  • It seems self-evident that high-satiety foods keeping you healthier and fuller longer. HAVA claims to have a system & App ($13/month) that will guide you to weight loss/better health using the Satiety per Calorie model. They say it's based on the best available science and not arbitrary. Let's discuss...
    Nick Norwitz will be joining me, and hopefully so will Dr Ted Neiman & Dr Andreas Eenfeldt, the founders of HAVA.co

      @@williamzk9083good thought, but there are many natural meats that are extremely lean and would create fat deficiency, or rabbit starvation (I know, it's called protein poisoning, but I believe that's a misnomer) if relied upon too heavily. Many kinds of fish, crustaceans, game meats, and even farmed animals are this lean, although they are otherwise quite healthful. So, this term might lead some less educated people, particularly newbies who might not have yet overcome their fear of fat, to over-depend on these "whole meats" and wind up sick anyway. I believe this is why many influencers choose the term 'fatty meat'.

      I’ve been treating with Dr. Robert Cywes for metabolic health for the last three years and I learned that it’s not about the weight loss but rather about your mindset. You’ll never lose any weight if you don’t change your mindset. It’s taking me three years to learn this and I’ve also learned that there are no such things as keto snacks. You’re not supposed to snack you need to change your mindset. I know it’s tough to hear but that’s the way it is.

      "monosodium glutamate" - this is a neurotoxin and tricks the brain into thinking something tastes better than it does. I believe it is also addictive, or at least was for me. I became hooked on Sour Cream and Chive Pringles and developed a severe MSG intolerance, suffering several anaphylaxis episodes. My intolerance was so bad that I even had to cut out naturally occurring glutamates (this was pre-low carb): tomatoes, mushrooms, corn, hard cheese, peas, plums, soy sauce and probably a few other things I cannot think of at this moment. Eventually I was able to consume the natural foods again. Now I'm low carb there are many of those I don't eat. And I try to steer clear of any food that has a flavour enhancer in it.

    Another problem that jumped out at me with their system of coming up with the scores is the assumption that our bodies react the same way to a calorie of, say, sucrose, as to a calorie of fiber or protein. So it can't be legitimate to simply count calories and use them in total in the calculation.

    • @vanessarheadart9708
      @vanessarheadart9708 หลายเดือนก่อน

      my body doesn't use calories like that, as I don't set fire to my food intake and run off the heat given off. I am not a combustion engine.
      My body is smarter then that. My body breaks food down into elements and nutritional short chains of amino acids/fats etc then sends these all over the place to where they are needed.
      I bet your body is smart too. 😁

      They are a measure of energy in a product. You burn the measured food in an "oxygen bomb calorimeter device" and measure the amount of heat that is generated by it to determine energy the food can produce. One calorie will raise on ml of water one degree C. I've done this test many times and the results are reproduceable.
      However, human bodies are not efficient like an oxygen bomb calorimeter.

    I am diligent to consume information from everyone: Dr. Berry, Layne Norton, Dr. Mike, etc. I am a paying user of the Carbon Diet Coach app. I can attest to the slippery slope of how a metric based diet (IIFYM, measure keto, SPC) can very quickly lead to heavy consumption of packaged foods. Packaged foods are easier to track and easier to plan. I wasn’t surprised to see Ted’s memes shift from pictures of celery and salmon to pictures of branded yogurt and chips.
    I agree with SPC that protein is non-negotiable and should be consumed beyond the RDA.
    I agree with Layne that some form of cognitive restraint is necessary for weight changes.
    I agree with the paleo and adjacent groups that “real food” is superior and may provide some people with success sans CONSCIOUS restraint.
    I wish more people understood that it is possible for multiple people to have useful information that can be applied to their situation.
    Thank you.
