Yeah a bit painful but I was glad I could pull it out and keep on with the session. 90cm flatty and 42 bream are seriously good fish that’s awesome. It is so much fun especially when you see them race up and have a crack.
Hell I felt that just watching it! Not ideal! Wallis Lake sure has plenty of Flatties of all sizes! And how goods a surface strike on a Flattie! Them big girls sure play up big time! Great day on the water!
Hahaha, yeah I could feel it as I was editing that segment i was watching it and thinking “you idiot, why are you holding it like that”. It is a very healthy waterway these days, it went through a bit of a slump many years ago but it’s definitely fishing well these days. Cheers mate 🎣
"This is gunna hurt like a mother"... understatement of the year. This is something I'll have to give a crack next time I'm at the salt looks fun. And after seeing your young fella on those pliers I won't be taking him fencing haha
Hahaha you got that right but the relief came pretty soon after. You should mate, it’s bludy awesome. I have no idea how or why he was struggling so much they are awesome cutters. I could feel every one of those shakes, he’s definitely not gonna make a fencer
@@DanWebberFishing here's a thought... do you think the bend minnow would go good on cod? I've recently got a few after watching a bit of flathead stuff, I reckon they might fool a few cod.
@@DougKelly2828 I ran one on a recent trip with the boys but it was a fairly tough bite and we only got the one boof off the top on a paddler so it wasn’t really a good test for it. I will definitely be testing them some more. I’d like to give them a run on a river like the Ovens river
Nice video some tasty fish there! The way you pulled that hook out of your finger was Gangster AF! You could of done a bit of a thug life thing with the sunglasses and gold chain superimposed on you and a bit of gangster rap music.😎
Yeah it was a painful mistake I probably deserved it for being lazy when handling, I got sick of searching for the pliers which never seem to end up in there spot. Happy I could yank it out and fish on.
according to the insurance add, you are meant to launch the boat doing at least 20km/h in reverse, maybe you need to practice this a bit more because there's nothing wrong with the fishing skills.
Yeah a bit of complacency cost me here thats for sure. (And maybe because the boys hadn’t put the pliers back in their spot for the 10th time that day 😆)
Nice fishing boys. Gees Dan I cringed & felt the pain when u pulled the hook out. Cheers
Thanks mate, I cringed re watching and putting that part of the video together I think I may have even looked away once or twice.
What a fun trip Dan! Apart from the whole hook thing.
Yeah it was great, the hook was only temporary pain although it did throb for a few days afterwards but not enough to slow me down.
OUCH!!!!, I love topwater fishing with Bent minnows. 90cm fathead my PB. 42cm bream. you can't beat the take on top water.

Hahaha gangster
Happened to me too. Never reach for the hooks in the flatly if the rear hooks are swinging free. A painful lesson.

Have you tried or thought of trying the large bent minnow for cod.
I’ve definitely been tinkering with it, no success yet but I’ll keep at it and see if they will raise them.
Damm Dan, I was feelin that
Good session on some nice fish.
I don't know, how would they go in dirty water ?
Yeah that was a bit rough. I’m not 100 percent mate but if it’s like chasing Murray Cod then they will still be very effective in the dirty water.

I’ll have to give it a try, 😁.
Dude use a pair of plier to de hook your fish 😂

Yep I know the feeling, got two boys myself 😂
@@SouthCoastChompers i definitely don’t have to explain then. I love fishing with them but they can test the patience
Hand holds fish, pliers hold hooks.
Great advice, unfortunately we get complacent sometimes and sometimes we pay for it
