Pressure testing of Fire hoses - Identifying defective hoses - Onboard a cargo ship / Gas tanker

These are routine jobs that we must religiously do as they are our tools in an emergency. Remember every single second counts when putting out a Fire or for that matter any emergency.

Great video sir .sir there was one question during pressure test once we open the hydrant then wen hose is full of water we shut the nozzle valve n hose gets pressurized to see the leak that tym anchor was should be kept open ya close one open n one shut needed atleast 8bar line pressure to test the hose no?.

YOU CAN KEEP THE ANCHOR WASH OPEN.. ONLY ONE OR THROTLE AS REQUIRED.. OBSERVE UR FIRE PUMP DISCH PRESSURE, SHOULD NOT BE HIGHER THAN YOUR LINE'S RATED PRESSURE..

Never done this for Engine hoses, it was always done by Safety Officer and deck crew. Thanks for new knowledge
