Point is, Final Rush is an incredibly well thought out level, so to think none of the decisions were intended is just not true.
@@Gameplayer-vm5ml I totally agree with you that Final Rush is an incredibly well-thought level. however, if you go and play to the point with the rail and glass, it's clear that the placement of the glass is actually meant to stop you from just falling off the edge like that, and that the gap is actually impossible to go through unless you're going at a high enough speed and just at the right angle. If the developers actually intended for the gap to use as a challenged I fully believe that it would have worsened the overall level, not because it was a challenge but because it would be cheap. also, that extra path you mentioned its just used to get more rings and a higher a faster time just like with almost every shortcut in this game.

Sonic Adventure 2 was one of the first 3d platformers in gaming history that runs at 60 fps and pushed the Dreamcast hardware to the limits. Impressive graphics for a 1998 console. When it comes to the GameCube port, the gameplay remains the same, but with the difference of more polys (which made the characters disgusting for me, because looked FAT in comparison to the beautiful models on the original DC game), fps was a little bit improved for cutscenes and new games modes. But i don't like the Battle port as much as i love the Dreamcast original. Considering both run at 480p 60 fps, i prefer the Dreamcast version, also the 480p looks superior in comparison to the other 6th gen consoles because of the VGA Box, which looks better than composite (though falls behind the HD 720P or 1080i visual resolution of the Xbox). Didn't have a chance to do these, unfortunately. Like I mentioned, I wanted to focus on the physical ones atm. Maybe along the line I will continue there.

I feel I’ve played this game on a-lot of platforms. Dreamcast being my 1st console as a child. So when the PS3 came out I had it on there & so on. Dreamcast I played it 2 years ago & was shocked how much better it looked vs anything else. Newer consoles stretch the image, & fill in pixels. The Gamecube when I played it theres a bug my 11 year self will always remember. It was the ultimate battle against the lizard with popping the bubbles to get the button, I could not beat it as you fall through the button. However the Dreamcast does not have that issue. Also SA1 theres a boss battle against egg-man as well, where platforms fall and he steam rolls you off. Theres a bug where Sonic will fall from jumping through eggman. I always like the updated cutscenes and models. But the Dreamcast version will always be my favorite. They also came out with better controls if people are complaining about gameplay. I mean not back in the day. But now theres way better ways to play these games. The Dreamcast really was a special console. Without it we would not be where we are with gaming.
@@Jimmbobyy Well, that's more problematic than you think. Speeps had to do a lot of stuff to the Battle cutscenes (and some things can't be fixed that easily), I even asked them if they could update the mod and they told me that until some advancements in modding SA2 are done, they can't do much more than that. But the main issues are at least fixed (especially that Rouge cutscene). Also, no longer do the characters outside the original 4:3 go into a t-pose or don't move.
To be honest if they were to remaster this game and put it on PC. I would just add the lighting back. Diminish the volume when it comes to the opening sequence. (That shit traumatized me got PTSD or some shit from it always kept forgetting the damn audio was loud as shit for the opening) And lastly fix the glitches you get with the space levels.
the gamecube version has its ups, but i still MASSIVELY prefer the dreamcast version. a thing i almost never see brought up is the DC version actually had a browser and DLC that never made it to battle, the DC's analog stick is a LOT more precise which makes it easier to use with a modern controller, and even with the PC version modded, the grind rail system is still broken, and the content battle added is negligible. battle mat be better in terms of content, but its *still* a bad port.
I think the GameCube was supposed to be more powerful on paper than all 3. Ports on the PS2 always looked pretty bad, the game Cube always looked similar, but the DC had some graphical extras up its sleeve that made the games look unique.
I personally don't think a single officially released version of SA2 even holds a candle to the fun of SA1. Vanilla, I'd go as far to say it's clunky, unfun shit. Modded however, is an entirely different story.
OG Dreamcast SA2 i got xmas 2001 Fucking Luv that game n still have it Its tha only one i have n will ever play Never touched Battle, wish they didn’t port tha game but wutever SA2 is universal

It's awesome to see the results of all that suffering you did on stream
You guys helped me in so many more ways man. It was......hard to play due to its arcahic nature but I wanted to see it done! I needed to
@@Kelphelp I felt kinda bad for you when you did the Dreamcast version because that one was notoriously buggy. By the way, I think the Steam version might be the Dreamcast port
@@ProXYOneCreations Whoa what?! The Steam is based on the DC?! Oh god that.....is not good at all so that means its extremely buggy and wonky. But isn't it advertised as Sonic Adventure Battle 2?
@@Kelphelp The "Battle" part is like a 5 dollar dlc. But yeah, I'm pretty sure it's the DC for the base game, because I noticed stages that I had some extreme difficulty with that I never had issues with before, such as the one Sonic stage where you mes with gravity and walk on the ceiling. Sonic was extra wonky on that one.
@@ProXYOneCreations Low-key kinda wanna vomit if that's true. We don't need anymore DC version in our lives. Maybe i do need to revisit this again
So no big add-on? I had 1 and two on DC and always wondered about that version
Not in the way you think. 2 on Gamecube has all of the add-ons and special events into it as well that wasn't in the DC version, so if you are curious on that, those versions have a culmination of everything.
@@Kelphelp "special events"? What would those be?
@@TheBohobemeister Hmmm if I remember correctly, think they were timed events or something. I don't really know this aspect well so bear with me on that. My info isn't accurate for that.
@@Kelphelp The only "special events" I can think of in SA2/SA2B are things that can happen in the Chao Gardens, some involving an item won in the Chao Races, a Skill the Chao learned in Chao Kindergarten, or a default thing the Chao can do.
For a side thing, there's a surprisingly large amount of extra stuff to the Chao Gardens.

"Going around at the speed of sound....."
ITS ROLLING!
Alright so how about
Going around, rolling and tumbling ad boom boom speed :3
GCN has the better models; but Dreamcast does some visual effects better.
Exactly. So its either one or the other in physical form to see which version suits everyone the most :/
No way, sonics eyes look so big and ugly compared to the original ones... More polygons doesn't always mean better models
I mean at this point it's pretty much personal opinion. So whatever you feel
@@Kelphelp yeah, grow up playing DC version and when I tried hd version Sonic's model felt a bit odd, like if something was out of place
Wound up here after revisiting the R-cade games fb page XD How is it that you can go so in depth on each game??? I'm sure it takes a lot of work. Very well made vid!
Now that's a name I haven't heard in a loooongggggggg time. Good times at the store.
And I play each one pretty meticulously and get info as much as I can. Something ya gotta do right? Thanks for watching man.
@@Kelphelp Definitely good times. Sorry for always calling into the store for yugioh rulings 😂
Well, looks like ya still have the same passion for games like ya always have. I’m sold! Will be following your work, man.
Never left me one bit and if anything just got bigger as time passed man. I appreciate you watching man, haven't stopped here and more shall come!
Good comparison just like the last. Next time you should compare the PS2, GameCube, and Xbox versions of Sonic heroes. The PS2 had noticable downgrades
Ah thank you very much man! To be Frank it gonna be a while since i have it get every version to make it happen, and frankly SA2 left a sour taste in my mouth. So it will be a while for sure
The gamecube version is the best one and is the one I obviously owned (I dont have a ps2)
@@lx9612 I will have to check that. What reasons do you feel the Gamecube has over Xbox and PS2? What makes that version morw prominent in your eyes?
can you do a video on the version differences between all the final fantasy 7 ports? specifically the ps3 digital and disc emulation versions since those dont seem to get analyzed by anyone on youtube, also mega man legends on ps1 vs ps3 digital and the exclusive japan only psp version would be wonderful
Absolutely would love to! Onpy thing that is usually stopping me is getting all the different versions. I currently have a PS1 copy and PC steam, but need the original PC switch and others. Those do take time to play esch one and get s full synopsis
@@Kelphelp thank you for the consideration!! i really appreciate it dude c:
@@care736 No thank I take these comments very seriously as well as constructive criticism. Usually I like to time these kind of videos closer to the counterparts release so I will get to this. I'll start getting to work over the coming months.
I've been waiting for this video, I caught the gamecube stream of this a while back. Vid was great dude super informative and well edited I really enjoyed it, good luck with the graduation too!
It's kinda crazy to think that was the conception at the time, and here we are right? But you guys helped me get here to what I needed to improve. So the thanks goes out to all of you!
I would like a Port vs port of sonic heroes ( gamecube vs ps2 vs xbox)
I would be down but.......tbh this video really burned me out from Sonic for a very long time. Its gonna be a long while before i even attempt Heroes.
Funny thing is I rented this from blockbuster as a kid!
I think the buttery smooth 60 fps in the Gamecube version had the cost of lower quality lighting.
Little trade off here and there, but thats the case for this my dude.
it's 60fps on DC as well
@@ksysinf multiplayer is locked at 30fps
"Audio changes that balance out the overall auditory experience" Are you telling me the Dreamcast sounded WORSE than that??
Edit: oh wow yeah...I didn't think it could be worse than Battle lmao
It's true and it bad. There is alot of problems the Dreamcast version has and audio is one of em
@@Kelphelp I totally see that now. I only have the GameCube version myself so I never knew!
@@ratbastian Once you really start doing the editing and comparing em side by side you notice so much not previously seen.
This Video Was Helpful Sense I Have The Original Version On Steam And Thinking If I Should Get The Sonic Adventure 2 Battle DLC Which Changes Most Stuff And The Original Version Is The Dreamcast Port Version!
Glad it helped in some way man! That's why i love makin this series!
I think you should get the Battle DLC.
i spent hours on hours in the chao garden for the Gamecube
Chao Garden is unironically god tier.
Cutscene Revamp helps so much for the PC version.
The cutscene revamp lacks lighting that makes it not simaler to the dc
@@Jimmbobyy Well, that's more problematic than you think. Speeps had to do a lot of stuff to the Battle cutscenes (and some things can't be fixed that easily), I even asked them if they could update the mod and they told me that until some advancements in modding SA2 are done, they can't do much more than that.
But the main issues are at least fixed (especially that Rouge cutscene). Also, no longer do the characters outside the original 4:3 go into a t-pose or don't move.
@@ChiefMedicPururuWhy not try to advance beyond an antiquated version? Instead of settling for it?
@@beta511ee4 Oh, you again...
What even the fuck are you talking about?
what about the Xbox 360 HD Port?
Wanted to focus on the physicals atm
@@Kelphelp The HD port is identical to the GameCube version but with widescreen & even more bug fixes.
So basically. Dreamcast = Better rendered cutscenes. While GameCube = Better gameplay fixes.
Sa1: dreamcast
Sa2: gamecube
I've always disliked the look of the sa2bs sonic model in game
You aren't a sonic fan then because he looks the best in SA2
Jun senoue made city escape not tomoya ohtani
I had the dreamcast version and i don't remember it looking that bad XD
Well tbh it is kinda uhhhhh 😬
I personally prefer the gc version
Simple, easy and convenient. Definitely a solid way to play
what about ps3?
To be honest if they were to remaster this game and put it on PC. I would just add the lighting back. Diminish the volume when it comes to the opening sequence. (That shit traumatized me got PTSD or some shit from it always kept forgetting the damn audio was loud as shit for the opening) And lastly fix the glitches you get with the space levels.
They do have a PC mod that's pretty much the best this games ever gonna be
Overall I'd say the GameCube version is an upgrade, but only a slight one given there's a lot of things the Dreamcast version did better as well.
Exactly, it all becomes subjective at some points and depends what you need
Dreamcast looks good in some aspects but i prefer gamecube's models, diffilcuty and multiplayer mode.
Content wise I do prefer GameCube but it does feel as though the Dreamcast is a bit of a beta version
Why?
DC
1: only version I’ve played
2: lighting
3: easier to emulate (for me)
I do love playing the PC version more than consoles but damn it's such a rough game to go through
@@Kelphelp fair enough
the gamecube version has its ups, but i still MASSIVELY prefer the dreamcast version. a thing i almost never see brought up is the DC version actually had a browser and DLC that never made it to battle, the DC's analog stick is a LOT more precise which makes it easier to use with a modern controller, and even with the PC version modded, the grind rail system is still broken, and the content battle added is negligible. battle mat be better in terms of content, but its *still* a bad port.
It makes sense sense some assets are better on DC, others are worse. It really comes to preference on this for sure
The best version is modded PC.
I think the GC version has nicer colors, but the dreamcast version has nicer textures
I always hate it when we sometimes can't get the best of both worlds
Dreamcast version for the win!
The extra content on Battle makes that the objectively better version by default.
no gamecube is far better and everyone knows it
@@onlygoodgamesofficial You're sure about that? Look at the extra graphical details from the Dreamcast version and then tell me GC is better! LOL
@@sirmoony5633 Graphics aren't the be all, end all.
@@paulbell3682 Oh, I know! Just saying my opinion on it! LOL
DC looks cooler than GC. Sega its DC was ahead graphicly even if compare with PS2
I think the GameCube was supposed to be more powerful on paper than all 3. Ports on the PS2 always looked pretty bad, the game Cube always looked similar, but the DC had some graphical extras up its sleeve that made the games look unique.
Gamecube > Dreamcast
I've Seen Big The Cat in Cutscenes For The Dreamcast.
Sometimes the DC looks better and sometimes the GameCube, the ports that dissapoint the most are on the PS2.
The Adventure games aren't available for the PlayStation 2.
I care about gameplay more then graphics so GameCube for gameplay and graphics dream cast
Hella good choices 😎
The battle port fucked up the lighting and colours less colourful on battle tails fur is grey in battle
For me Dreamcast is better
The GameCube version is the one I played
Will always prefer this version tbh
Echo 8:56
The cutscenes are bad in Battle
Well to be fair...both are :3
There is an xbox version as well.
Digital copy for sure which is about the same as the others.
Gamecube handsdown
I'm his grandson by the way
I personally don't think a single officially released version of SA2 even holds a candle to the fun of SA1. Vanilla, I'd go as far to say it's clunky, unfun shit. Modded however, is an entirely different story.
GAMEA CUBEA
Dreamcast has better lighting, but GC is the better version.
Still hate the game though
You and me both. I haven't touched the game since review and it gonna stay that way.
GC is better
Я единственный русский и знаю хорошо английский?

My boi has good taste! Good lookin man!
simple... SA1 = dreamcast better/ SA2 = gamecube better.
Eh,dreamcast
Dreamcast is better!
OG Dreamcast SA2 i got xmas 2001
Fucking Luv that game n still have it
Its tha only one i have n will ever play
Never touched Battle, wish they didn’t port tha game but wutever
SA2 is universal
Great to know it can easily be played on current PC's as well!
