I had been with shugden for many years and i have documented many of his teachings and predictions. By looking at them, he is a great scholar, kind teacher and his teaching is full of guru devotion, karma, compassion, how to lead meaningful life. I haven't seen even an atom of negativity in his teaching. One time at monastery, we were not studying good and often go to watch movie. One day while in trance, shugden said to us" when u have all the spiritual resources and excellent teacher as ur guidance, don't waste ur time, instead with great sense of urgency make your life meaningful otherwise when all these conducive factors are passed, you will regret so much." also he said, those who go and watch movie, why don't you watch the great treatises of buddha and commentaries by both indian and tibetan masters, you would find so many beautiful things in those". From that moments, i stopped going to cinema theater. So tell me, how can i possibly think his as evil spirit? I cant, he had been like my parents.
If one's protector is another's downfall , then such a protection is SELFISH at best. and at worst- its not even Buddhism or for that matter any kind of spirituality be it Christianity or Hinduism or any other religion. I would NEVER worship a "diety" that may be providing me much protection and prosperity but has a discriminating mind to harm or bring suffering to others. That is not and cannot be religion much less spirituality. I dont ever want such protection,better that i have some trials and tribulations and obstacles that serve as catalsyt for me to tread on the spiritual path.
the three criteria for ultimate protector , as mentioned in lamrim, are 1) free from all fear and skillfull in liberating others from fear, 2) possesing non discriminating compassion and love to all beings, 3) benefiting everybody. Shugden's protection to me is not at the expense of harming others. What are you talking about? tashi dhondup.
dorjee tenzin What are you talking about? Isnt the main vision of your protector diety to oppose all other sects and traditions? what about Zemey Rimpoche's yellow book? In the book he very clearly gives many, many examples of dire consequences if a Gelukpa recieve teachings from spiritual masters of other traditions/ sects or masters who are opposed to the diety worship. I myself have no such fear, I have enough spiritual courage and perception to not become a victim to such petty things. but the fact that someone like Zemey Rimpoche (forget about the ordinary people) could have such a view is very troubling to whole of Tibetan Buddhism. You would be distorting Buddhism if you hold your "protector' as the Buddha emanation and not as a mundane level protector.I know you said that it gives you much protection and good guidance - I have heard such things from non- tibetans dabbling in spirits and feeling protected and so on. But they dont consider themselves Buddhist.
Açcording to my point of views shugden is not God its just evil spirit coz in past history so many great Lama banned shugden and so many allegations against shugden and 5th Dalai lama banned shugden and also guru rinpoche, shugden is just as living in samkara and not belong to god , shugden worshiper can't worship nyima and other coz he is just evil spirit.

Why you guys gives so much validation to zemey' book just because u can use this to discredit shugden. Anyway what i was saying is that according to my experience with shugden, i never found any sectarian tone in his teaching. Anyway shugden did advocate practicing geluk teaching purely as a main guide to Buddhahood. He says that all Buddhist tradition has potential to guide one to Buddhahood when it comes to method aspect of spiritual path i,e, boddhicitta, but when it comes to wisdom aspect ie wisdom of emptiness and certain tantric practices, there exist some differences between four traditions. So he advises it is best to keep them separately and purely. So this is not sectraian.But it never the case that one gelukpa listen or study nyingma text would incur the wrath of shugden. Take me as example, i am gelukpa, but i studied zogchen, read many text from kagyu specially of Za Patrul rinpoche, and many teachings from jonang tradition. I am fine and healthy, shugden never destroys me, on the contary he was very pleased when i met him several years ago. I have a friend who is lineage holder of nyingma tradition, but he came to gaden monastery to study geluk system and we have been same student of our master. Even he also worship shugden.
Shivas was also nice and kind to me. But I later figured out it was him who set me up with temptations for the next 26 years to give me obvious outcome of descending to hell if I make a mistake and kill someone under his influence.
Evil or not, I think god should not be worshipped too much. When previous generations of high lamas have disciplined this god then Dalai lama has the responsibility to do the same. People can get carried away by this god’s material benefit or charm. However, the Dalai Lama worries about Buddhism as a religion and how it could pose a threat to the true Buddhist mindset. Like he says, he can't control Tibetan’s future but as long as he is here, he will do his best. That is fair tho.
it is very obvious that Dorje Shugden is not the evil spirit but when you take a look at the comment section here you will find evil ppl , posts full of hatred but they consider themselves Dharma practitioner what a contradiction
