    On the face of it. Huddersfield have had a decent window, however, we've had one problem we needed to amend this summer and if anything we've made the problem worse, we still haven't got a striker with guaranteed goals, yes Callum Marshall's proved to be alright so far. But we've got rid of Rhodes (wages or not he's guaranteed goals in league one) and got no depth now because our strikers are made of glass and we was so hellbent on getting Joe Taylor we never thought about a plan b in case he didn't end up coming, and we've still got Danny Ward on top of all of that which is like leaving Steve Evans alone at a Chinese buffet completely unsupervised

    One of the reasons Stockport County are getting players like Louie Barry is that the club’s entire infrastructure-structure was set up at Championship standard back when they were in the NL, just one example - County’s training centre is the one at Carrington used by Man City when they first won the Premier League in 2012.
    Secondly, County’s progress is down to Dave Challinor *plus* a very, very good backup team including a DoF who could walk into a Premier League club; the biggest worry they have at the moment is the attacking coach Andy Mangan being linked to a move to Real Madrid.
    All this means that clubs like Villa are happy to send players like Louie Barry to County two years running.

    Genuinely impressed with our transfer window can’t believe you didn’t GOAT us but I guess you would get some stick for goating your own team, getting money for styles is quality I would have accepted West Brom paying for his taxi to get him out of the club glad Kane and Cole left cadden ok but wasn’t too upset Williams was only one i felt I wanted to stay, cundy shaw Dallas all happy they gone and the players we loaned out should get game time and wouldn’t be near our match day squad, and all the signings add something apart from maybe smith but he was out of contract and one for future although he is better than killip also listened all way to end I had Sunday dinner last night for tea roast gammon with Yorkshire puds and veggies

    We 100% belong in Donkeys, shocking summer, players we’ve brought in are either shite, too young and inexperienced or just downright cheap because we spent 90% of our budget on solar panels, Sonny Perkins has got a good first touch and that’s it, he’ll be playing park football in 3/4 years, every goalkeeper we’ve brought in is absolute pony, if we stay up this season Richie Wellens deserve a knighthood and a golden statue outside the main stand

    wrexham average attendance in conference was 4,500. You try maintaining anything more after 15 years of your club being gutted and signing great players to three or six month contracts and shit players to 12 month deals. People seem to take the piss out of us for having low attendances - yet at 4500 it would comfortably have been a mid table league one average.

    Apparently bar Jay Stansfield's fee (which is somewhere between £15m-£20m when all is said and done) all the prices paid for blues incomings were inflated by 40-50%, I don't think Klarer or Willumsson actually broke the L1 transfer record, and we got quite a bit more for Jordan James than €5m too. Few decent local journalists & one of our most trusted ITKs has reported it so who knows.
    Still spent a mad amount, but all being done within revenue we've generated. Even before our takeover, we were looking at this season as a big one for us because we had so many old & past it players on huge contracts with their deals running out (Marc Roberts being one of them, sorry mate). I think we were always going to spend. Just this level of spending is mad. Still, we're not going to use the "owner-inject-money" rule league one has, and apparently had we stayed up we would've spent more.
    I'm buzzing with the window though obviously, I do have trust in the owners to not screw us long term so I'm genuinely just enjoying the talent we've got at our disposal now. You're spot on about gelling and keeping them all happy, it's a tough job for the manager but if he can get that bit right we should be winning the league really. Next 5 games are really tough and I think we'll be dropping quite a few points, probably pick up our first defeat too.
    I'm no league 1 guru, but the club that's surprised me the most is Stockport with their business. Think their gaffer is top class, and they've had a fantastic window from the outside looking in.

    • @MatthewDavis-yc4zo
      @MatthewDavis-yc4zo 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Also just seen you mention the Bellingham sell-on money. Yeah that was used to keep the club afloat, as was his initial fee. We got about £38m for him I think in the end and we never saw any of it because the last owners were donkeys. We've been run like dog for years, it's great to see us being run really well now

    • @louisfinnerty4143
      @louisfinnerty4143 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Stansfields deal was inflated too you're talking more 12mill probably

    • @MatthewDavis-yc4zo
      @MatthewDavis-yc4zo 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@louisfinnerty4143 I don't think anyone actually knows what the Stansfield fee is. But the length of his contract (when apparently the 5 year max amortisation rule doesn't exist in the EFL) will spread it out regardless. Even if it's £15m up front which is the highest it has been reported as, that's just over £2m a year for 7 years. That's not a problem in the slightest when we're pulling in like £35m of revenue a year.

    • @lewis9815Z
      @lewis9815Z 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah blues fan too and it’s hilarious seeing how the entire football world is slating us for the most part - we’ve had our fair share of the club being ran into the ground and we have one good window, I’ll take the slagging!
      No way we paid 15mol for Stano, no way. About 12 and that is still overpriced imo even though I think he’s class.
      We’ve had a great window and while I think we will struggle to get them performing in the short term, once they gel we are going to be another level.

My opinion is that ANY team who rotted in NL 15years would be the same, I think wrexham are an easy and unfair target with that narrative. For example Ipswich averaged 17k in 2017 towards the end of last season it was 29k. Why is no one hammering Ipswich for jumping the bandwagon? I remember when Brighton played in an behalf empty athletics track not too long ago. Now they're filling the gaff out? Good times and good football brings higher attendances same with every club IMO
