This is legit. Especially if you come from a higher level tennis background and want to get good at pickleball fast. After playing my first pickleball match, the soft game pissed me off. So I built a wall at my house and for 3 months (hour a day) did nothing but this stuff before I played again. Having a high level tennis background the power and drives and overheads were the same, but this is how you fast track your drops, dinks and soft game…if you havent formed pickleball relationships yet to drill. I now have a good group of 4.5+ guys who meet each week to hit..and if I hadn’t done this, I would be stuck banging with low level players.

Anyone else crying at all those empty courts?
Another helpful video. I didn't even think about overheads to the ground BEFORE the wall. Thank you.

Tried the drills last night. Love it! Shall get some painter's tape to put on the wall. But love the overhead drills anyways, it really gives me a good workout

As a new subscriber, I really like your presentation, you get right to the point, unlike others who over explain what they are trying to teach.

Thanks for answering questions I had, such as how to drill in different spots and where to aim. I need work on placement and wall drills to same spot weren’t helping. Thanks!!!

Great drills! Could you tell me more about that drill wall? Is it made of plywood, MDF, or something else, and is it completely parallel with the fence (no angle)?

Also, Shea, it'd be great if you can let us know what the pros and cons of using wall drills vs machines like Erne/Titan drills and which one is better for which type of drills and why. Thank you!

The background sound isn’t an issue for me. It’s so light that I had to strain to hear it after it was mentioned-because I was so focused on the EXCELLENT TIPS.

Thanks for this helpful video. For the overhead drill, I love the optimization of body alignment tips plus the target on the ground that'll make sure that ball bounces back ready for you to smash it again; however, given that you don't have a net in front of you for this drill, how do you know that you won't develop a bad habit of smashing below 11 o'clock into the net in a real game? Thank you, @sheaunderwood!

I appreciate this video and all your newsletters. A positive feedback would be a screen shot will all the drill so I can put it up in my garage to practice.
On another note Where are you based out of ? Let me know if you are in Gainesville Florida area. I will love to host a clinic with you

Excellent video. Very descriptive way of demonstrating how to practice against a wall.
I feel that the shoulder and hip height targets are somewhat high as the opponent would be squatting.
Also, the distance to the wall should not be less than 7 feet.
    Thanks

    • @sheaunderwood
      @sheaunderwood  หลายเดือนก่อน

You have to remember that your opponents are also 7 feet “behind” the wall, so the ball likely slows before it gets to them.
Distance to the wall has to be less than 7 feet because the ball won’t go back to you. If you try dinking 7 feet away from the wall, you’ll never get more than 2 in a a row.

Why not hit a lift dink to the middle? While you said that a cross-court dink is usually a push dink cross court;; Isn't it true that at times you will hit a rest dink to the middle? A lift dink middle could represent that.

You’re teaching us. I never seen a teacher in classroom with background music. Whenever I hear music in a teaching video, I flush it. Sorry for that , choose between the music or the lesson.

With age, I’m starting to lose my hearing. All I can hear in the background of this video is clicking. Very annoying clicking.
