    Watched your video right before heading to the gym to do some wall practice in one of the racquetball courts since it's raining today in "sunny" SoCal. :) How perfect that your video was also shot in an Rball court! Your drills really helped add some spice and structure to my practice session and I especially loved the "corner drill" since the unpredictability of the ball's bounce really made it realistic - thanks so much for that great idea as well as your other ones. Just signed up for your 30 day challenge and looking forward to being a better player in a month. Thank you!

    This was extremely helpful!!! I just started playing a little more than a month ago and have only played about once a week, each week. My game has improved but with my frequency of play it's a slow process. Thank you for putting this video together! Now to search for a wall to use that's nearby home...

    just finished my first little session of drills in the racquetball
    court. Wish I would have watched this first and brought some tape! So few places to play indoors over winter where I live and have been thinking “what can i do on empty racquetball courts?” Spring just around the corner! I was thinking of setting up banner and doing “dink only” games. I may definitely do that after i spend some time with drills!

    • @HighFivePickleball
      @HighFivePickleball  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey V Ley, great question. It depends on your distance from the nvz line. If I’m a few feet away from the kitchen I will aim 18” or a little more higher from the net height.

    • @HighFivePickleball
      @HighFivePickleball  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sure, the goal is for the ball to hit the corner and to bounce in a way you don’t expect that way you can practice responding and returning the ball quickly while also maintaining control. Hope that helps!

    Hi, is the ideal place to practice these drills in a racquetball court?
    If I practice in the garage that's most likely made of concrete bricks it seems like the concrete absorbs too much of the hit and the ball kinda dies.
    Any suggestions about ideal practice surfaces?

    I learned how to juggle to help my coordination and have some really similar drills I practice with. Also I've started doing tracking practice with my eyes. Kinda like a professional hockey goalie does.

    • @HighFivePickleball
      @HighFivePickleball  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice! That’s pretty cool! Did either of those help? Thanks for the comment.

    • @rongarrison3246
      @rongarrison3246 ปีที่แล้ว

      As for the juggling I can't say for sure that it helped but safe to assume that it definitely didn't hurt. For the eye tracking practice I got to say it definitely helps. It helps me get that split second to make sure I'm taking the right shot instead of kinda haphazardly throwing my arm and hoping I cough it up. It might only give me a millisecond but in a firefight at the net that's plenty enough time to win the point.

    Great video - thank you! Just confirming that your taped NVZ line is indeed 7 feet from the wall - maybe the video angle distorts this, but it looks like if you laid down on the ground starting at the wall you'd be longer than that line, and I don't think you are 7 feet tall??

    • @HighFivePickleball

    Noticed you are lifting your body as you hit the ball which you should avoid. Only your shoulder should do the work
