I love the structure of this song. The first half has that slow eerie chill vibe as Till describes the stalker just watching. Then bang! The song changes and gets harder as the story gets more physical and stays that way. The two parts, fire and water.
It's a typical "boy will never get this girl" story. May it be because she gaslights him, or they because they are just different people. Fire and water. Don't get together. A natural law. Portrayed like he is her stalker getting closer and closer until physical contact. This is one of my Top 10 Rammstein songs, beautiful songwriting.
And its kinda sad that its not a common song under fans

This is almost as close to how I interpreted the song! Fire and water do not gel!
This song is from the point of view of a man who sees a woman in the water and wants to and will rape this woman. The song ends lyrically where the thoughts of the man becomes an action. From then on you can only guess what happens now because of the melody.

This is one of my favourite Rammstein songs as I love the structure as it starts out slow and rebuilds up to a crescendo. Amour is similar in structure and I love that too. As far as I can recall, this song is about a guy who is in love with a girl who is out of his reach for some reason whether real or imagined. Very powerful.

Rammstein's best song imo not even a doubt. A song they never played live unfortunately, but they did a piano version of the song which i'm learning. It's very beautiful as well

For me, the fantastic song is about someone having fantasies about someone. However, this song only takes place in the head of the person. Everyone experienced that, I'm sure. You see someone and you are completely caught up in the person. We have a German word for that " Kopkino" I'm afraid there's no accurate english translation. With love from Germany 😎 🤘

The section with the two Voices you talked about is Till's voice in a higher octave (an octave is when you sing the same musical note in a higher voice) so you get a low and a high voice (both are from Till ) matched together which sounds freaking awesome.

I've seen them the 8th and 9th time this year, and will see them the 10th and 11th time next year, and finaly front of stage in Berlin next year. It's definitely a story about stalking. It's about the guy, who knows that you will never get the girl he wants, maybe because she's beautiful, and he isn't, maybe because she's rich, and he isn't, maybe she has a higher social standing or role and he hasn't. The fire and water are definitely a metaphor for that as well as a metaphor for his hot desire/lust and her beauty and and emotionlessness towards him. "Glatt wie ein Fisch" (slippery as an eel {adj} [idiom] - glatt wie ein Aal [Redewendung]) means superficial perfection with a shady core (blaming / hate-loving her) and could also mean he can never hold her, or she is unreachable. But it could also mean that he grabbed her and did something to her, while "kalt wie Eis" (clod as ice) could describe her feelings for him as well as hinting towards murder. Although definitely sxu al it is very poetic and well thought through.
