I feel like Smosh is back to being good now, it just feels off because it's been years since we had a normal era of Smosh, and everything looks different now
Well alot of the new fans are not into the old Smosh, as the "Try not to Laugh" series proved really successful, then "Funeral Roasts", "Reunion Specials", and "Eat it or Yeet It" It's just the content is different And so it feels like now that Anthony is back they'll have content for the og fans and the new ones A sort of ... Shaking if the hands in terms of compromise, (If you Will)
Honestly, liking how elaborate the sketches became, have a bit more sharper focus, and basically being themselves as well. Also I didn't know that stop copying me video was a remake or say some other things were similar, so that was a fresh and weird look to go over XD
I feel like they really diving on the nostalgia, but not fully relying on it, the video similarities is actually a very good move on their part, seeing that the fans are gonna click expecting something they watched in the past but they get something different from it. For example: The Evil AI video resembles the Paranormal Easy Bake Oven video in the thumbnail, but it' a entirely diffent story and tone, same goes for the Sleepwalking Disaster video. They are acknowledging their past and nostalgia but still not fully relying on it(The Help, I Became A NPC is good proof of it), They don't reusing the same jokes and stories(with exception of the "Stop Copying me" video remake), they just used the similarities to catch back older viewers, it's a genius move in my view.
Its like we all had very similar childhoods if you grew up on the internet. And compared to kids in present times growing up with the internet, its completely different to what we experienced
ive watched the smosh content from the past few years and i genuinely really enjoy the cast that theyve had and it sucks the way that people undervalue them, like shayne, noah, keith, courtney and olivia who've been around for sO long now. i think it didnt do badly cuz it was bad but because it just wasnt smosh anymore. like, the smosh pit channel has really been doing great especially in comparison to what the smosh main channel was doing. a lot of the cast comes from an acting or sketch comedy background thats why they leaned into the improv so much, which i think they did super well, but it just wasnt the content people came to smosh for. i think that the main channel content from this past year (lets do this, idiots present) couldve done a lot better if it were coming from another channel, cuz smosh is so tied to the old sketch style stuff. i hope that the rest of the cast get opportunities to write sketches for main- they have some really fucking good ideas that they r talked about in the podcast that they do
Smosh has really used its creative knowledge to perfection. They used there old comedy but put a new twist on it so they are up to date. I really love smosh right now (p.s the cupcake joke had me dying 😂) great vid man I need more of your vids
Ive been loving their content in both Main and Pit! I hope we start seeing more of the Smosh Crew in this new Ian & Anthony Sketches like back in 2015-2016!!
They're comedy is endearing to me, not really funny, but its wholesome. I probably won't be a regular veiwer unless they really evolve their contet and do something new, but if they keep making this type of content because thats what they enjoy, then I hope they can find an audience that genuinley appreciates it.
That's Fair but I think you're underplaying how successful their "Try Not to Laugh" videos have gotten, the improv comedy is kinda what held them up for a while Alof of people who didn't grow up with smosh like those videos because the humor is different, your right the old smosh videos don't hold up, because nobody cares for immature humor like fart jokes when they're past 12... So for me this is kind of like meeting in the middle Asking for money to produce the sketches that old fans (might) like And producing the real money with improv sketches and ya know... Actual comedy
i dont think that you can make a video on "is smosh good", that is completely objective. Like yes it was bad when it was corporate, but saying old smosh is bad is your opinion and its not meant to be good quality videos, its just two friends having a laugh at a funny joke they made up the people happened to notice. Post-corportate smosh is the same thing so i think its too subjective to dictate weather its good or bad
It's like a reboot and revival, it's like on "Ground Zero" or "Level 1" at the moment, the Sketches are "boring" cause they don't have the charm of the OG, plus the other characters besides the Ian cop aren't there. But i think at some point they'll get the hang of it and produce bangers on the same levels as old smosh! It's all a matter of time!

I'm genuinely happy old fans get to see Anthony again He was on "Try Not to Laugh" which was epic and I see this as a Form of meeting in the middle, A shaking of the hands, a compromise that the channel would make old Smosh content funded by the fans Whilst also keeping the current fans and the money maker of the channel afloat
Well as someone who grew up with original smosh, and after they got bough by Rhett and Link (defy era sucked ass.) I liked all the improv things they were uploading to the channel. The funeral roasts, Let's Do This, Smosh Exes, Reunions, and even some of the sketches that they did. Not everything they did was a hit, but to me at least, it was not shit. Smosh Games? All the people have such chemistry that not matter what they play their interactions are always so fun to watch. Smosh Pit? they oversaturate some of their series but I still love watching them together enough that I love it. I do like the new sketches but they are definitely still getting the hang of things, and yeah the Anthony Becoming an AI is the best one so far.

Smosh is getting better since they bought it again but the old ones will still be in my heart.

Dude I’ve been watching smosh since I was 6, it’s not as good as it once was. But with Anthony coming back it’s almost as good as it once was.
