Honestly I'm just thankful I didnt make the mistake of adding the chorus acapella. May sound good, but Casey's been pretty open about his disapproval of that. I'd far rather have a mix made with files he's okay with Especially when that one dude has kept it reuploaded despite Casey himself asking the dude to delete it
And I thought it couldnt possibly sound any better...but holy shit it absolutely can! Thank you for putting all of this together, this is without a doubt the definitive version of bury the light.
12:15 to 14:40, that was flawless, also that transition from the guitar solo into the chorus holy shit that was epic, also 3:43 that transition was fantastic
Yooo, this kicks ass! I made some "Ultimate Mixes" myself with other themes/files and uploaded em' on my channel. But as of now, they aren't really up to my standards. Might try again with Bury the Light here. Also, I love how you used music from the cutscenes.
Just an opinion If you skipped the "I am the storm" Part at 8:51 and went right away to "Forsaken I am awakened" part which would be at 9:17 This would've impacted it a lot.
It's not bad, but the beat drop on the Storm part is much better than the Awakened part, just gives it that extra oomph which isn't really there. If the instrumental was a bit different at that part, yeah, your suggestion would've made it fucking fire
@@sky-desu3392 Oh yeah, if the DLC trailer version ever got released you can bet your ass that's what would be the second chorus here. Unfortunately though, I only had access to the official release (which I didn't use save for the guitar solo), the ripped dynamic music files from PC and a couple of stuff I recorded myself (Yamato unsheathing and the more orchestral version of BTL)
there is one remix from ending cutscene i can't find anywhere, i thought it might be here but no. its starts from here: th-cam.com/video/y4xBFWcjLpo/w-d-xo.html its subtle guitar and nice bass remix
I actually tried to implement that, right before 10:33 and I was gonna have that flow into the "constellations of blood pirouette" part, but it unfortunately didn't flow very well. If you wanna hear it elsewhere though, it's here. th-cam.com/video/yDamq0bS0JY/w-d-xo.html
This is honestly the best mix I've heard that can stand on its own. Not a big fan of how the yamato sound effect was used, seemed a bit out of place to me. And I almost wished the full second chorus and the final section of the song were swapped before the final parts. Maybe I'm just being nitpicky about all this. Otherwise, this was honestly great. Kudos to you! :)
The main reason why I didn't use the full version of the chorus for the third usage of it was that my intention when visualizing and planning it would be that it's more triumphant and displaying Vergil's story coming full circle to returning to his family while also still trying to avenge them. I tried to almost tell the story of Vergil with this suite and that's where he ends it. The second part of the chorus is heavily focused on Vergil's personal demons, so that didn't really fit very well with this idea. The yamato sound effect was just an idea I've had since the launch trailer to DMC5SE and me trying to display Vergil's overall style of pacing. The entire several minute long buildup, in my mind, felt like Vergil walking through the streets of Fortuna. How he's slow and methodical in everything he does. Until that sword comes out of his sheath, his speed cranks up to 5000 and all hell suddenly breaks loose.
I personally would of jumped from 2:27 to 3:18 immediately. The extra minute was a bit unnecessary but other than that this is by far the *VERY BEST* Bury the light mix out there
A fair point. As I explained in a previous comment, that mostly was due to me giving myself the challenge of including literally as much of Vergil's theme in DMC5SE as possible in order to create a "full suite" and have it still flow well. I ended up implementing everything except the instrumental version of 10:33 (which is the one aspect I would probably change if I had a chance to go back in time and reupload this). Reason being that if I was just making a mix which was intended to flow the best, I'd probably just end up recreating the soundtrack version as that is genuinely the best mix from a "flow" standpoint. And that'd be lazy, in my opinion. So I opted to challenge myself a little bit, in that regard.
@@BatsAndNights Lmao I'm like that too, with the "Challenge myself" part. It's still the greatest BTL mix out there, so either way you've outdone yourself m8 👍
Dude, is there ever a chance you would do a full game rip version of Devil Trigger? That's something that I have wanted ever since you made this. There's a game edit version, but it's not a "full" game rip version
I'd say that's unfortunately unlikely, just because A: I much more thoroughly enjoyed Bury The Light and B: there'd be a lot less for me to work with. BTL's leitmotif is peppered throughout all the Vergil DLC cutscenes and even the official release is a 9 minute song, vs DT being just shy of 7. I also only got access to the gamerip files for BTL thanks to KickDemonAss, who I shoutout in the description. I don't have DMC5 on PC and I don't have access to the DT gamerip files, so I wouldn't be able to make a full suite mix of it for that reason as well.
Hey, just wondering, is there a way to upload a better version? This is way too quiet, even trying to amplify it in audio software doesn't help because the bass just gets too loud.
No because the raw audio files themselves are very quietly mixed, likely to ensure everything else in game is heard. I tried to amplify it myself to the best of my abilities, but applying any more than I did just distorted the shit out of it and bordered on earrape. So I chose audio quality over raw volume.
@@BatsAndNights that's weird, because there's a dynamic version of Bury the Light here on TH-cam where the audio is crisp and loud like the album version.
@@comorbiddisorder If you mean Case Tech279's video, I believe he got his audio files from a different source. But at the same time, the audio quality on his video (in my opinion) sounds worse. So once again, it's a trade off. Quality vs volume.
The idea was that it'd be a complete mix, essentially having almost all instances of Vergil's theme in DMC5 included within it. It's not necessarily mixed with the intention of just making a good mix that flows well. If I was doing that, I'd probably just end up remaking the official version, which I didn't wanna do. So I did something different.
