Neeves Knives they’re great. There were some scratches on the pivot of the hooligan but I’ve taken 3k grit sp to it and given it a brushed look. Kinda nice. The Para3 lw has grown on me and I get it as far as the fidget factor goes. More so than many of my other spydercos’ (the smock still rules). Thanks for the trade. Your shout out has also lit up my channel a bit. Thanks!!
The Manix2 is the knife that really brought my attention to Spyderco. Finally picked up the XL Manix earlier this year. Lives up to the very high expectations for great ergonomics.
Yeah its a great one, with the titanium cage it would be soo much stronger, then the scales would really take it over the top, but i dont like the thought of the plastic cage breaking
@@wigglywrigglydoo - I thought so. I have 5 Manix2s and still bought the XL, of course the XL I got is in M4 and the price was right, so it was an easy choice for me.
@@Abby_Normal_1969, thanks Abby. I've been eyeing the s110v but kept running onto posts about ppl snapping the blade from medium use. Might consider M4 when it's back again
Titanium scales are going to be sweet onthis Manix2XL !!! When I finally got my M4 Manix 2XL’s I was very surprised at how fast it became my favorite Spyderco. I was surprised that it had the same thickness as the standard Manix2 and that it wasn’t a pocket hog like thought it would be. It’s been getting pocket time over my PM2, Para3, Smock, Amalgam, Shaman & standard Manix2. It just gives me confidence in its ability to hold up to hard use plus that awesome large leaf shape blade is fantastic. A whole lot of M4.
I completely agree i wound up getting the scales and cage on my regular manix 2 and im loving it, ive decided to keep this one as is, but might eventually get the cage, these knives are super solid
Manix 2XL is my favorite EDC folder I've ever owned. Find the sprint run M4 blade steel , Upgrade to carbon scales , the Flytanium ball cage , back spacer & liners !? You have arguably the best EDC knife of all time !
Damn that sounds fire, I definitely have to, id love to have the m4 version, but the one thing id change is ti scales, man this is going to be fire if i can getm
I have the Manix 2 XL in CPM M4 and absolutely love it. Scott at Big Bore Knife and Gear did an awesome anodizing job on the Ball Cage and scales. Freaking awesome knife.
I did exactly what you're planning to do, with a purple titanium ball cage. I'm waiting on purple titanium screws, too. Only little problem I have is I can't get the blade centered. It came to me like that, about 70% 30%. I don't know how many times I took it apart and put it back together trying to get it centered.
"Family party, - yelling" well that makes me think of at least 2 possibilities. ha ha ;-) I recognize that stubborn streak you mentioned, it abides with me too. I have been pondering the Mannix 2 but hearing so much about the XL I'm wondering if that would suit me better. Just a thought.
The Manix is my favorite, my XL is the only one without a Ti ball cage (besides the LW’s obviously), because Flytanium has been out of them. XL was the second one that I purchased and I now have 7.
Wow! 7 im late to the party but im loving this one no less, i know id like a regular size but Im starting with this one, I can only imagine how strong this would be with the ti cage and then with the ti scales, no doubt way stronger
Neeves Knives I’m just patiently waiting on Flytanium or White Mountain Knives to turn up with some before too long. They are a rare commodity at this moment...
Heck yeah, this has been my go to knife since it was released. It's not quite as easy to disengage with just the thumb like Axis folders are, but whatever. I'm quite sure you're aware, but these knives are a bit challenging to deal with when putting them back together... that and the press fit for the scales at the lanyard hole does make changing scales a bit of a challenge as well.
Dude I cannot believe I didn’t think of the manix when u said u wanted a titanium knife with something similar to the axis lock but without omega springs! So shout out to ever said that!! Lol 😂. When u get done with it, it will definitely be awesome!
If you buy one today, yeah. Mick quit doing production runs years ago if I'm not mistaken, so now you would be stuck with custom work and the price of custom is always insane. I had a production SMF a long time ago, and tbh I wasn't very impressed, the framelock slided a bit and the thickness impaired the cutting performance imho.
The Manix 2 is one of my favorite spydercos no doubt, however the original button/cage was so annoying to use and will cost you $50+ for a damn piece of button, so I gave up
I’ve owned one myself for about five years. I’m not going to say I hate it, but it’s not worth the money you pay IMO. It has a tendency for blade play, and I’ve read many reviews from others claiming the same. The locking system is good for “tactical” use, but it’s the reason for the blade play. I don’t recommend it for the price they ask.
That is another one that I eventually want to get, I love the griptillian so im definitely going to, i want it to be a stonewashed then an aftermarket clip that would be sick
I got one, with the black blade. It’s big, it’s slicey, it’s awesome! 🎉
Awesome. So Happy to see that! Awesome. Loved the knives! Thanks!
Hopefully you enjoy the ones you received let me know soon how its going

And you can get titanium copper or brass for the scales and ball cage
The lock on the Manix is to stiff when you first get them, but they do soften up a lot. Sounds like a very interesting mod.
Yeah since i got this one second in new condition its already softened because it feels perfect

Flytanium under 150 for the scales and cage
