An explanation of the drive system ! Was bit by the old Argo chain drive systems that were junk ! Info on transmission, and drive line would be helpful !!!
Super fun vehicle. Definitely for industry and the super wealthy...but, imagine a scaled down version! A kit vehicle that checks some the best boxes here.
Needs to go thro the middle of Newfoundland during winter. Or go to Labrador on cains quest route. Try out the durability and reliability that way. The price OMG.
I think you miss the application for Search and Rescue that we use a very old Argo open 6wd for. Not quite adequately. Our landscape is mostly flat farm open fields, rivers and then vast desert sand and then where water is, small head high dense scrub and rocky terrain. Plus when it rains or a cyclone drops by, a deep bottomless, clinging , impassable mud appears and everything else is flooded. We are too remote for an easy helicopter or anything else so we make do. We run flood boats and then wade big 4WDs where possible but the Rescue function often means locating people and then carrying or swimming them out on a raft to a road access point to where medics and ambulances wait. This Argo Sasquatch would be a gift from the Gods! Another important role is in searches, getting there fast by road, deploying and doing a first, fast search by UTVs to do a quick scout of the most likely and then if unsuccessful, the long slow, intensive search on foot by search teams checking thoroughly each square of the search area with UTVs running the perimeter, ferrying supplies like food and water, medical supplies or retrieving injured searchers. And then, if the search is successful, recovering often stretcher-bound subject or sometimes, carrying out the body bag over long distances of rough ground, often in high heat that kills the unprepared. Our team would love two of these, with trailers for 1,000km fast "road" deployments, support for our comms gear and capacity for carrying at least 1 stretcher and medic in attendance, medical gear like a defib and diagnostics to inform the hospital. Just the task of rolling down 10 or 20km of a remote, deserted sandy beach to look for a body washing ashore, this Argo would be great.
$190 thousand dollars??😮I thought your fan base was regular people, blue collars. I could see maybe $25k for this silly toy, but for 200k, id buy a house!
Hello from Oklahoma! Interesting. After the specs part its best to turn the sound off. The dudes needs to lay off the constant jibber jabber. It would've been nice to hear the machine. Just my opinion.
Really cool machine but, no access port to swing a fishing rod thru. Seriously, give floatable features on a smaller machine so I can drive 20 kms to a nice trout lake and drive over to my fav spot to catch me a trail lunch.
Great video gents. One question, how do you get the ladder and door/window closed once you are up and in it if you are alone or 2 people are going and nobody is left outside of it? 👍🇨🇦
If you take a look at 6:19 you'll see a steel cable that's attached to the bottom of the steps up to the inside of the cab and a pull handle hanging down from the glass. Those are there to pull the glass down and the steps up from inside.
Tell us you don't know that Hyundai is a major player in commercial/industrial vehicles worldwide....the government has given you the version of their vehicles we see in America.
Argo and Sherp had an arrangement a few years ago. I'm not too sure what Argo got out of the deal, but Sherp got use of Agro's distribution network. I'm thinking that Agro got access to Sherp's drawings and specs.
ya super fun .....Tabarnaque that thing flips on its side so easy i know.....keep your argos guys go moose hunt in cutover with that and see way way up northern ontario...and try it in a cut over you will flip it first day out,,,down south ontario always nice perfect.. trailer it up for 700km highway then another 150km logging road then youl see cochrabe ontario area,,
Its a semi custom vehicle with low production rates. For the oil patch, this is a good work vehicle. And if you think its overkill you probably have never worked in northern Canada. Compared to chartering a helicopter its quite reasonable, especially when working in Muskeg.
@@lpdirvAgreed , a lot of these comments are coming from guys who are comparing these machines to a SxS and they are not that, they are an industrial machine not a toy .
I wonder if every region will make these kind of machines like the tracked vehicles. There must be a maintenance advantage. Foremost makes some very large tracked vehicles. I think Perkins were used quite a bit for the smaller vehicles, but maybe support went to China anyways.
Chinese made diesel engine, $2000 Few square meters of aluminium sheet, $1000 Transmission, $2000 4 big tires, $3000 Other random parts. $2500 MSRP = $145,000
I think it is overpriced. I wouldn’t want to try crossing water with any real current or wind as you would be in big trouble! It needs a built in propeller. At this price it should be as nice inside as a modern farm tractor . I am happy that it is a Canadian company though .
@@vladshcolnik2624incorrect sharp and Argo are co-brands. Now. You need to educate yourself kid. I suggest you quit flapping your lips on the topic you don't understand
@TKPowersports i think the Sasqutch is absolutely awesome.. However every time I see content of those type of vehicles it is always in some type of marshy type or flatland never in mountainous terrain like the hills of Kentucky or Tennessee. also I know you do not care, but at those prices, it's going to be just like a Sasquatch, allusive mythical and impossible to find. a poor sure wont be owning one.
Not much of a test. Compared to all the sherp videos showing it's capabilities, it didn't begin to show the vehicles limits. By the way, you are not fighting currents in that little pond. The motion is like a boat. It wants to continue on it's original path when it is floating unless you make the corrections to change that path.
Did anyone know that Argo purchased the Sherp company only for a short time before Sherp purchased the company back because Argo was trying to put cheaper parts and an inferior enging in the sherp? So the answer is NO, argo CANT build a better Sherp.
You need to educate yourself kid. They didn't purchase them and they didn't purchase themselves back. They entered into an agreement as co-brands. It's a partnership. Educate yourself kid before flapping your lips on the topic you don't understand
I remember when the first sherp came out they were around 50k Then people started liking them so they went up to a 100k Now they have to have all the amenities and they're a 150k how is this one worth more than a sherp. Cool toy but I'd rather buy another house. They have such a dead simple drive train I don't understand how they are so much money.
Twice the price, half the load capacity, a tenth the reliability with that motor. Heck 100k for a sherp is sounding not so bad if your going to get a hyundia engine for 200k. Sherp has skid plates because they know it's going off road. Turn signals mean absolutely nothing off road, how well does a touch screen work when your hands are covered in mud or when it gets wet! More than twice the price for a third the vehicle!
An explanation of the drive system ! Was bit by the old Argo chain drive systems that were junk ! Info on transmission, and drive line would be helpful !!!
1/4 million ... There goes that idea for deer season.
For 200k+, I’ll keep my 4x4 and johnboat.
Yes the price is absurd
Being able to go anywhere is crazy. The sherp style vehicles are one of a kind. Lightweight with balloon tires.
Super fun vehicle. Definitely for industry and the super wealthy...but, imagine a scaled down version! A kit vehicle that checks some the best boxes here.
They had one The original sherp was 50k And it was just dead simple. Apparently people are so soft they all need air conditioner and a 1000 buttons😂
Id take a sherp over this any day...
The horn and light switch looks exactly like a Kioti tractor part!

It's cool , but the sherp has one huge advantage and that you can sleep in it
Great review, if they were less expensive I would have one already.
A loaded tracked Argo is $ 50k, 4x4 diesel pick up $ 120k . These are not toys.
I'm more impressed with the old square body in the background...
Nice to see argo finally do something other than the ol' trusty 6x6 or 8x8 with a ower engine
$190 thousand dollars??😮I thought your fan base was regular people, blue collars. I could see maybe $25k for this silly toy, but for 200k, id buy a house!
It’s an industry tool. Only a toy for the rich. They are very useful and remarkable in what they can tackle
Built in Canada. That raises the price right there.
The price isn’t surprising in today’s economy. Have you seen what a Can-Am Defender is going for? Top of the line 4 door defender is like $40,000 😂
I wish my father was a dad to me like your dad is to you!
Surprisingly heavy, didn't think these would be 5200lbs.
I thought it would be much heavier.
Well, I now know what happened to Thurmon Murmon after his Bad Santa gig played out

$200k and you get a Hyundai engine? Yuck.
According to the Argo dealer website it is 240 000 plus taxes and fees .
Expensive
100,000 mile warranty!!!!
For what it's worth it's actually a Doosan turbo diesel. Hyundai acquired Doosan and just put its name on the engine.
Well, Hyundai makes some pretty decent heavy machinery. The world is a big place outside of the US.

If you can afford it, it would be the ultimate hunting vehicle.
I still don't see why that should cost $190k. Dose Sherp have a patent on that design and Argo is paying a high license fee to build them.
Dude, it's got a stereo. 😁

It is not a rebadged Sherp. It's an Argo designed vehicle and it's built in New Hamburg, On.
This is simply a stolen Sherp design. They were Sherp distributors and took advantage of it.

At least sherpa gives you a real motor
The TUT TRUCK is the best sherp styled vehicle
Quiet on the set!
Lets see this go head to head with a sherp.
Large Companies could afford these Machines as they could write them off-cost of doing business but for common folks, they are rather Pricy...
Even when used on marketplace these things are still ridiculously priced.
Maybe i missed it but If it rolls in the mud or the water onto its roof is there a hatch in the floor to escape if your unable to open the doors?
Looks great. Can it keep up with a sherp Pro 1000.
Same problem is the pickup trucks way way overpriced
I'm sure a small water jet could be fitted? For a quarter of a million they should.
Try out a new Aodes ATV or UTV! Give us an opinion on one of them compared to say a CF Moto and a CAN AM
I would take a sherp. I want the SUV to store stuff and sleep in back. How is a truck bed helpful?
Anyone remember those 6 tire floating things in the 70s
Awesome!
Put a shagt driven turbo prop in the water with it n watch it move in that water
Are they good in the deep snow?
I wondered what happened to you. We haven't seen you for some time when you were with TFL.
I have a 2000 Argo 6x6 bigfoot. It's a POS that gets stuck in a foot of snow.
Very little internal volume, what is the use for this vehicle in the cold if you can't sleep in it? Deck is quite useless too
Good for Argo. They made a great machine, but just not practical. So I hope this takes off.

That's true but the ironic thing is that they will claim the Russians copied it from them very soon cos damn Russians and Chinese copy everything.
Fuel saw etc in the back enclosed tent above back ...nice potential ...100 k less ...

Do they sell one with less electronics in it ? I would like one that’s very very simple air for the tiers that’s about it really.
