It's amazing how complicated 4 cylinder motorcycle engines are. I recently overhauled a mazda miata engine, similar layout. 4 cylinders, twin overhead cams, but man, so much simpler inside than those 4 cylinder bike engines. Plus with the bike, the transmission/gearbox is all in one compact unit, so it's a lot of parts crammed close together.
Hi wilmann30, are you asking me that question or asking laconia? As for you question though, what year engine of CB750 are you referring too? I myself have a Honda CB750 (1982) engine, which I have managed to fit a Honda Nighthawk (1983) oil cooler too, though I had to make a few customised alterations to get it to fit.
I was asking locokai but thanks for the reply! I have a 1980 CB750 Classic but I also acquired an 81 cb900 with the cooler! Research tells me I have to switch the oil pump too! Apparently it's a popular swap. I would love to have hydraulic lifters as well.
Well folks that's why these bikes are rare. !!! Change your oil every thousand miles. !!! This bike was probably never rebuilt junked or used as a parts bike.!!!!! This was a easy one try to do this on a newer bike.????? This is about $4,000 in a shop if you can find one that'll even do it.!!!!!
This is by NO means an easy one lmfao.. it may be old but it's still a 16v dohc inline 4 with hydraulic flash adjusters bike engine. They're not easy. Yea they're harder (v4 and what have you but) this is still a complex engine that hard to work on due to size
Hi! Im chapi, from Argentina. Sorry but my english is not good! I have a question about primary chain.. are you know, how large is it? or how many links ?? Thanks! I hope you understand me

I'm not there yet so i don't know how to adjust the valves but if you have some info i will be as much happy is you would. i had greater problems and the bike is still in peaces :-(( but recently i found on eBay cylinder head cover whit valves, i ordered in July from Italy a crankshaft, and know from US the cylinder.... . but i don't know how to adjust "yet" i'm excepting to have time in early Mai to assemble the bike, cause i just absolutely Love this bike and miss-it as well, cant wait to ride it again.
Ervin Kas can you give me some info on the timing the engine, I'm ready whit the rest of it just have to time the engine, anyone who can help me whit it, it just would be great. thanks
Laszlo Kovacs Great to know about you Lazlo.... I have been working on the bike with a friend in the last 2 weeks, I have not too much time to give you more detalis.... the weekend Ill be trying to finish the assemble... and I have some news about the valve adjustment and the timing, but i want to confirm first before to give you an advice.... so... lets keep in touch.... I've had my 1984 650SC Nighthawk for 20 years. I've been looking for a 'Phat Boy' seat ever since. Can you tell me how to get one as depicted in the video "Honda nighthawk 650 disassembly" ? Greatly appreciated, Toolmanou812.

'84 650SC Honda Nighthawk - my first motorcycle - where I started my learning in mechanics. ...25-years ago. (Sigh). :)
Interesting, but the music. Would prefer your comment.

I wanna hear your voice to match all the good stuff you did in this video---music at first and then silence--dang! love it tho

Hola buenas tardes, se puede rectificar un cigueñal para la moto 650 ?
Hola amigo tengo una y no se ponerla en tiempo las levas

Damn, out of all the part I wanted to know about is how the oil cooler is attached to the engine and that piece of footage was cut short.
its on the oil filter, and nothing more. you remove the filter and the cooler is free
Ok, thanks for the info much appreciated.
Did you drain the crankcase prior to removing the filter? I'm wondering if the cooler could be retrofitted on a cb750 classic that doesn't have one!

The valves don't need adjustment, they have hydraulic lash adjusters.

very collectible nighthawk, I would have washed it first before working on it...
Collectible? Not really
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Its full of road grime.
