You can technically play as half burned Anakin. Because after you played the Anakin vs. Kenobi level, that head is available for your custom character.

I was thinking the same thing, maybe it was also easier to position the camera in the proper place when you're supposed to be near them in cutscenes by making you first person "As" the set piece?

That means you can only lift it up with a Sith character. If you lift it up it reveals a bottomless pit. Find one of those spider things and ride it over to the pit and fall down with it. When you respawn you’ll respawn as the spider character.
I think it makes sense why the crane would be a playable character. My guess would be that whenever you get into a crane cockpit, there's a trigger that automatically switches you to play as the crane. So instead of trying to make a controllable entity, they just made it a playable character that you otherwise wouldn't be able to access. The same thing goes for stuff like Taun tauns and Banthas.
@Seth Blair I believe it’s called extra toggle, in some levels on free play mode if you turn it on it will add characters that can’t be played typically. I know the buzz droid is one of them, I believe the training droid is another one and so is a skeleton
a lot of the "characters" such as the curtain and magnet are probably playable as they are classes as sprites which are what playable characters are as it is easier to program them to move in the cutscenes.

The "spaceman" in the Cantina is just someone wearing a style of armour. It's old (seeing as Rum Sleg used a similar style in Ep 1), but presumably that makes it cheap, and it's still somewhat effective. It's by no means what we'd think of as a "space suit".
I remember there is a way to play as the car in the hub area. You need to turn on extra toggle, then when someone is riding the car, go next to it and use the transform button

I've messed with the files for this game myself, and I remember that there were traces of Darth Plagueis being there. IIRC there was no model or anything, so definitely not playable but he has his own character file. He had access to every panel type as well

I know I'm like a year late, but I attempted something similar a while ago and it doesn't work. Not because it can't be done, but because the posing and elements of a lot of characters will completely obstruct your view. Think of those giant "Rock Raiders" style blasters the clones, et al. use, those are the biggest problems with that kind of camera mod.
2:19 as someone who own both LSW 1 and 2 before the complete saga came out, it was really cool having 2 Darth Vaders, one with Anakin's lightsaber style and one with Vader's later style

I would have loved to be a dev in one of these games, where it was all about the fanservice and the creativity and the story and not just the in-app purchases.
It amazes me that this game is over 13 years old, and people are still finding all sorts of crazy secrets and enjoying the game. I also think its crazy that these character models are playable, have animations and can interact with the environment. I also think its funny how things have evolved from being an extra toggle/secret character to being purchasable (remember Gryffindor boy/girl?) I understand what people are saying about the 'Extra Toggle', but before this video I thought they were only playable in a specific level (eg. The Buzz Droid was only available in the 'Chancellor in Peril' level).
Fun fact. Me and linterni found a yellow LEGO Jedi from an early build I provided on 360. I believe it was Anakin or Obiwan. The yellow character concept was scrapped very early and it was rare to even have our minds in the right place to look at this copy of the game.
Could the duvet / blanket have possibly been from episode 2 when Padme gets attacked by the worms from Zam in her room? the only theory I've heard about it is Anakin waking up from his nightmare but I don't think TT ever would've set up that particular scene (as its mostly a talking scene anyway).
I'm pretty sure that the 21B Surgical Droid shares at least the walking animation with Droid 3 from the extra toggle, the B'ommar Monk is a rideable character in the Jabba's palace level, and I'm pretty sure the Buzz Droid is part of the extra toggle in some levels. Besides that, your video was pretty well made and I enjoyed it.
A few of these are actually playable in the base game, like the bomarr monk for example, but they are not purchasable ala the store, you would need the extra characters option turned on in the red brick list
if memory serves, ignoring the fact that most of the parts (save for the hands) are available for custom characters, the intended way to play as Scarred Anakin was basically as a replacement for Indiana Jones in versions of the game released after the IJ license expired + it'd be weird to have an advertisement for a wii game that had come out years prior anyway

3:06 I'm pretty sure it's a mount because in the version of lego star wars, the complete saga I have, you can sometimes find it in a certain area in the level where you save han solo from being frozen, and sometimes you can ride it around but it kicks you off after about 20 seconds
5:25 All he's actually really missing is textures, animations and an icon. His head, face and body's Normals are flipped meaning they can only see from inside. Models are usually one way, you can look inside a model and see outside. When you flip a model's Normals it inverts that so you can look outside and only see it inside.
1:58 Fun fact, this version of Anakin is actually playable in the mobile version of The Complete Saga! My best theory as to why, is that they put him in to replace Indiana Jones, since you can't unlock Indy in the mobile port.
I vaguely remember that in the first Lego Star wars the one that was just the prequel trilogy you actually ride Yoda's chair when you play as yoda. When you put away your lightsaber and jump once he jumps into his chair so he can move around faster since he moves so slow with just his cane. They took it out in the complete saga for some reason but they made him move faster so I guess that was the fix.

Fun fact. Me and linterni found a yellow LEGO Jedi from an early build I provided on 360. I believe it was Anakin or Obiwan. The yellow character concept was scrapped very early and it was rare to even have our minds in the right place to look at this copy of the game.
I always thought Han just took Landos clothes and kept them after winning the falcon but they didn't really seem like Landos style.
Could the duvet / blanket have possibly been from episode 2 when Padme gets attacked by the worms from Zam in her room? the only theory I've heard about it is Anakin waking up from his nightmare but I don't think TT ever would've set up that particular scene (as its mostly a talking scene anyway).

I'm pretty sure that the 21B Surgical Droid shares at least the walking animation with Droid 3 from the extra toggle, the B'ommar Monk is a rideable character in the Jabba's palace level, and I'm pretty sure the Buzz Droid is part of the extra toggle in some levels. Besides that, your video was pretty well made and I enjoyed it.

A few of these are actually playable in the base game, like the bomarr monk for example, but they are not purchasable ala the store, you would need the extra characters option turned on in the red brick list

if memory serves, ignoring the fact that most of the parts (save for the hands) are available for custom characters, the intended way to play as Scarred Anakin was basically as a replacement for Indiana Jones in versions of the game released after the IJ license expired + it'd be weird to have an advertisement for a wii game that had come out years prior anyway

I'm pretty sure it's a mount because in the version of lego star wars, the complete saga I have, you can sometimes find it in a certain area in the level where you save han solo from being frozen, and sometimes you can ride it around but it kicks you off after about 20 seconds
5:25 All he's actually really missing is textures, animations and an icon. His head, face and body's Normals are flipped meaning they can only see from inside. Models are usually one way, you can look inside a model and see outside. When you flip a model's Normals it inverts that so you can look outside and only see it inside.

Gasgano looks to me like his model is inverted. One can make out the features of his face when his face-side is turned away, for example.
1:58 Fun fact, this version of Anakin is actually playable in the mobile version of The Complete Saga! My best theory as to why, is that they put him in to replace Indiana Jones, since you can't unlock Indy in the mobile port.
Buzz droid is extra toggle, and the spider monk thing can be found in Jabba's palace.

I vaguely remember that in the first Lego Star wars the one that was just the prequel trilogy you actually ride Yoda's chair when you play as yoda. When you put away your lightsaber and jump once he jumps into his chair so he can move around faster since he moves so slow with just his cane. They took it out in the complete saga for some reason but they made him move faster so I guess that was the fix.
