I are getting ready to make the Ole Man's 1968 Ford F150 "Ole Red" up and running again. We need to install the newly freshen up with Ford 360fe engine. It is going to gone through, timing chain, gears, oil pump, water pump, and a new paint job. Will it go in the truck easily? Will it work well when installed? Will it turn a tire over when installed? What do you think of the finished product? All these questions answered on this episode of RevStoration.

I had '75 f250 with a 390 and I put a rod through the block on the way home from work on Friday afternoon. I found a local shop with a 360 and put the engine in by myself on a gravel driveway at -11f. The only reason the 390 blew is because someone didn't tighten the rod cap bolts on one rod. Thank you for the great work you and your dad do!

When I did my 68 F250 I but the engine back in with the transmission attached and yes I had the front clip all on the truck you just have to angle the tail in first than use a jack on the tranny readjust chains and slide it all back and yes you need a friend to assist. Great video Rev!

Excellent video Rev :) , Ole Man Eugene :) also got get oil pressure sensor in too and lots fix up still do plus headers hook be better on Clutch pedal also spinning tires better too ! Paint up floor after metal work done use primer then strong paint too!

Few more little tweaks and it'll be a good little truck.
I put brass like the original has instead of the new roller bearing for the piolet bearing . I barely made it home with my truck and had a bearcat of a time getting it out their no lip so bread trick wont work
This one was solid like the original a d yes the roller bearing style needs a pulled.. no fun.
That cutoff could be if it had a camper in the back. Camper special

Craigs list rebuild paint it will work. If it runs as nice as it looks its going to be alright. Hey is that HEI off of a Cheverlet??? It does run as good as it looks. I will be happy to hear what it sounds like after you attach the Headers. Look at another 68 to see how the solenoid wiring goes. Your going to need to go buy another 68 ford truck to see how it goes LOL I love that old truck it is a good one.
They make HEI distys for Fords as well, I got the same exact one for mine, but it stopped working, Cheap ebay chinese junk lol. I put my stock one back in with a Pertronix electronic ignition kit in it to replace the points

I’ve had my 390 in and out 3 times. I never pulled the transmission. I done it by myself and I’m s few years older than you and half crippled . It works fine.
Edit, I never put that top starter bolt in. I like puddins fab shop’s theory, it 2 won’t hold it, 3 never would. It’s been in the truck almost 8 years so he’s right
The automatic transmission and the manual trans is a little different. Is yours an automatic?

@@RevStoration the only thing I took loose on the transmission was the 4 bolts into the bell housing. I didn’t remove center hump or anything. I jacked the transmission up as high as I could. I slid the motor into the bell housing then sat it down in the mounts. I had to wiggle and shake it a little bit but not over 5 minutes and she jumped in flush.
I live fairly close to you up in Morgan county, I’m interested to know if you have any manifolds and a two barrel carburetor for 360 FE.

All too familiar with Fords FE motors, I've owned or built 390, 427, 428cj and starters and headers were the bain of my existence. The 390 I built for a friend in his rollback car hauler probably the easiest, no headers. The 427 I owned was in a 66 Mercury Cyclone GT with four speed manual. The 428cj was in a 67 Fairlane GTA and I had it longer and did more to it. Motor was far from stock and high compression of 13.7 to one it ate starters.

What I do with all of my automobiles that have standard transmission I pull the transmission with the engine then when I put the engine back in the transmission is on the engine that way I don't have to fight to git it all to lined up it saved me from getting Gray hear lol . you need to get some blue zip ties that way it will look good and with the blue zip ties you will gan 50hp lol

love the ol fe's youtube ch i watch here in Aussileand is [PETE ANDERSON ] loves his OL Henrys ,ecently he got an ol fe 352 but he measured stroke its a 390 must of put 352 on some of the fe's its a bit of a guess if you follow me . take care REV AND KIN LOVIN YOUR Efforts.
All fe engines are 352 blocks. Bored differently and different stroke.
