- Join me in this very special vlog for a trip to the glorious Cotswolds. My friend, Nathan Rollinson, and I visited for three nights this week, staying at the heavenly Barnsley House - former home of the esteemed garden designer, Rosemary Verey.
In this vlog I give you a tour of our beautiful suite, as well as a walk through a peaceful Cotswold village, and a look inside Aynhoe Park - home to the first ever Restoration Hardware showroom in the UK.

I really needed the calming and stylish vibes of your videos! After the day I had I just wanna say: to anyone who's ever been a victim of bullying / hate / violence because of their appearance, gender, orientation, race : DO NOT ever let a hateful notion 'there's something wrong with me' sink in. Trust me, it's a recipe for self hatred and compulsive anxieties later on. When we suffer and we need a break, it's only natural to think: maybe if I wasn't 'different', if I was 'normal' I would be accepted. No, haters will always find something else to prey upon. I've always had androgynous look, which was a fuel for bullies when I was growing up. I embraced it, used it to my advantage in my acting / modeling career, I was almost the face of Leon in these new Resident Evil games :)
Most people bully others because of either self hatred or they themselves are being bullied in some way. Forget them just be you, your perfect as you are .
Stay strong friend, and enjoy the peace and beauty that these lovely videos. Ignore the haters as much as possible!!!

I’m an American who just visited the Cotswolds and they were gorgeous!! The English people were kind, we loved the farm stands and how you can bring your dog to most places. The only thing we could not get use to was the crazy driving, on skinny, fast and windy roads. We want to move to England and leave the US.

OMG Nicholas, this brought me such joy and almost to tears with it's beauty. I have studied the Cotswold's and it's beauty and it's history for 30 years. I am an American and have hundreds of ancestors from England. I wish I had bought here years ago. I truly do. @@janicebrowningaquino792 Hi Janice, I was a flight attendant for 15 years, and had 3 beautiful trips to England. My last trip was in 2011 when I was 57 and still in great shape. My husband and I had a private tour of the Cotswold's and it was like heaven. I feel so lucky to have been able to do that. It was a spectacular 70 degree Spring day. When my second husband died I was 52 and I should have bought in the Cotswolds then. It is too late at turning 70 and my present husband is 73. We really would like to go back, but as you said, it's hard now! Traveling isn't as easy as it once was. But, we can dream. I follow a few other girls you may like on You Tube. They live there as well. Josie, Fashion Mumbler. You will love her vlogs too!!

The Cotswolds are the Tuscany of England 🏴 The light is heavenly there. The indoor furnishings were nice but a little cold and not as impressive as the outdoor scenery. WOW
Totally agree about the indoor furnishings.
18th century style, either English (Chippendale) or French (LOUIS XV)
and oriental rugs would be especially nice and befitting such a beautiful mansion.
But, to each his own, I also find it rather cold, even somewhat spartan.
It still is undeniably nice and tastefully done.

I’ve been following your beautiful videos from Japan, but now I’m living in Europe close to England. I went to visit Cotswold this summer and it was stunning and beautiful. It looks like a fairly tale place. While I was walking through the incredible Lavender’s garden, an old lady gifted me with a little bag full of the lavender flowers. I sleep with it every single night dreaming that one day I will live in Cotswold. Thank you for your effort and for the unconditional energy you put making all your amazing videos. You already have success because everybody love you ❤

Nicolas, thank you for this beautiful and peaceful vlog of the Cotswolds, Barnsley House, and the RH Showrooms. You inspired me to look up the vintage video of Rosemary Verey. It was probably the same video taken in the winter with a snowfall showing the "bones"and structure of her designs. At a time with so much turmoil in the world, you brought out what is beautiful, good, and right. Robert.

Oh beautiful video Nicholas thank you for sharing your life. We celebrated my Husbands birthday at Barnsley House with our family, it was in February so all the fires were lit and majical atmosphere. We now live in Devon so it was wonderful to see the hotel again. Love from Rosie O from England 🇬🇧💖

Nicholas, Please tour Houghton (my surname) Hall in Norfolk. They are working on the formal gardens currently but will be open in 2024 for visits. That would be a great treat for your audience. It is the most beautiful Palladium house in Britain.

This video is stunning. I watched it twice. We have Restoration Hardware here in the States, but I must say, it does not look anything like the one in your video! This store is breathtaking. I imagine they will do most of their ad filming from there. What a dream. I could almost take a trip just to see it and the cozy roads with rock walls--simply heavenly! What a fun place to film.

Barnsley House & RH are worthy of a big WOW!! The modern decor works beautifully with the classic ornate features. Also, the lighting is key with lots of lamp rather than harsh unforgiving downlights. Thanks so much for taking us with you. Hi to Nathan who looks super stylish. How lovely. I last visited Barnsley House when Rosemary Verey was still alive, so well over 20 years ago. I loved the garden, and she had a wonderful potager garden. Thank you also for showing RH at Aynhoe Park, I'm very glad to hear that they now have an outlet in the UK, I've browsed and coveted their stock for years. I am always amazed at how many places in the UK are dog friendly. A place like this in the USA would never allow dogs. I think it is great that you can travel with your lovely dog, when you take her, and take her to all of the places you visit. How wonderful for you and for her. I can't think of any place in the USA that welcomes dogs on a regular basis.

What a stunning location, thank you for taking us along. The garden is superb and the vistas from the terrace - just like a painting. How beautiful England truly is. Just following you in your process of whether to move or not to move, it seems to me that you are not THAT happy where you are. Perhaps a move to the Cotswolds would be perfect for you. RH started in Eureka CA, my home town ❤ It has closed now, but I remember furnishing much of my home from RH. It was such a beautiful store. I so enjoyed your tour!

Beautiful house! Fun Fact: I have been to the UK twice, once in January and once in October. Very little rain and the January weather was actually dryer for me than for someone I know who went in summer of the same year! Thank you for the video!
