    A lot of confusing comments have been posted, only one is on the point. This remarkable and historic clip shows His Holiness visiting SIKKIM (not Tibet). Sikkim was a Buddhist country with Tibetan roots that was overtaken by India under questionable circumstances in 1975. Since annexation it has become a state of India, loosing its original flag, royal family, Buddhist culture and unique individuality. Decades of Indianization, immigration into the state and general historical ignorance have eroded the original Sikkim …. not unlike what China has done to Tibet for the last 60 years. Shame on India and shame on China for not valuating and protecting what this area represents … the blending of both Indo & Sino cultures and faiths.

      @@jackytang3683 yeap now they changed their mind, otherwise the tourist want come anymore and China loves money, they killed and imprisonment the Tibetans after invading the country in the early 50s. Mao Zeh Tung told the Dalai Lama that all Tibetans are barbaric and backward. He said I will modernize and culture them. Nothing has changed until today, China took Hong Kong and wants to take Taiwan it took big parts of India, and has put their army into Bhutan. The world is full of dictators.

    In March 1959 Dalai Lama escaped from Tibet to India. He was 23 years old. So this Sikkim visit was 3 year before he left Tibet ? Then this meeting must have been of tremendous importants to enqueue what India's position would be, if he escaped to India.

    • @Gompotashikham
      @Gompotashikham 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, you are absolutely right. Before 1959, The Dalai Lama had stepped in both Sikkim and India which were different back then and he had received welcome and reception by both the countries a head of state. And Indian PM encouraged HH to stay in Tibet and lead the people. But later on, when China was a threat to the Dalai Lama's life so closely, The PM of India, PM Jawaharlal Nehru, sent a message of welcome to His Holiness The Dalai Lama through his brother.
