Still going strong with the note ultra for 2 years...haven't found a big enough reason to upgrade. At this point almost any flagship phone are the same speed and power wise so whats the point. This might be the phone I stick to till it breaks. Foldable phones are not there yet with the crease down the middle and reliability issues. So here's to many more years with the note ultra. 👍

All they are doing now is taking features away. No sd card slot, no charging brick in the box, no meaningfully faster processor or better cameras, no better ui or design features = no thanks ill keep my phone

    • @OpenCarry2024

@@andrewn924 Cameras are better, though I supposed if you added in "no meaningfully better" for the cameras as well then..... maybe yeah. But the s22ultra is a bit better in quite a few ways. ALTHOUGH I agree with you on that damn lack of an SD card. I can deal with no headphone jack and some things, but the SD card slot is the only thing - at this point though I might change my mind - that is stopping me from just getting the 22u right now. Not even the price, they have it "renewed/literal new condition" on amazon for under 800 right now. If it just had the f**king sd card slot they would have made a new customer.. but IDK I won't pay that much more for the 512 and thats the only way to ensure I DEFINITELY never run out of space. It is annoying really because they do it to save THEMSELVES money, and to ensure WE PAY MORE. That is why its f**ked up to me. not very "lifeblood focused" in my opinion. Lifeblood = Customers.

Actually at the time Samsung made a big deal about supporting the No20 for much longer... out of Nowhere they have walked it back to 3yrs. That's bs, but Typical of Samsung. They basically do Whatever they want, flouting our FTC laws. In this case, they want to Erase the Note name, and platform. They've realized that the only way to increase volume sales is to remove their Do All product. It's the exact same reason that you cannot get a regular Station Wagon from Toyota. -But at least Toyota respects their customers and plays by American trade rules ~

To be honest, it doesn't really matter if they do or don't. Your Note20 Ultra won't do any new tricks even if it gets 5 new Android versions. It'll still have the same processor and camera. Nowadays new android version really only mean slight UI improvements, maybe some new navigational gestures. But let's face it, we already know how to use everything on our phones in the most efficient way so any new changes won't really improve our life or how we use our phones. Whatever UI or optimization improvement they bring, it won't even save you as much time as you spent writing that comment 🤔. The only single reason I like long software support is that I look forward to getting something new, like if I was a kid unwrapping a present 😀. And the joy is over the moment I install the update, because I already know the update won't really improve my life anyway, and now there's nothing to look forward to for another year until new Android version releases 😅.

I had the Note 20 ultra last year. Fell in love with it. Been a Note fan since the note 5, and had a note 9 for like 2 years before I went to an S10.
That was a big regret so I gave the S10 to my partner, then went for the Note 20 Ultra.
I tried the Fold 2 and gave the Note 20 Ultra to my partner, bit eventually I got back to the Note.
Will be rocking this until the S22U gets a successor and maybe, the difference will be so big I will opt for an upgrade.

Great content. I've had my note20 ultra brand new for a year now. And still love it. It's real fast and smooth, especially when you turn off animations in the developer settings. And with 1UI 5.0. and Android 13 even if that's the last major update. It will still be good for another year or two. And it will still get more security updates even after the last Android update. If the s23 ultra knocks my socks off maybe I'll think about trading in my note20 ultra Maybe.

I got my note 20 ultra in January 2021 on a 3 year contract. So, it runs out January 2024. I have no had a single problem with my device. I have run out of space for my movies, but just delete old ones and live without a massive film collection. I mean it hasn't so much as frozen once. It just works everytime, all the time. I literally use it as a WiFi device for my house as I have unlimited data, and I get 5g in my home. So I set the mobile hotshot on and run my xbox and laptop from it. I use around 200gig of data a month sometimes alot more. The phone just doesn't know the meaning of "can't do that" or "doesn't compute." The thing is a god damb tank when it comes to software, and also its built like a tank too. I've dropped it down staircases, out of car windows while driving, and I use the flashlight as a nightlight every single night. The phone is all and more I could ask for.

For those who don't use top of the line up phones, this would still be their dream phone even in 5 years to come.
There isn't no apple phone that can compete with the beautiful display that the note 20 ultra has including the iPhone 14 pro max...
This display more than enough for any human being on earth..
    Colorful
    Bright enough
Big if not the biggest on any flagship on planet eart
    Attractive from any angle
Man this thing is build like a tank, with a rugged look and the beauty sofestication...
*I will keep it and wait for iPhone 17 pro max*

Yes I know that it's a very good phone for the price that you're getting it today but the American price and the Canadian price is still on the pricey side we are paying in Canada if we choose this phone $800 if you get it on the Amazon it should be around $500 but then there is the exchange rate if it's Canadian so it ends up costing you $650 to $700 that's my take on that thank you

I purchased the Note 20 Ultra refurbished back in July from Amazon but it cost $800. They had other cheaper versions, but this one came with a new battery and the full 12 month warranty. The reason that I didn't chose the S22 was it no longer offered the removable card slot. Something I feel no flagship phone should be without. And certainly if you consider it a Pro version. If you use your phone to take important photos or video, you need the assurance of a removable drive.

Now I started my cellphone journey jumping from iPhone XR, 11PM to N20U I've had this phone for 2 years and it's hands down the best phone I've ever had. Software amazing and I'm glad it's going to receive updates. As a musician the note and SPEN ARE PERFECT FOR ME. HARDWARE AND CAMERA ARE A DIME! Bump aside it's mighty. My only issue after ownership is the battery life, it could be better. I usually run adaptive mode along with full resolution 60 refresh rate. But I'm very happy with my phone. I was thinking about upgrading to the new 14 or at least the 13 series because I don't want to sacrifice my sim lol fuck that. I did however just purchased a refurbished iPhone from BM just to get a taste of ios again. I've always liked the coral XR color never had it 😌

Well, how about Note9 in 2023? I still use it and works fine. A unique feature and I use it most: iris scanner. So secure. No problem with amoled and anything, but only battery and that's normal for years of usage. Also bit hot when downloading in high speed internet connection. I think it's still good for 2023. Oh yeah, I bought Note9 brand new when it launched up until now. Keep up the good work, Samsung. You've made a great smartpone.

My favorite feature about this phone is still Samsung Pay's MST for paying at places that don't have NFC readers. The cashiers always roll their eyes and say, "Sorry, we don't take Apple/Google/Samsung Pay". And then I lock eyes with them, slowly move my phone to the card reader and listen for the beep. I love to see their faces when it works!
It's really too bad Samsung pulled the plug on it for all newer phones. They should've kept it around til at least 2028 when Visa/MasterCard shut down stripe tech in favor of chip readers.

Great video. Just picked one up for under $400 recently in great condition. I believe that's Q4 2022 steal going for a still current, flagship spec, used phone.
Been rocking used phones for years now, and just couldn't bring myself to drop 4 figures on new phone yet. The Fold 4 tempted me, but I think we are due to see a major refresh in the next model or so. Then I'll see how much I can get for a trade-in on this guy.
Wouldn't have been forced to upgrade if my current used workhorse, a Razer Phone 2, didn't kill it's usb-c port. But that one I got for $119 a year ago, so I think it earned it's value.

Just bought one in 2023 for $399 in mint condition, the black shiny one (which is the best color). I'm going to get the battery replaced in it tomorrow for $79 at a Samsung service center. This will bring this back to brand new. Now they did offer an option to put in a 5000mAh battery (aftermarket). This would bring it to S20 Ultra status. @@jibnerjuarez4288 I returned my Note 20 Ultra back to Amazon renewed a few days ago. Like mentioned the battery was awful but then it started to have connection issues. When I left my house on WiFi into T-Mobile service, it would show no service. I would then reboot the device, then I’d get all my notifications (all at once). I’m waiting for my refund.
To answer your question. I am not reordering another Note 20 Ultra and decided to get a S21 Ultra instead. Here is why. One- S21 Ultra is only like $50 more than the Note 20 Ultra. Two- the 21 Ultra will receive supported updates until 2025 (Android 15) where as the Note is currently finished (Android 13 only). Three- S21 has S-Pen support so it works just like a Note (need to buy a case & S-Pen for $28). Four- S21 has the faster 888 chip vs the 865 in the Note 20 Ultra. 5- and for the most important one, the S21 Ultra has a 5000 mAh battery vs the 4500 mAh battery on the Note 20 Ultra. So as you can see for a very minimal cost you’ll get so much more with the S21 Ultra.

I just bought a refurbished Note20 Ultra for the very reason you described at the end of the video: Was looking at Pixel 6a, always wanted a Note so thought I'd see how much these were going for!
This thing flies, I normally root and flash custom ROMs on my phone but the amount of customization out of the box in OneUI has meant there's no need. Maybe when Android 14 comes out I'll reconsider, doesn't seem like a huge ROM scene though.
