Birmingham are the latest 'big' club to be sent to the shadow realms of League One. We looked at their chances next season, the squad and manager they've got and the potential transfers to come in and get them promoted back to the Championship at the first attempt.
Also Alfie May has joined. It's over before it even began.

Birmingham fan here - think most fans can agree, we won’t miss hogan, Gardner, etheridge, Roberts - only one with fight and always gave 100% is sunjic but wages too much
If half the team had the same fight as sunjic we would be challenging for top 6

As an Ipswich fan, totally agree. We went down at a decent moment, being terrible attracted new owners, and the rest is history. Birmingham are further along in that journey than we were, I think they’ll be back waaaay sooner.
Great watch as a Birmingham fan to see a neutrals opinion of our club. Also add to this the fact we've sold more season tickets than last season along with the surprising amount of optimism going around considering we've just been relegated.

Blues fan, I'm confident, but not sure we're quite nailed on yet. Loads of transfer business to do, squad looks pretty good now but players like Jordan James we're expecting to leave, which could have a big impact.
If we hold onto most of our players though and sign the sort of players we've been linked with, the likes of Mike Eerdhuijzen who's a 23 year old 6'4" CB from Sparta Rotterdam for £2m which reportedly just fell through after he did his medical, we should be up there.
Under competent managers last year we looked like a mid table/upper mid table championship side. If you take out the time being managed by Rooney and Venus (so time managed by Eustace, Mowbray and Rowett) we'd have been comfortably mid table. And we never felt like a settled side, so I'm hoping Chris Davies is the man and we have him the full year at least. Comes across really well.
I'm looking forward to what hopefully will be a fun season. Good signing for you boys to get Marc Roberts back too, he'll be good in a side that suits him, I just think he needed the move away from us.

We've been circling the drain for so long, ironic it's actually the year we get a big takeover that we go down! Typical blues... We aren't necessarily buying our way out but more a fact that we have had a massive clear out and various loan players going back. We are rebuilding and tbf not spending that much money really..... so far.

League one this year is the toughest it's been blues rotherham huddersfield bolton barnsley charlton peterborough wrexham mansfield stockport all be strong the division to look out for this year in my opinion

Birmingham are a big club and should hopefully be able to go straight back up, Really hope what happened to us doesn’t happen to you, where we had some great teams but just missed out on promotion and was stuck for 7 years, It’s awful, Hope you lot make it out as quick as you can as league one is an awful league if you don’t take your chances.

I don't believe we will piss it but our squad was good to start with, the business the new gaffer has done is emense. On paper we should win this league, it won't be easy as that, but unless you have a few points in between the top 6 your just wrong. We may end up being the third place one point off the autos team.

I disagree. I think the League is weaker now then it was last season or the last couple of seasons. Teams like Sunderland, Portsmouth, Derby and Ipswich were far too big for league one.

We went down because of Rooney and Venus basically Callum. Our PPG under our 'proper' managers would have had us pushing for the top 6 which shows that this team were in theory, far too good to go down.
The players we let go will not be missed (not being bitter but they were on very high wages and didn't give us very much). We are looking to sell Bacuna apparently who will be a bit of a miss but we have just signed Emil Hanson for £1.5million. I think it's a very exciting summer for us and I hope that we bounce straight back up; it will be tough though.
I have seen Blues here before it was not easy to get out of it before and it will not be easy to get out this time, but at least we will have a new team so that's a good start! last seasons team would have got us relegated again! they was one of the worst teams I have seen at St Andrews for 70 odd years.....Its going to be a long journey.....Best of luck to our new team, KRO.

It’s looking good for Birmingham but they have to be careful not to fall into the trap of thinking that having good players who play good football is all you need. There’s 20 teams in that division whose entire game plan week in week out will be to prevent anything resembling football taking place. Alfie May scores a lot of goals for bottom half teams, but how will he get on in a side where the opposition are parking the bus every week?
Birmingham and us (Town) have practically done the exact same thing under both our new owners. Only difference is they’ve got a bigger budget, which is why May went their.

Blues are going to be leathal this season. Alfie May will come unstuck this season, the Good clubs will mark him out of the game, done a Good job for us 100% .With May he has no championship experience at all, Jones did like him but May wanted to go backup North where his wife and kids were. Will we miss him ?The jury is out. I would rather have Matty Godden any day, more experience and a real Good striker also partnered with Ghassan Ahadme, plus Chucks Aneke, Daniel Kanu, Miles Leaburn , to name a few.
