The levels in Skywalker Saga are too short and some levels are missing that I wish were there. However, most of the levels that appear in both games are done better in Skywalker Saga. Another factor that no one talks about or just sort of gloss over is how much better the vehicle missions are. Vehicle levels have almost always sucked in Lego games, but they are fantastic in Skywalker Saga. they FINALLY got them right.
it’s a different type of game it’s almost like an assassins creed game it leaves it up to you to explore. i’ve seen some of the spots ur saying tho they crunch the story together to where the events happen at once
I would have preferred longer or more levels they pust most of their time into the open world which is amazing but the levels are so short and with so little to explore for only 5 minikits I don't see myself replaying the levels a lot
The vehicle missions are really good for the most part, except that Zam Wessel boss fight. I played through the Skywalker saga without auto-aim, so this boss fight was absolute torture. It took me 2 1/2 hours to get her first heart down, then I just turned on auto aim
The Complete Saga is an endlessly replayable and iconic classic in the series that will never be considered obsolete. Some who haven’t grown up with it may find it boring, but to those who have, it was a very memorable experience that has even turned a lot of people into Star Wars fans. Although The Skywalker Saga hasn’t replaced The Complete Saga, it is still an enjoyable LEGO game. Despite this, some were disappointed with how the game turned out, and justifiably so. The game’s story mode, which is the only part of the game that the majority of the series’s playerbase actually plays, was pretty lackluster and forgettable. It was alright at best, but it obviously wasn’t prioritized. Obviously a strange choice, but people like myself who always go for 100% completion on these games got the most out of it, so I liked this game. Yes, it was repetitive at times and it is very overwhelming to look at that total collectables screen for most players, but to me, going for every collectable was very enjoyable. It at least wasn’t so tedious like some other games with a lot of collectables like Donkey Kong 64. To me, this game is fun and rewarding to go for 100% completion, especially with a second player, and it’s also a fun expansive sandbox with lots of different in-game locations to mess around in.
Complete saga was definitely a better experience for its time, Skywalker Saga was fun but the missions are too short and there’s not too much of stuff we haven’t already seen
@@larniieplayz6285 “did you expect it to be mostly new stuff” what kind of question is that? literally everyone expected it to be new. considering the trailers.
My main problem with the skywalker saga is the repetitive puzzles like you said. I've only finished the prequels and I've lost count on how many times I had to build stairs to reach a kyber brick
I've also noticed that in skywalker saga the ai doesn't bother trying swap characters to get to where the player is unlike in compete saga which in free play and story mode the AI will do everything they can to get to your side
And some irrelevant. Like the first level of Episode I is you being chased by fishes. And that's it. Previous games had several parts. I remember playing Lego Harry Potter games for example and I still enjoy playing the levels. Same for the Lord of the Rings. Plus, the names of the levels... Many are jokes (like "Better Call Maul") but... It's too much.
for me the skywalker saga has just been disapoiting, not bad, but just disapoiting, as with complete sage it felt like they were focusing on the levels and telling you the story of star wars, where as skywalker feels like they are just giving you snippits of the story and giving you the openworld and side quests. and for me in skywalker the levels have just taken a really big hit which for me was the main point of the lego games the fun levels. a prime example is levels like escaping from theed or the invisible hand, as escaping from theed is litrally just walk down a street and have 3 battles in skywalker, and invisible hand is just walk down some coridors open the doors and boom boss fight and then level over. where as in complete these were full levels
Complete Saga is also pretty repetitive with levels. Half of the levels are not very good and the best levels are the bosses. Complete saga is good but imo Skywalker is miles better.
I love both, I like the complete saga’s gameplay and humour same goes with the skywalker saga it’s just that the skywalker saga levels felt a little short and I wanted to play certain levels like palpatine’s arrest and the battle of endor and blowing up the Death Star II and I wished the in the skywalker saga was a but more serious with a few scenes like qui gon’s death and I wished they didn’t censor violent scenes too much. I also wished they kept R2D2’s flying and stuff. But they are both great and legendary.
exactly, this game could've easily been better than The Complete Saga but then they did all that you said and took out R2D2 flying because fans hated him flying in the movies for some reason
@@larniieplayz6285 Skywalker saga is a walking sim with the only attention put into it being in the empty open worlds and actual levels have no puzzles or depth or are just a vehicle level where all you do is aim and shoot
Sometimes less is more, having recently played through Skywalker saga I honestly can't be bothered 100% it making this the first Lego game I won't complete. I always go back to TCS and see just how sometimes games don't need every mechanic under the sun, it just needs to be fun Forgot to mention what did they do to my boy THE STUD METER they massacred it
I feel like the complete saga is better because it has done a better job in implementing the lego experience into the movies, while the skywalker saga tries it the other way around and puts the movies into the lego experience, in my opinion it just works better the way the complete saga has done it.
Character customization and the ability to change the difficulty is all the skywalker saga needs, that's the only reason that makes me want to buy Characters
My main issue with the Skywalker Saga is the amount of jokes. I got frustrated a couple times with certain scenes that were supposed to be emotional, but it was ruined because they tried to throw in a joke. That is a Disney problem though, as everything they create nowadays rely too much on humor to make a scene memorable.
@@brandonenriquez5222 TL:DR: TSS puts the wrong jokes at the wrong times, many aren't funny or charming and are kind of cringe, some contradict characters' personalities and traits, and they force modern and outdated humor in places they shouldn't be. Yes it is a Lego game, but it shoves them in your face. In the originals, naturally it had some Lego humor. But it sort of fit with this game and the movies that it's portraying and added on to the charm of the games. Some jokes are small little gimmicks, others are cute and charming, but others are more subtle and keep the serious emotional scenes well, emotional. In the Skywalker Saga, many of the jokes seem forced and some are just kind of cringe. Some jokes in TSS though are pretty funny and charming, but not many. some scenes that makes me cringe is one where General Grievous dabs just before the fight with he and Obi Wan. And another in the cutscenes where Qui Gon dies. They had no place being there. One joke that did make me laugh is the scene where Qui Gon tells Anakin to get down and then Jar Jar Binks pulls out the funny fish looking thing (I don't know what creature it is spare me) and then immediately panics back to the ship with his tongue stuck on the door. That scene was funny and charming but it also kind of fit with his clumsy personality. Many of the modern jokes destroy the scenes and they have no charm nor do they compliment the characters' personalities.
@@fizzy360wolf Motherfucker its a game targeted towards kids, it has eh humour sure, but of course it is. If you want to have a "serious" star wars game, try not lego.
I think the Complete saga is better but I still respect the new game. The Complete saga just had better phasing and is still one of the best Lego games. The level designs are actually good instead of just running around but the new game is still a fresh take. The new game is much better visually and I had a blast playing both but the Complete saga was just more consistent.
I’m glad he didn’t just dog the new game the whole time but actually gave them both credit. I’ve seen people say the new one is absolutely garbage but it isn’t. Both games were great imo.
I hope the next project is a new clone wars game with content from season 4 to 7 and maybe bad batch as well If they do it I think that they should make the levels the main focus of the game Also to bring back the ground warfare from the first clone wars game as well as space warfare would be cool to see. Also the character roster would also be insane If they really wanted to they could include dlc missions for kenobi fallen order and rebels for more sith characters like vader and inquisitors A bit of a niche game but considering how well the skywalker saga did maybe after a couple of years
Makes no sense to make a complete Star Wars saga game then make a new game focused on key events in the clone wars. There really should’ve been dlc levels in this game.
the complete saga was an era of playing og battlefront 2. but the new one is definitely better. it’s like an open world game and each planet has their own islands. plus the ship flying is amazing
@@wavy0ski No it doesn't. I was hyped as Hell for Skywalker Saga, but the absolute watering down of what made Lego Star Wars great in favor of overrated open world is what had me uninstall the game after a week.
I honestly think that the combat in the Skywalker Saga sucks. Yes the complete sagas combat and boss fights are also very simple, but TT Games had 15 years to work on this, and for me they didn’t improve it too well. Every boss fight is the exact same, and using the blasters is painfully boring seeing as you can easily stand out in the open, kill 10 enemies and barely take a slither of damage.
In Lego the clone wars, it was more difficult fighting against the enemies like magnaguards, commando droids, droidekas, superbattledroids and you could get killed a lot of times. In this new one you can slice through superbattledroids as if they are nothing.
It does not really suck. They really did improve it quite well. Not at all, how they all fight you is pretty different from each other, it is not boring at all as you will most likely be taking damage.
Personally skywalker saga is a pretty good game but no where near as good as the complete saga it's incredibly buggy weird character choices and I can actually finish the complete saga. I think the skywalker saga had to downgrade in some sections to put more time and effort into the open world
more like they downgraded for publishers wanted the game out to early or disney plus 4 levels per episodes is big nerf compared to their other sw lego games
@@mscapeh4451 it’s 5 levels per episode and the publishers already had to delay the game like 2-3 times because they were trying to fleash out the game as much as possible
I think I like the Skywalker saga more just because of the sheer amount of content. I love exploring the different planets and seeing the different character interactions and Easter eggs, like Anakin’s lightsaber turning red for a second him hitting it in his hand until it flickers back to blue. I also was glad they included a ton of references to TCS, like the showering stormtroopers on the rebel ship in ANH and the pod race. They took the nostalgia from TCS and made another great revamped Lego game
To my surprise i finished the podrace on the first try but it could have done it more time, and one thing that i hated in the complete sage was the fact the the camera was only looking in one direction
I only ever owned the one of the original triology and only played the complete saga (with the prequel) when I was visiting my father as a kid because he stayed at the time with someone who’s son had the game. (I did have the gba version of the prequels and the DS version of the original but those don’t really count) With that I’ll say I prefer the skywalker saga, even if most of the proper levels are pretty short compared to the old ones.
I've played both and both are fantastic but like you said levels being too short and with cut content is kinda unacceptable for the high price point but then again it's way longer and more fun then the older game. But if they added in a character customized that would be amazing. Plus the graphics are so pleasing
My problems with the Skywalker Sage: First off the major one I have is the force character they put you through when in a boss fight, for example while fighting Anakin Skywalker in the 3rd final boss fight you will fight Anakin as Obi Wan despite being in free play mode. I have a major problem because the best part of free play is because you can play as anyone and fight against an opponent like Ahsoka vs Anakin. My second problem is they don’t let you fight some enemies you can only fight in an open world mission again, example would be (taking over the ship or creatures) which if I am right you can only fight them again if you create a new save file and there is no new game plus. 3rd problem is when fight enemies if you are a character who is on the same side they won’t fight you and you can’t hit back, this happen in the space battle and other enemies. If you want a specific example Din Djarin (the mandalorian) can not fight villain enemies because he is classified as a bounty Hunter despite him basically fighting the empire multiple times. Another problem is that there is no customizable character which is what we all loved about Lego Games because we get to customize our own characters and even make some jokes, but there is none. And the final problem I have is the fact that the levels are pretty short and aren’t as entertaining as much in the past games. In which there are some levels that I would’ve preferred being included.
The lack of custom characters is a much bigger problem than some people realize. Its largely a children's game and a lego game. Why are the younger players prohibited from using their imagination and creativity. Child me would have killed for an open world lego star wars game where I could run around the galaxy as my own custom guy. Roleplay like that was always a big part of the TT lego games.
@@baklapjr they will in time lol I'm seeing more people speak out and garner attention it's not the developer's fault tho, tt owners have bad practices

@@baklapjr nah, I’m gonna blame the devs. Yes it’s not all their fault. But the horribly designed levels, ridiculously easy difficulty, and lack of good platforming are.
@@gentlemancharmander4411 Yeah, but I blame the heads of TT for making them use an entirely new engine, NTT, instead of using the engine that they've already been using and improving specifically for Lego gmes from the beginning.
We started the Complete Saga today with my son (7 yrs old). He is a SW fan, and lego collector. We played the first 2 chapters (from 160??? - that will be a long adventure)
Complete Saga >>>> Skywalker Saga. Yes Skywalker Saga has better visuals, and more "content", but it lacks soul and has very poor quality control, unlike the Complete Saga, which is still an accurate name to this day, "COMPLETE" Saga.
If skywalker saga just had one more level being 6 to each episode! Oh boy it would be amazing: Episode 1 - Negotiations Episode 2 - Jango Fett Escape Episode 3 - Battle for Corusaunt Episode 4 - can’t think of one tbh Episode 5 - again idk Episode 6 - original trilogy is hard Episode 7 - Rey’s torture Episode 8 - Rey’s torture prt 2 Episode 9 - Rey Palpatines death
My biggest issue with skywalker saga is that the actual levels are way too short and very key moments are missing. The rest of the game is walk to this location in the overworld and press A to continue story. Its clear the main focus of the game went towards the open world and not much time or thought was put into the actual levels. This is what complete saga (for the most part) does well and why (in my opinion) makes it the better game of the two.
Skywalker saga having voiced lines ruins it for me. The lego dudes are supposed to pantomime and make noises to communicate. The choice to put voice lines in takes away from the charm.
One thing I THINK you got wrong but so correct me if I’m mistaken is that the combo build ups in TSWS don’t actually make you do more damage, they just give you studs
So ive introduced Star Wars to my 5yo daughter who i only see every other weekend. Started with Episode 4 and shes hooked so i started playing the lego skywalker saga with her co-op. I have to say the complete saga is better for anyone wanting to play co-op with a child because she gets too easily lost in the skywalker version.
cri, I wanted more respect toward TCS. I feel like that game is much better than this one and deserves a lot more praise than the new game since it barely has any problems and feels like a complete and unbroken package
I don’t like how short the levels were in Skywalker Saga. In my opinion, the larger open world design is fun, but it’s not the same as the individual levels
My complaint is puzzles being too easy, which is understandable on easy, as it is for kids, but should be optional to make them a little more challenging. Kids are smarter than you think. And also, we all know adults love Star Wars. I’m 35 and I wasn’t even born until after the entire original trilogy came out. Return of the Jedi came out in 1983, I was born in 1987, making me the prime target age for the prequels. Everyone saying the Skywalker version is too short, probably didn’t do all the side missions when playing the levels. I didn’t on the first pass so I could unlock the levels, but there’s a lot of content if you want.
skywalker saga does boss fights better because "bosses have their own moves and at times you will face a bladelock" that made me pause the video and write this. You got charmed by the nice boss introductions and different animations for the exact same moves. There are TOO MANY boss fights for how EXACTLY THE SAME they play out. And blade lock is not something positive, it looks good the first 2 or 3 times, after that people do boss fights with r2d2 just to avoid the bladelock since it is annoying buttonmashing. Boss fights in the skywalker saga are also not challenging at all, you take next to no damage. Besides graphics, animations and eleminating the annoying vehicle levels, skywalker saga has done nothing better at all. Those who defend vehicle levels in skywalker saga are charmed by having free movement but should see how ridiculous the auto-aim is and how pointless the open space exploration is - you're floating around in empty space and as it is with the rest of the open world, it's the chore of going from A to B by holding a button.
"the way you can swiftly move and explore all your favourite locations..." have you actually tried playing this game after completing the missions? The open worlds are not an asset, but a chore. Enormously large open spaces littered with Kyber bricks. Moving from location to location sucks when you're not doing missions. There is very little exploration in worlds that mostly exist out of copypasted assets.
Thanks for this. The Skywalker Saga Galactic Edition is my first experience with a Lego game so I was curious how they compared. I'm really loving it overall but it is true that it gets quite repetitive. Even a tad more variety in puzzle and combat would've been nice.
The Skywalker Saga has no character creator and Dooku and Palpatine can't use their force lightnings regulary. In my opinion that makes the Complete Saga superior.
I've played both and they're both great in their own rights. The levels are better in TCS but TSS gives you more content outside the missions, they're both excellent and I've really enjoyed playing both of them. 👍
I think that tss lacks in storytelling with levels that are too shorts and also lacks open world enemies: i would love to have imperial dropships coming to attack me in open world. But people forget that for its downsides, tss is really fun, with its open world/galaxy to explore and you can even own and spawn a Death Star, also the open world space combat,
Skywalker saga felt incomplete and extremely inconsistent. Why does everything new and starwars suck. I don’t even play anything outside 1-6 or clone wars since Disney screwed it with no lube
The Complete Saga apart from boss fights and lack of aiming with blasters has much better combat. Deflecting mechanism which is a crucial element in prequel levels since you play as Jedi in every single one of them actually works as it should be contrary to Skywalker Saga where it is too complicated and does not give the right feel in the first place. Also in TCS the minions (battle droids and stormtroopers) only withstand one hit with a blaster or a lightsaber which corresponds better to the film logic and lore in comparison with Skywalker Saga enemies which seem to have too much HP. If you prefer lightsaber combat just stick to the timeless certified classic TCS.
Nah it's way better than the other one. Random encounters in space make it better. Also there's more and newer characters, more collectibles for completionists, better quality and visual effects, a better hub, it even has easter eggs from TCS to honor its game of origin. Not to mention that you can explore many more planets and capital ships.
I gotta hard disagree. Skywalker Saga put way too much of its effort into the open world stuff and it ends up being a really poor representation of star wars as a whole. The pacing if the story is horrendous because so much of it is needlessly skipped over. Each episode would have benefited tremendously from having an additional mission or two, and there are far too many missions where you can just run past everything towards the exit. It feels like a walking sim with some watered down lego gameplay. Complete Saga has plenty of flaws, but it actually does feel like a complete saga.
I like The Complete Saga more but I can respect what the Skywalker Saga did to push forward Lego games as a whole. I like TCS more mainly due to nostalgia and some of the cool things you can do in TCS, like the Bounty Hunter Missions, PVP and unlocking Indiana Jones (For some reason). I feel like TCS even with it’s issues, is still excellent, fun and playable 15 Years Later. I do feel like TSS will be sorta nostalgic after time but not as much as TCS, call me a shill/fanboy for saying that if you like lol. Overall, don’t care what one people prefer, as long as we all can acknowledge the + and - of both games, we’ll all be happy. *I’m in the PAL region and have an NTSC Copy with an Unlocked console please Help*
I did not like the Skywalker Saga cutscenes. The Complete Saga took the cutscenes seriously and did not add random jokes. Plus, the Complete Saga's puzzles and levels were very entertaining to play. I especially enjoyed the extras and the different quirks it gives to each character I use to play. Also, I did not like how the Skywalker Saga makes the enemy kill much longer by giving each enemy a health bar. Just killing the enemies once is far consistent with how Star Wars characters kill each other. Nevertheless, the open world in the Skywalker Saga is amazing and a million times better than the Complete Saga's hub.
After many awesome years of playing Lego Batman, first 3 Lego Star Wars games, lego Indiana Jones, I honestly do not like how over the top animation is, the fighting is weird and just stupid, like I hate the health bar instead of the classic 4 hearts. The combat was simple and fun, skywalker saga is just too confusing for me to understand, and the overwhelming amount of content just takes away from the nostalgic feeling I got all those years ago. Same goes to lego marvel superheroes 2, I hated that game with a passion.
The biggest things I think the CS did better than the SS are how each level and missions are different from one another so it doesn't get repetitive, and the co-op experience is so much better with the camera, and the character selection. I also think the replayability of levels and the customization stand out with the CS is better. But the SS looks amazing and the amount of characters and worlds/ the element of exploration is obviously leaps and bounds better, but I would expect that with a modern game, and one that took years to make.
Cracking Bananas, I was REALLY hoping in regards of the Skywalker Saga, that TT Games was going to do an upgrading combination of The Death Star II attacks as from The Complete Saga with the Prologue in Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens. That would've been sooooooooooooo AWESOME in having that level identically developed as from "Return Of The Jedi" movie. The graphics in how they looked inside the Main Reactor chamber was way, WAAAAAAAY better in the Force Awakens Prologue than from the Complete Saga!
While the complete saga was my favorite star wars game on the wii, i love the skywalker saga much more . More characters, excellent levels ( my top 5 are better call maul, the gungan level, chewbaca and wicket vs the stormtroopers, the battle of exagol, and luke vs and vader vs Palpatine), the hubworlds , and the dogfights. I do however wish they added the customization option but i think the game makes up for it with dlc.
In The Skywalker Sega I will say it’s cool to have an open world & being able to travel to different planets. Also playing as the Wampa & the Rancor is sick & the fact that there’s no stud coin limit as in The Complete Sega it’s 4,000,000 studs. Both are fun games but to me The Complete Sega is just more nostalgic probably I was 9 when it came out. & I was 24 when the new game came out. Nonetheless both are cool.
One thing I Miss in the skywalker saga is that you can’t kill npc’s in the open world and there are no enemies appearing to attack you. My other problem is that lightsabers act more like baseball bat:( i should not have to hit an npc 2 or 3 times with a lightsaber to kill him)
What I like the most about it is the different variations of characters. I would've been pissed if I couldn't play Anakin or Obi-Wan with AND without cape in a such regent game. Plus we can go in space. Not much of a big deal but that's still it. The quality is also good enough. But that's almost it. I don't like the levels, nor the boss fights. They're good in terms of pure gameplay but I don't like the camera being fixed that way. Speaking of the levels, they're either too short or not interesting. The first level of Episode I shouldn't even be a level on its own. Or the Kashyyyk level... I felt it way too short! And the names... "Better Call Maul", "The Droid attack on the Wookies"... I like the references but damn I can't replay the levels when I see this.
The ability to travel planets freely without having to be in a level is one of a hundred reasons TSS is better. People who waited the whole decade+ for this got their moneys’ worth.
"Decade+"? 3 years since the last lego game is not a decade plus. Even if you're considering just Star Wars, (which is a stupid way to judge this) It's only been 6 years.
@@skortle579 Why though? The way you've phrased that makes it seem like there were no other noteworthy or impactful Lego games that people could've played after TCS and before TSS. That would be like saying people waited 16 years for GTA V to release. Braindead opinion.
The Skywalker saga bosses were much better but they could’ve done without the secondary character segments on some of them, especially the mustafar fight.
There are many things Skywalker Saga did right and wrong but there’s two things they messed up that I really liked one was the battle on geonosis with all the Jedi and 2nd was the fight on the flying ships around the sarlac. Both of those things seemed so rushed through I remember both of those things from CS way better than SS. Another thing with CS is that I remember it very well where as the other games I played at the same time 8 to 9 years ago that being rayman origins, Minecraft and Mario games of all of those games CS was the only one I really remember and I think skywalker saga won’t be a game I really remember even 5 years from now because it won’t be memorable the enjoyment isn’t the same. If they ever make another Lego Star Wars game what I think they should do is make the main story first then the open world and take longer to make the game I don’t think fans would be mad if they took 8 to 9 years to make a really good game with good story and open world. One last thing I’d like to say is that skywalker saga was the first open world Lego Star Wars so obviously it isn’t going to be amazing there’s going to be some flaws but there’s just a few to many to just say it’s the first time they tried it.
No Easy The complete saga has 10% of the bugs that they skywalker saga has Has like 2x the content for being like 13 years older Has actual platforming And you can actually die in the game from enemies
Original was better. The boards on this new game was not as fun and some of them are not big but we can not find all the canisters and the hub worlds are to big. My kids never played it, watched me and did nt like it.
I stopped playing the skywalker saga, I just couldn't have fun. You can literally just stand still for 5 minutes and not die because the enemy AI is that bad and does that little damage. They miss 90% of the time. There is no need for cover at all. There is no need for combat at all. Even in the button mashes and forced segments there is 0% chance of failure, the game just doesn't allow you to lose. Plus the levels just aren't that fun to progress through. The platforming element has been completely taken out. The game has no charm or challenge. I just can't play it until they fix this, it's not a game, it's a walking simulator for me. And that hurts to say so much. They need to increase enemies in all levels by an insane amount, they need to improve upon their ai and damage output or at least add a setting where you can get 1 shoted or something and they need to add character customization.
100% agree. Game feels lifeless. When I was done with the story missions and went on the hunt for bricks, the only thing I enjoyed was the graphics and detail and that’s it. The dialogue and jokes are funny but trying to platinum this game doesn’t feel fun
@@baklapjr true, it wasn't made under good conditions, not to mention all the stuff they were changing from the classic lego formula. It's a miracle it came out as ok as it did.
True I also stopped the game after finishing the original triology for quite the same reasons, but besides the fact that the game is incredibely easier, the whole platform-gameplay is barely there, there are NO skills required, it pains me so much theres no challenge at all. Although I still like this game for its freshness and amount of new content, I feel like this game is just, in terms of gameplay and gameplay enjoyement, a generic adventure/action game with a star wars layer, there isnt the lego game feelings. The rest is obviously great, the lore, the open world, engine improvment (wonderful graphisms), yet the gameplay still quite poor and disapointing, TCS gameplay is outplaying SWS one despite its age and how less deep it is, challenge and platforms gameplay are carrying to an upper level.
Level design is the most important thing though. Also, it’s not everything else. Cutscenes are like a crappy ytp. Character classes are a nice idea, but they really just destroy the originality and diversity of almost every character. Puzzles are practically nonexistent. And so on
@@gentlemancharmander4411there are puzzles but they are mainly all re-used. The cutscenes are decent in the game idk why you think TCS had perfect cutscenes they were good sure but I thought the Skywalker Saga had good cutscenes too imo.
My issue is Tt games intentional reluctance to add online multiplayer to their lego titles. Lego star wars TCS had online multiplayer for the whole game, which me and my friend from college played all through covid. After this, it seemed like online was cast aside, and I don’t understand why. Would’ve bought skywalker saga or any other lego game if they added it.
@@fullmetalbleachnote wow i didn’t know that pc doesn’t have it, which is silly. Although i know that there are some services that make all lego games online coop on pc. Still, online multiplayer is such a miss for these games. As it seems they’ve been able to do it for a while.
I love Both games but my only 2 issues with The Skywalker Saga is the no Create your own character and I don’t like how in Free play mode they switch your characters back to the main characters which i hate that because I want to see the cuteness or some moments like in the Count Dooku boss fight when the room goes dark and you have to block his attacks i like I want to see those scenes as the characters you choose but besides from those 2 issues I still love the game

@@charlmorkel3490 yea me neither after getting the stud multiplier maxed i have enough to buy everything 3 times
and i’m not done with the story
Complete saga was definitely a better experience for its time, Skywalker Saga was fun but the missions are too short and there’s not too much of stuff we haven’t already seen
and also the puzzles just suck in the new game.
"For its time" the complete saga is literal shit compared with the skywalkers saga.

@@AidenLiquid how?
@@larniieplayz6285 “did you expect it to be mostly new stuff” what kind of question is that? literally everyone expected it to be new. considering the trailers.

Oh just wait till you need to smuggle stuff around…
@@isaacmarrufo8935 that got tedious really fast

they are not that repetitive. Not too many times, I mean in TCS you repeat doing stuff like that too.
my only issue with the skywalker saga is how short the levels are
They are high quality imo
And some irrelevant. Like the first level of Episode I is you being chased by fishes. And that's it. Previous games had several parts. I remember playing Lego Harry Potter games for example and I still enjoy playing the levels. Same for the Lord of the Rings.
Plus, the names of the levels... Many are jokes (like "Better Call Maul") but... It's too much.
There's nothing to do in the levels. It's just walking from one place to another
for me the skywalker saga has just been disapoiting, not bad, but just disapoiting, as with complete sage it felt like they were focusing on the levels and telling you the story of star wars, where as skywalker feels like they are just giving you snippits of the story and giving you the openworld and side quests. and for me in skywalker the levels have just taken a really big hit which for me was the main point of the lego games the fun levels. a prime example is levels like escaping from theed or the invisible hand, as escaping from theed is litrally just walk down a street and have 3 battles in skywalker, and invisible hand is just walk down some coridors open the doors and boom boss fight and then level over. where as in complete these were full levels
Complete Saga is also pretty repetitive with levels. Half of the levels are not very good and the best levels are the bosses. Complete saga is good but imo Skywalker is miles better.
Your clouded with nostalgia
I love both, I like the complete saga’s gameplay and humour same goes with the skywalker saga it’s just that the skywalker saga levels felt a little short and I wanted to play certain levels like palpatine’s arrest and the battle of endor and blowing up the Death Star II and I wished the in the skywalker saga was a but more serious with a few scenes like qui gon’s death and I wished they didn’t censor violent scenes too much. I also wished they kept R2D2’s flying and stuff. But they are both great and legendary.

It’s a Lego game at the end of the day I didn’t mind it
@@brandonenriquez5222 TL:DR: TSS puts the wrong jokes at the wrong times, many aren't funny or charming and are kind of cringe, some contradict characters' personalities and traits, and they force modern and outdated humor in places they shouldn't be.

The skywalker saga should have focused more on the levels and reduced filler content.

Also the character roster would also be insane
If they really wanted to they could include dlc missions for kenobi fallen order and rebels for more sith characters like vader and inquisitors
A bit of a niche game but considering how well the skywalker saga did maybe after a couple of years

Exactly. I don't see a point in putting all this work in this new combat system if you're just gonna make the ai really easy and bosses all the same
The combat itself is good, it’s just not implemented in a good way that challenges the player
In Lego the clone wars, it was more difficult fighting against the enemies like magnaguards, commando droids, droidekas, superbattledroids and you could get killed a lot of times. In this new one you can slice through superbattledroids as if they are nothing.
The complete saga also didn’t rely completely on its combat like the skywalker saga.

(I did have the gba version of the prequels and the DS version of the original but those don’t really count)
With that I’ll say I prefer the skywalker saga, even if most of the proper levels are pretty short compared to the old ones.
I've played both and both are fantastic but like you said levels being too short and with cut content is kinda unacceptable for the high price point but then again it's way longer and more fun then the older game. But if they added in a character customized that would be amazing. Plus the graphics are so pleasing
Skywalker saga was disappointing for a co-op game. Feels like it was meant to have online co-op and it got scrapped.
I love the effort you put in your videos. I’m always hyped when you drop a video
thanks man (:
Whenever someone talks about the open world they fail to mention how all quests are the same and most kyber brick puzzles are just scavenger tutorials

Episode 7 - Rey’s torture
Episode 8 - Rey’s torture prt 2
Episode 9 - Rey Palpatines death
The Skywalker Saga suffers from the some problem that the other new Lego games do, it dosen't feel like a Lego game
Agree
Skywalker saga having voiced lines ruins it for me. The lego dudes are supposed to pantomime and make noises to communicate. The choice to put voice lines in takes away from the charm.
You can always activate the mumbled mode in extras...
Battle of gianosis is one of my favorite levels, as a child, and now as an adult. Something about it is too charming
That’s honestly my least favorite
Bro it is waay better in Lego the clone wars
The Skywalker Saga is Quantity > Quality. Theres alot of stuff in the game, but most of it isn't worth it.
One thing I THINK you got wrong but so correct me if I’m mistaken is that the combo build ups in TSWS don’t actually make you do more damage, they just give you studs
Why is it for the Star Wars complete saga people say that the characters are yellow but in reality they aren’t I don’t get that
So ive introduced Star Wars to my 5yo daughter who i only see every other weekend. Started with Episode 4 and shes hooked so i started playing the lego skywalker saga with her co-op. I have to say the complete saga is better for anyone wanting to play co-op with a child because she gets too easily lost in the skywalker version.
Complete Saga is miles clear
cri, I wanted more respect toward TCS. I feel like that game is much better than this one and deserves a lot more praise than the new game since it barely has any problems and feels like a complete and unbroken package
This game is so much bigger then TCS, so of course it's going to have bugs
TCS is very flawed, people don’t actually look at its problems. Watch “a critique of the complete saga”.
I don’t like how short the levels were in Skywalker Saga. In my opinion, the larger open world design is fun, but it’s not the same as the individual levels
The open world lacks gameplay. All you can do is walk
Much prefer the same screen dynamic Co-op Camera in the original over the cramped and disorienting split screen of the Skywalker Saga
I literally kept falling asleep while playing the sky walker saga
Same but with Complete Saga. I prefer the newer one.
I like the Skywalker Saga more
You cant fight each other on mustafar, OG is better
You ask me both are worth playing
dude i was playing the first level and was so confused on why it was so short when it was significantly longer in the complete saga
Lego Star Wars invented the modern Lego game and reinvented it
My complaint is puzzles being too easy, which is understandable on easy, as it is for kids, but should be optional to make them a little more challenging.
You forgot to say that all bosses that wield lightsabers in Skywalker Saga are the same
Yeah, basicly copied and pasted, only changed character model
At least the complete saga didn’t have any stupid fcking walking sections in them.
skywalker saga does boss fights better because "bosses have their own moves and at times you will face a bladelock" that made me pause the video and write this.
There is very little exploration in worlds that mostly exist out of copypasted assets.
ngl hat part of the video made me think an AI wrote the script lmao
Thanks for this. The Skywalker Saga Galactic Edition is my first experience with a Lego game so I was curious how they compared. I'm really loving it overall but it is true that it gets quite repetitive. Even a tad more variety in puzzle and combat would've been nice.
skywalker saga = walking through a level to a cut scene,
the original = solving puzzles with loads of fun things to do..

They should make the Classic Obi Wan a Free DLC for everyone! If you agree say I! And let's convince em!
We need character customization in skywalker saga. I wanna make star killer
The Skywalker Saga is good, but I also like The Complete Saga because that game is nostalgic
Skywalker did come out a few months ago that’s why I am waiting for my birthday so then it will be updated.
They can have all the characters they want if there’s no replay ability then does it really matter
Facts.
The ability to travel planets freely without having to be in a level is one of a hundred reasons TSS is better. People who waited the whole decade+ for this got their moneys’ worth.
Hmm yes I love boring open spaces with 3 different things to do.
"Decade+"? 3 years since the last lego game is not a decade plus. Even if you're considering just Star Wars, (which is a stupid way to judge this) It's only been 6 years.
@@PhantomationTV I’m not talking about the last game, I’m talking about TCS which fully released in 2007.
@@skortle579 Why though? The way you've phrased that makes it seem like there were no other noteworthy or impactful Lego games that people could've played after TCS and before TSS. That would be like saying people waited 16 years for GTA V to release. Braindead opinion.
@@skortle579 And TCS is still the better game. Better roster, levels and overall quality control.
everyone saying the skywalker saga levels are too short but i actually liked them shorter the long levels in the original get tedious after a while
Litteraly
Especially when each zone of the levels feel much more polished and detailed whereas in TCS some level areas felt very bland
I feel like a lot of people in the comment section are letting nostalgia do the talking.
Not really man, not really
No everyone in the comments is sucking of shity Skywalker saga
Yet another "nostalgia" npc bot smh
Ong
The Skywalker saga bosses were much better but they could’ve done without the secondary character segments on some of them, especially the mustafar fight.
I think it's so short is cause of last Jedi because idk how you can make 6-8 levels on that movie
No
Easy
The complete saga has 10% of the bugs that they skywalker saga has
Has like 2x the content for being like 13 years older
Has actual platforming
And you can actually die in the game from enemies
Has 10 percent more bugs TCS had an insane amount of bugs
Game wasn't finished and they cut corners everywhere, not strange that it's an empty game.
Although I still like this game for its freshness and amount of new content,
I feel like this game is just, in terms of gameplay and gameplay enjoyement, a generic adventure/action game with a star wars layer, there isnt the lego game feelings.
The rest is obviously great, the lore, the open world, engine improvment (wonderful graphisms), yet the gameplay still quite poor and disapointing, TCS gameplay is outplaying SWS one despite its age and how less deep it is, challenge and platforms gameplay are carrying to an upper level.
Level design: Complete saga
Everything else: Skywalker saga
Level design is the most important thing though. Also, it’s not everything else. Cutscenes are like a crappy ytp. Character classes are a nice idea, but they really just destroy the originality and diversity of almost every character. Puzzles are practically nonexistent. And so on
Plot campain: Complete saga
@@gentlemancharmander4411 and cut the character gallery so more time can spent on a custom character customizer
Wait what? I'm playing TCS on PC and see absolutely NOTHING about online multiplayer
How do you play it online
@@fullmetalbleachnote PS3 and Xbox had it
@@Garry_Combine wow that's annoying
Put it on the freakin steam port aghhhh
@@fullmetalbleachnote wow i didn’t know that pc doesn’t have it, which is silly. Although i know that there are some services that make all lego games online coop on pc. Still, online multiplayer is such a miss for these games. As it seems they’ve been able to do it for a while.
I've only played TCS on DS so I didn't have the full experience
It's still great and fun on DS
I love Both games but my only 2 issues with The Skywalker Saga is the no Create your own character and I don’t like how in Free play mode they switch your characters back to the main characters which i hate that because I want to see the cuteness or some moments like in the Count Dooku boss fight when the room goes dark and you have to block his attacks i like I want to see those scenes as the characters you choose but besides from those 2 issues I still love the game
In Skywalker Saga so many lvls is too short... in Lego TCS lvls was very good. For me SS have too many humour... in TCS this was good balanced
To Be Honest I Love Complete Saga Better Then Skywalker Saga
