I have used the soap cutter for a few months now. Using the Smith Creek soap cutter is so easy and has increased my production. The wide base is perfect for larger slabs which I can slit and cut into individual bars. It is a great all-in-one tool (It is doubles as loaf splitter and soap cutter). Unlike other splitters, the flat base guarantees total control for my 20 pound slabs. It is a reasonably priced which is really important to me. I have limited space in my work room so this was a major concern for me. I am able to store the cutter flat on a bottom shelve and pull it out when I need it. It has been perfect for me and I can’t image making soap without it. If you are looking for a cost efficient way to maximize productivity, you should purchase this soap cutter.
I just got done making one of these. Very similar anyhow. I bought some guitar strings on Amazon for 4.?? and also got 6 of the string winder keys for a little of nothing on Amazon as well. I just did a test cut with mine and WOW. It's amazing I also made a soap trimmer/bevel maker and that is amazing as well. This whole thing was made out of a 2 x 4 ft. piece of 3/4 inch A/C plywood and a 2 x 2 ft. piece of 1/2 inch A/C. I did make some changes and I may have beefed mine up a little, but WOW, I AM IMPRESSED with the way this thing cut and the QUALITY of the cut on the soap. I might make a few of these and test the market. I now know a few little tricks and the next ones would go much easier and quicker. And now....time for a celebration cocktail. I just have to figure out what I want to finish it with tomorrow.
Can you put all the loves back on after 90 degree turn then slice the bars through all the loaves at one time? No reason not to do that, right? I would love to have one of these. Best concept I've seen. When you sliced that first loaf then magically pulled that shelf back that was holding the loaf I was like "WHAAAAT!?!?" I'm sold. Can you give a price estimate for your 2017 model, please?
