I love how every theme represents one reason for fighting in war.
Fighting for independence, fighting to find a place to call home, fighting because you like it, fighting for "greater good", and others.
And then, the final boss theme is a return to the long lasting tradition of trial by combat: if two people are willing to give their lives for their beliefs, let them fight it out- the winner is right.

In all honesty this still goes down as my favourite Final Boss theme to ever exist. Period. The only ones that actually come close is the final boss theme from Bowser's Inside Story, and Silver Bullet from DMC 5.
I agree, the buildup right before the fight and how dynamic the song is during the fight left such a great impact that this song is also my favorite final boss theme.

One of the few times you're the final boss in the game.
Idk if people noticed but in game bits of "It has to be this way" Plays for Raiden specifically
It is actually Raiden's Theme, based on the Lyric, i mean the Music is dampened when Armstrong flinch your Sword, and started again when you grab your Sword Back.
So yeah this is Raiden's, or rather Raiden's Conclusion of the whole Tragedy that MGR Offer.
@@Azazantei It could be a mixture of Armstrong, Sam, and Raiden's arcs. The music generally reflects the conflict we have with Sam. Sam only fought for the thrill of the battle, and has no stake in the actual conflict he was forces into. So in repsonse, he only proceeds to follow his wrath while Raiden, us, proceeds to carve a path of destruction. Ultimatley, no matter the result of the conflcit between Armstrong and Raiden, everything will be fine, as everything will be left up to fate.
@@Azazantei the exact same also happened in the Sam bossfight except it is Sam that got his sword yeeted. they both using the same sword after all so yeah basically Raiden could be the successor of both Sam and Armstrong

Perfect Final Boss Theme between two Idealistic Fighters... One carrying his ideals to his end. One carrying Ideals from his opponents and using them as a New Path to Carve.
For some reason it reminds me of JoJo's bizarre adventure part 7 steel ball run with Johnny versus Valentine it's like I feel like this song would play well with that fight as well

Man after all these years this game is still a masterpiece. I tried this fight after 8 years and the feelings I got were still so unique. Not having a remaster was so disappointing. Damn you Konami. You don't deserve owning the rights of this franchise.

There is a subtle love that both the singer and the sung about have for one another;

An opponent that genuinely believes they are doing the morally correct thing, one that will not compromise on their integrity.
But, in the end, both still have to fight one another; in the end, they have diametrically opposing views.
In the end, the winner shall prove which ideology is correct.
IN THE END, IT HAS TO BE THIS WAY.
It's a kind of respect and love that can only be formed in the heat of a good fight.
One where neither of you holds back, is willingly and proud to go all out without hesitation, not to prove a point to them about your own greatness, but because it would be a disservice to refuse the right to see everything to someone who's been able to make you go all out like this.
And after it all, when one person finally falls, both of you have full satisfaction knowing it was for no other reason than they were simply stronger than you. And in the end, that's just how things are sometimes.

Amazing quotes aside i think one reason why you could literally mix any of mgrs music together and itll still sound good is because all of it is centralised around one theme. Perspective of War. The lyrics are from each characters perspective about war and the music has a good way to differentiate each of everyone of said perspectives.
When all of the music has ONE theme it will still keep that theme even if you mix in different tracks of it and thats why it slaps.
All I did was mix the instrumental with the vocal version lol but yes, I agree with you!

Everyone deserves an explanation as to why I haven't done the video yet. First off, I humbly apologize for not doing it as soon as I said I was going to do it. I had gotten a promotion at work in December 2021 and I'm guaranteed overtime now and once the new year started, I had a lot of health issues come up. This last recent visit to the hospital was because I was at high risk for coronary artery disease and I could've had a heart attack at any given time before admitting myself in the hospital. I ask for everyone's understanding and forgiveness.
