i live in rohnert park and weve been dodging flooded roads all day. we were trapped at kaiser on old redwood highway for about an hour. once we got home, our parking lot is under 8 inches of water. i tried clearing the drain in it with a rake but it didnt move at all. crazy
I'm hoping there will not be any drama from the 13.5 inches of rain expected in Santa Rosa. I live near a seasonal creek that has it's low side facing a large parking lot. Thank God I'm retired and don't need to commute through the flooded streets. The irony of the 2017 wildfires, which burned parts of Sonoma County California and now the potential for severe flooding. I hope it will be better by Tuesday when I have a doctor's appointment !
The flooding wouldn't be so bad if we hadn't paved over so much area with strip malls and cul-de-sacs. This was all predictable, and will get worse if climate trends and development patterns continue.
I’ve lived in Santa Rosa for over 50 years and this is the worst flooding I ever can remember in the city of Santa Rosa

Isn’t lake Orville getting 20 inches? Doesn’t all the water go downhill to Sonoma, Napa, Russian River etc?
No, Lake Orville is in the Central Valley. It drains to the bay. Seperate watershed.
