I got to see this beauty T5 in the making yesterday when Lee came to the rescue when my MK1 golf cabriolet died on me. Thanks again and looking forward to following the progress on camper 🤙🏼
Hi Leigh I have the fuel colverts on my swamper, very similar in colour .with the Bilsten b6 comfort suspension with eibach springs and BF GOODRIDGE K02S. The ride is just the best 👌
Best thjng I’ve done to my lowly T26 is a 45mm THQ lift kit and 235/65 17 Falken WIldpeak AT3WA tyres on Caravelle alloys, just need a better offset wheel cosmetically.
Had my 40mm lowered on 20"s 2005 T30 174 camper for about 13 years...... Just got back from 2000 mls on nc500 last month and suddenly going swamper , standard springs going on next week, currently choosing my 17"s and a/t tyres,, absolutely cant wait...... Im done,,,,,,sick of constantly avoiding or smashing through un noticed potholes and literally feeling the different types of road surfaces through the steering wheel 😫😫😫,, great video 👍🏻
It’s actually a lot easier to take the hub off and then remove the shock, I’ve got a 12mm hex Allen key socket ground down to form a flat chisel point then fit it into the gap at the rear of the hub, using a long breaker bar to prise it open, no need to get the hammers out
I only watch these vids to see what sexual innuendo Leigh makes, today it was “tag team, double banging” 👏🏼👏🏼😂 Great vid as always, and LOVE the wheels!
Hi Combe valley campers, I have a question about an old video you made if you have the time :) The split charge relay... I am about to add one, only mine is just a big battery switch instead of the typical voltage sensor one. The voltage sensor ones come with a small earth cable, but my manual battery switch doesn't have one. Is that okay, do I need one if both batteries already are grounded to the chassis? Thanks in advanced! Kind regards :)
Im sorry but you've missed out on some serious technical issues: if you dont have droop in your suspension you will loose contact with the road because there is no space for rebound. Secondly, what about the gearing? You've put oversized tires, that will change your gearing completely, not to mention making your speedometer useless. Thirdly, those tires will hit the arches once heavily loaded
On the contrary. I love the ride height, and comfort , especially on the poor roads we have locally. We also drove 2.5k over Europe this winter on German autobahns and such and the noise was absolutely fine :)
@@CombeValleyCampers Okay, I don't know the suspension, but my experience with those tyres is they are noisy compared to road tyres..They are going to be good off and on rough roads. Is the van finished now, if so what else did you do because it was a shed?.
@allanb52 oh yes, definitely noisier but that was expected. It’s getting there, and new videos are coming, we’ve just had a very busy year with workshop work so the videos have slowed. Updates very soon!
@@CombeValleyCampers. I’ve driven well over 400k miles on BFG All Terrains in various 4x4s and my T4 Syncro Doka and can’t say that the noise levels were ever an issue. Saying that the noise deadening was probably better than in a van.
I hear ya! We are wanting to do as much as possible for as cheap as possible, however, this project needs to make an impact and show off the products we want to use and what we are able to do as a business. Thanks for your comments, Leigh

Those wheels set it off perfectly!!
Did like the “tag team, double banging” description 😂
I can’t remember that 🤣 Gotta throw in a bit of Blue for’t dads 😉

I’m very very happy with everything so far, although with no weight in it, it’s a tad bouncy!
Great video, binge watching all your content over the last few days, those wheels look 👌🏻 😎🤟🏻
Now that is a great transformation 👍

Bilsteins and Eibach always the way to go super job

Very cool!! How about the difference in fuel consumption before and after?
This build is getting on nicely 👌🏽
Hats off to yous 🎩
Thank you 🙏

Hi CVC. Great video. Very helpful. Would they rub on a standard ride?
This is great! What would you recommend to achieve the same/similar results on a 2002 T4 Transporter?
Alloy rims and off-road tires look amazing, and they would look even better on my VW T5.1 4MOTION 2014.🤣🤣🤣
That looks fantastic nice touch 👍👍
Thank you

nice wheels but are they on the wide side if you want to drive with low pressures ?
How about front geometry of front weels?
I'm not usually a big fan of alloy wheels, but 2kT5 is looking great 👍
Thanks so much! It’s certainly a big difference
Wicked 🤩
Epic end result! You know you need to raptor paint it in black now right?? Do it Leigh 😉
VantaBlack. Lol
We have some nice plans moving forward…
Would that tyre size rub on standard suspension
Just gonna ask the same
The same question...can these wheels and tyres fitted on standard suspension
What a transformation 👌
It was! I love the new new look!

Looks great :)

Awesome 😎
Hi. What do you charge to fit the suspension? Thanks
Please email info@combevalleycampers.co.uk with your requirements and we can speak further. Leigh
Wait, what? They fit without rubbing, without trimming the fenders and wheelhouses?
💯
Have you had to re calibrate the speedo?
We cannot recalibrate the speedo, but I am aware it is anywhere between 5-10% out depending on the speed
@@CombeValleyCampers I thought it wasn't legal for the speedo to read low, which it undoubtedly will now?
This spring in back look to stif he never test the car ore say how it rely work on offroad
Need Raptor paint now. Drab olive or desert sand.
We have a plan for body and paint ;)
In the USA we would call that van a want to be four wheeler
For sure! I’m looking to fit an LSD to ensure that when we do go soft roading, we have a better chance of getting through!
I see what you have done. The ride is not that good and those noisy BFGs, but better than when it was really crap.
On the contrary. I love the ride height, and comfort , especially on the poor roads we have locally. We also drove 2.5k over Europe this winter on German autobahns and such and the noise was absolutely fine :)

@@CombeValleyCampers If you manage to shut those tyres up, it will be a first. That said they are good off-road, they change everything.

Just the alloys and tyres have doubled the value of the van 😂😂😂
Loving the videos regardless but was hoping it was gonna be a budget friendly build
