rocking for the pop scene. Really terrific band, much better than some bands that sold better, that's for sure.
I was introduced to April Wine by my high school french teacher because of the two French lyrics of this song. She had good taste. Merci Mademoiselle Boyd.
@@mountedpatrolman You from Indy man? Or close? If so get back to me. Im far from my hometown and it would be cool talking with someone who has been there.
The 45 of this was the first music I ever bought myself. The family had one stereo in the living room and I would play this continuously for hours. My mom eventually banned it from being played while anyone else was home. lol I can still hear the moment when the arm lifted to take the needle back to the beginning.
I had forgotten all about this song! And that's crazy, because it was the 4th song in our 3rd set, and I must have sung it a thousand times! In my defense, we're talking 1980-82 timeframe. I was a lot younger then, and there was a lot more in my bloodstream than just blood, if you get my drift. Miss my old bandmates: Doug, Kevin, Buford, and especially Mike (RIP, brother.) Great to hear it again, and yeah, great song!
In the 80s i wanted to grow fast and my mother would tell me to enjoy my teens! I wish i could of look into the future and see how people in 2020 are so fucked up!!!
In the 80’s all I wanted to do was grow up fast. Now I wish I could go back. Great song.
