  • The Spyderco Manix 2 XL in DLC coating is a phenomenal large every-day carry knife. It fills the roles of the utility, outdoors, and defensive pocket knife very well and over the past few years has proven to be a durable choice.
    From the Diamond Like Coating finish to the well designed shape, this knife has proven itself to be a jack of all trades kind of tool and shows little sign of breaking down. Even with all Kevin has put it through. While the s30vn steel is quite tough to sharpen, it holds an edge well and in the salty air of Virginia Beach, resists corrosion like a boss.
    This knife was originally purchased from KnifeCenter.com a while back. While they had nothing to do with this video, they provided excellent customer service and quick shipping. The link to this knife through them is posted below.

    I can't belive you didn't mention it's ambidextrous? I'm a lefty , the Manix 2XL has been my EDC for 6yrs now. By far my favorite knife I've ever carried. The Ball Bearing lock is amazing , it's performance has been flawless. Once I played with it for a while I became very good with it & prefer it over the Axis any day !

      @@LB-np5zv honestly I really like the VG10. Maintenance for the use VG10 holds an edge pretty long & is easy to sharpen. After I bought the Spyderco sharpening kit & was able to sharpen the S30V with ease I've got to say I really like this steel. S35V is supposed to be even better. My father has the Manix 2 lightweight with Maxamet & says it's the longest lasting with the sharpest edge he's ever had. I hope that helps 👍

    I am strongly considering a Spyderco Mannix like this because of ease of deployment. I was wondering if you would consider doing a review on the spyderco sharpmaker. I hear they are excellent. I have the Lansky Box Sharpener which works great. It is my understanding that the edge is at 15 degrees on Spyderco folding knives but the Lansky only goes down to 20. I might be wrong on this but it would be worth looking into. I subscribed to your channel and liked this video.

      Hello there Roberthurz. Thanks for the comment. I can tell you that even after as long as I've carried the knife, the Manix still opens very smoothly and with little effort so I would still recommend it to you to buy! Thank you again for the sub and like!
      This is actually the first time I have heard of the Sharpmaker by Spyderco. I have actually not had a chance to try using a sharpening system like that on my knives. We would definitely consider reviewing one in the future, especially if we are able to obtain one specifically for review. Thanks again for tuning in!

      Roberthurz the Sharpmaker is a great system for sharpening all sorts of knives and I believe all Spydercos are at 20 degrees per side. I’ve used my Sharpmaker to keep my pocket knives as well as my kitchen knives screaming sharp and it’s always been easy to use and works great

    You cannot go wrong with Spyderco. I have never been disappointed anytime I've bought or been given one. I can honestly say the same with the US made Kerahaws too though. Benchmades I cannot make that claim.....I've bought two auto who both broke two springs and a Griptillian that broke an Omega spring.....the auto knives I had to send back to the factory....$7 each time and an hour drive one way to the dealer (cannot ship autos in or out of the state they're made in.....??? because blah blah bunch of dumb shit yada yada)......needless to say.....I own NO Benchmade knives anymore.....nor will I ever..outside of a full tang blade.....but I will gladly support the fine Glesser family and all the wonderful workers at the Spyderco Co......as well as KAI.

      Technically you could use any knife for self defense, even a sushi knife.
      Not that you should, but you could.
      That spyderco would do a better job at it than many other knives though.

    • @andriusduksta5744
      @andriusduksta5744 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@pf333 , my point was that NO KNIFE EVER should be considered a tool for self defense. If you seriously think about using a knife for self-defense when you buy one, you really need to get a clue before you get in serious trouble. A knife is a tool at first, an OFFENSIVE weapon second, but it is NEVER a good option for defense.
