I'm really looking forward to seeing further progress. I bought T5 2005 4motion from emergency service company and am planning to fix the ceiling as well. I wonder whether you are planning to install used AC (not climate control) into this van? That would be an excellent challenge for upcoming hot summer.

Been following this then wondered what happened as I'm about to embark on our (similar) van journey... Rip out the previous owners 'part' conversion and put our stamp on it. As for colours / style??? Go for swamper with a Raptor paint job. I see you have the wheels already so go rugged.... Too many people get a vehicle, be it car or van, then polish it within an inch of it's life then obsess / worry / stress over it getting scratched everywhere....

timing couldn't be better, just picked up my 2005 low milage T5, same van.. its like fate.. keeping it pretty much standard and sound deadening, new floor and some new panels in the back, though I will be watching the updates on this one for sure.. I was thinking a two tone white orange would look good on mine but solid orange is also a brilliant colour, maybe that could be a crazy colour change for you.. no windows in mine and barn doors but then its going to be a MTB mule to far off MTB parks.. wind up windows are cool for me and no air con and a radio cassette , what else do you need !! I'm back in the 80's.. great videos \o/
