Back in the 70s and 80s in the US, bread pudding was extremely common to have as a dessert at home and in the restaurants. It's gone out of style now sadly. Loved all these quick recipes from ingredients in the house.
Peanut butter and Jam Bread pudding, not the UK/US fusion dish that has ever come to mind, but if it works, it works. Also noticed you are just 9K away from a Million subs, Congratulations.
Hi Barry, In an old movie there was a landlady who saved the crusts of bread from lunch and made bread pudding from them for the evening meal. I save everything so I may have tossed the crusts on the bottom of the dish and the triangles on top for the peanut butter & jelly pudding. Jacques Mexico
I do love peanut butter!! I think I will make the peanut butter rice krispy treats and add red and green m&ms for a Christmas treat! Thank you for another great video.
I used to love the crunchy version as a kid but for a reason I can't remember I went off it in my teens. I don't think I've had it since and that was decades ago. This is making me want to try it again.
OOOOH I love peanut butter, I buy it in 1kg jars. I can eat it by the heaping spoonful. OOh Always love PB Tip Rice Krispie square melt it in the microwave. Mum wouldn't make it often but my son grew up with them once I discoved microwave method.
Those Krispie treats look very close to something we call Scotcheroos in the US. The only real difference is mixing chocolate and butterscotch drops, melting them, and spreading that over the top instead of more peanut butter. It's like a Rice Krispie treat, only way better. 😊
Another really easy recipe to use up peanut butter is buckeyes! They're named after a nut from an American tree (the real nuts are poisonous), but they're essentially a peanut butter fudge balled up and then dipped mostly in chocolate. It's a common treat in Ohio and parts of Pennsylvania. Very similar to your truffles. Edit: Also, we also call it jam in the US, we only call it "jelly" if it's specifically made from fruit juice, most often grape juice.
Hey Barry ! I have a challenge for you (if you are up for it !) I want to you make a copy of my favourite chocolates - THORNTON'S VIENNESE TRUFFLES ! They have got to look AND taste the same as the real thing !
the truffles are basically Buckeyes. The difference is when you dip the peanut butter in the chocolate you leave a circle of peanut butter exposed so it looks like a buckeye. Also no pretzels needed.
@@mrbarrylewis Its super tasty! If you have ever had sunflower seeds its basically that. If you can find some you should give it a try! I found one that mixed in some unsweetened dark chocolate and one of my friends claimed they liked it more than Nutella.
Well i should get peanut butter last time when i eated peanut butter was like over 10 years ago when i was a little child and i dont remember the taste of peanut butter anymore:)
I love peanut butter however, after watching all these I feel like I have had an overkill without even eating any lol. My mum used to make bread and butter pudding but she would add raisins in as well, haven't had it for years. Must give it a go, minus the peanut butter.
I am not ashamed to admit I have much more than 2kg of peanutbutter in the house, but my husband eats it daily and we just re-stocked our pantry... sooooo yea
Whatever happened to your garden studio? It was nearly done and then we've never seen it since! Unless of course we are in the matrix and you are actually in the replica and no one has noticed 😂
Reminds me of back when I bought some rather large tins of tomatoes and asked for suggestions on the now rotting corpse of twitter of what to do with them, turned out, having lots of tomato-ey things gets a bit digestively awkward, well, it did for me at least....... :P
It might blow your mind but our sugar-free peanut butter just doesn't contain any sugar - even the cheapest supermarket value brand. And we don't call it sugar-free, it's "no sugar added".
Hi I have been trying to get first view on one of your videos for about 2 years I think I finally did it on this one woo hoo keep them coming Barry they are fantastic
Missing a easy peanut sauce, great for pork or noodles and what not. 2/3 peanutbutter ( i like chuncky!) 1/3 milk or coconut milk. heat slowly. Ad some hot sauce and soysauce to taste and some water if it is too thick. Use it on whatever you like , Pork, grilled chicken, noodles like ramen, meatballs or fries! Don't be afraid to ad some other seasonings like a spash of Heinz or tomato paste ginger and so on!
strange, i never gotten shell in with the eggs, maybe because i crack them on the countertop instead of a knife or the bowl , that way you dont fling shell pieces into the egg :)
If you didn't go to a discount store here in Japan, those 3 jars of peanut butter would cost you over 35 usd here in Japan. If you went to a discount store, maybe half, still too expensive. I find the idea of having a lot of peanut butter in my cupboard to be a fantasy on the level of finding a unicorn, mate.
Hi Barry, had to pause the video near the start to run to the kitchen to make a quick microwave peanut butter mug cake, it proved excellent company for the rest of the vid!! So what you are making near the end looks more like "Bread and Butter Pudding" - "Bread pudding" is a different beast altogether, like a stodgy brown cake, and if you haven't made it before, you absolutely need to, it's sooo delicious!
For the umpteenth time, Barry. Jelly and Jam and not synonyms and its not a matter of regional dialect. Jelly is fruit juice mixed with *gelatin* hence the JELLY part, jam is fruit cooked down with sugar to preserve it, there is *no gelatin in jam* and is therefore not jelly
So perhaps seedless jam is something a bit closer to it? What would be an alternative you'd use in the UK? Interesting thread here on Reddit www.reddit.com/r/AskABrit/comments/inuf7s/what_is_american_jelly_called_in_england/
Wanna give these a go? here's all the recipes typed up with some hints and tips to try barrylewis.net/recipe/easy-peanut-butter-recipes/
THANKS For this Barry! PB is awesome ❤❤❤❤❤
I would love to see gluten free versions of all your cakes, bakes & pizzas
Back in the 70s and 80s in the US, bread pudding was extremely common to have as a dessert at home and in the restaurants. It's gone out of style now sadly. Loved all these quick recipes from ingredients in the house.
Im allergic to nuts. So don't know why I'm watching this 🤣 just love watching your videos
Damn
hahaha, sorry about your allergies though
Depending on your sensitivity, you might be able to make these with WowButter or another seed butter.
I'm sure sunflower butter would work with these recipes as well.
I was actually about to say the same thing. 😂😂
I think my favorite would be the cake & Rice Krispies squares! I’ll probably try & make those. Have a great week! 👍😋✌️💚
The second recipe reminds me of a buckeye. I never thought of adding pretzels to the outside of it.🎉
How exciting, you are so close to your first million.
A thick layer of chocolate on the rice crispy treats would be perfect. The bottom of the cake tin made me think of that.
Where I live, in Quebec, Canada we have an on recipe of Bread Pudding. The traditional one here is sooooo good❤❤❤❤

my stepmother ADORES peanut butter. its one of her essential food groups. needless to say, im sharing the recipes 😂
Peanut butter is awesome! Specially love it in brownies and lava cakes!
My latest is the soft popcorn and white chocolate!
When I heard Peanut Butter Rice Crispies, I couldn't believe it. Now I want to make it. Thanks for this.
I'm not a huge sweet/dessert person, so would love to see some savoury recipes using peanut butter!
I do love peanut butter!! I think I will make the peanut butter rice krispy treats and add red and green m&ms for a Christmas treat! Thank you for another great video.

Looks lekker as we say in Dutch!
I love making peanut butter cookies with dark chocolate chips 🥜🧈🍪 What delicious looking desserts & thanks for sharing Barry 😊👍
RE: Truffles... Alternative to using pretzels... leftover potato chips. TY for an awesome video and for sharing the recipes
I love peanut butter! All of these look amazing.
cant wait to try the flourless cake!
Would love it if you could do some low carb, sugar free diabetic friendly recipes
I am not Peanut Butter fan but like Peanuts. You make me want to try some of those recipes 🐿🥜🥜🥜
Funny, i only use peanutbutter for savoury things! 😄
OOOOH I love peanut butter, I buy it in 1kg jars. I can eat it by the heaping spoonful.
OOh Always love PB
Tip Rice Krispie square melt it in the microwave. Mum wouldn't make it often but my son grew up with them once I discoved microwave method.

Mmmmmmm peanut butter 🤤
Peanut butter rice crispies, but use the chocolate Rice Krispie cereal. Amazing stuff.
Hey Barry, I see you mentoined these will work with nutella also but what about chocolate spread or biscoff? I can't stand peanut butter 😂cheers !!
6 new vehicles to get the PB into my tummy!
Fun ideas!🥜

Elvis's favourite sandwich was peanut butter, banana and bacon... That would probably make a very good bread pudding actually!
Peanut butter rice crispy treats - Oh My!
They were very good cheers, took them to tennis and the other players enjoyed them
I made potato candy. It was good. With boli potato and iceing sugar and peanut butter
Been wanting to try that for ages!
If you don't make them too thick pizza wheels are great for cutting rice crispy treats.
Cookies are our go to with peanut butter. It is a 1-1-1 ratio, one cup sugar, one cup pb, one egg
What I want to know is what you did with ALL those treats??! 😂 Even someome with a serious sweethtooth like me would struggle with all that
2:00 Why did you cut out you actually bashing the pretzels :( I demand violence!
😂
Love the recipes🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
1 egg, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup PB. Bake @350 for 8-11 min. Depends on how thick you make them 🎉😂❤

Sorry Barry, we lost you at Comercial 5.. 13 min. In. 😢 ❤
Could you do something similar for sunflower butter someday, for the many of us allergic to peanuts and tree nuts?
I have never had that before! What's it like?
@@mrbarrylewis Its super tasty! If you have ever had sunflower seeds its basically that. If you can find some you should give it a try! I found one that mixed in some unsweetened dark chocolate and one of my friends claimed they liked it more than Nutella.
We do know about bread and butter pudding in South Africa. But we just call it bread pudding.
Must be from the years of being a British colony. 🇿🇦❤️
I think all the sugar in this episode gave me pre diabetes... 😏😉😆
I think I'd cover those rice crispie squares with milk chocolate.
I’m really sad that I’m anaphylactic to peanuts! I will try all these recipes with cashew butter!
Yes deffo, I wrote in the recipe notes you can switch that up if needed for sure.
One for another time... Try it in a bolognese, a large dollop in a serving for 3/4 in the pan when the meat first goes in
Well i should get peanut butter last time when i eated peanut butter was like over 10 years ago when i was a little child and i dont remember the taste of peanut butter anymore:)

I typically buy over 2 lbs of peanut butter when I purchase peanut butter.
I am not ashamed to admit I have much more than 2kg of peanutbutter in the house, but my husband eats it daily and we just re-stocked our pantry... sooooo yea
Amazing
put marshmallows on the top of the last dish
I'm a Yank, but I don't find 2kg of PB that absurd. I usually have that, but in multiple smaller jars. Big jars are cumbersome to scoop from, imo.
Ah yep deffo, I just bought it for something I can't remember what and don't eat that much of it! That said wholesalers sell huge tubs of the stuff!
Whatever happened to your garden studio? It was nearly done and then we've never seen it since! Unless of course we are in the matrix and you are actually in the replica and no one has noticed 😂

How have you not got diabetes wow, these all do look amazing though
Make sure it's not sugar-free peanut butter, because to replace the sugar they use xylitol, which is very VERY poisonous for dogs.
It might blow your mind but our sugar-free peanut butter just doesn't contain any sugar - even the cheapest supermarket value brand. And we don't call it sugar-free, it's "no sugar added".
parece brigadeiros so que com mais calorias
Ah yes! I'd love to try authentic ones (Google translate helped me translate your comment by the way lol)

When will he learn not to try and move cookies straight out of the oven 😂. 10 mins Bazza!

The pretzels looks like dog ends. 😅😂
Bread and butter pudding isn't the same as bread pudding.😊
As a courtesy, I am watching this video even though I detest peanut butter and won't allow it in the house.
I've probably missed this somewhere but whats happening with the garden studio...?
Bl- -dy Fantastic! Heart Attack in a Video! look out NHS! Here they come, The Sugar Hype Crew.
Made with chocolate lying around the house... 😂 😂 Not in ours! 😂
I had 3kg before a year I got it on sale I'm left with one jar now.
Do you have any peanut butter I can borrow ?
Not much any more lol
2kg of PB is like my normal jar size......I have a problem
Are you having peanut butter with your peanut butter?

i wait for subtitles...
First baz
Strangely enough, I have more peanut butter in my pantry than you…… I don’t even like it
