I haven't been entirely sold on Lies of P until now. This is actually the only LoP video I've wanted to watch, it looks a lot better than I thought it would (Congrats on the little one btw)
I highly recommend it. I was skeptical when it was announced but the demo got my interest and the final game was stunning. I’m not sure I would recommend a player new to Soulslike games as it’s pretty tough but the gameplay systems are absolutely divine.
I wasn't really sold on souls-borne nor souls like games until they creeped up on me starting with my first one being Remnant from the Ashes (because I got the base game for free years ago on Epic and then bought the complete edition on steam) and then I slowly entered melee gameplay with Star Wars Fallen Order and Survivor. Between all of that I did try Sekiro for
Having beaten it once already and currently being about halfway through NG+, I absolutely love it. It's not even just "good for a company that's only made one other game", it's just plain good. I still prefer Bloodborne and Elden Ring, but Lies of P comes _damn_ close to being just as good as either of those games. It manages to stick to everything that makes Souls games work while at the same time adding new and interesting mechanics to the formula which make it stand on its own extremely well. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone that likes Soulslikes, it's a very solid game and I can't wait to see what this company is cooking up next.
@@Insanabiliter_In_Linea I personally prefer Lies of P to Elden Ring. I find a lot of the Elden Ring bosses to be annoying rather than fun, and the big open world is only fun the first time. The game feels like a slog when you just wanna get to the good bits. I really appreciate Lies of P for being a really solid linear game like Bloodborne. You pick it up and can just go. I also find the combat better generally than Elden Ring thanks to the parry system. Elden Ring boss fights can be watching a boss do a 12 hit combo, getting a hit or two in, then watching it again. With Lies of P’s parry you’re never just watching and dodging a long combo, you’re always active and can make your own openings. Personal preference I’m sure but I thought that while Elden Ring has a huge world and better spectacle I think the LoP fights are mechanically more engaging
Congratulations on your child! I'm glad to see Noobus Humanus back. Genuinely find so much joy from it. I love how the Noobus Humanus interacts with games. Such a unique vibe. She's clearly very intelligent and that intelligence allows her to learn from her brief experience of videogames much easier than most gamers. I think game developers should look at this series to get tips on how to design games, such as not putting tutorial messages in the middle of action and keeping them simple. You don't need 2 paragraphs of information to say "Block when enemy red" and "Heavy attack when enemy health bar has white outline"
I’m afraid of how comically salient this statement is bro. Honestly, lmk if I should buy this one, I’ve held off as a result of not being ‘gud’ at Elden Ring but I’ve beaten Bloodborne a few times. Simply put, is the combat like bloodborne?

But just replace the word "walls" in the following outburst with "stairs" I am pretty sure I did the exact same. And all well wishes.
It’s cool to see how your wife wasn’t disheartened by the deaths like she was with some other games. Her constant improvement and the game’s aesthetic appeal really helped maintain her motivation. And congratulations both of you on the infantus humanus!
As a baby Souls player, Lies of P is still the only soulslike I've managed to fully beat so far. It's the game that really made the Souls style of gaming "click" for me -- rather than get frustrated over difficult enemies and constant dying, I instead started looking forward to learning the timing for dodges and parries. I was so surprised to find that in the late game, I was even enjoying the hardest boss fights, because it finally "clicked" for me that each attempt got me closer and closer to understanding the boss and how best to beat them. Rather than thinking "this enemy is impossible for me to beat", I finally started thinking "given enough time, I can beat this enemy EVENTUALLY". It's a super great game and really jumpstarted my confidence in going back into trying actual FromSoft titles.
First off, congratulations on the baby!!! You both will be really amazing parents. Have been waiting for this video to drop for quite a while and when i saw this notification on youtube I just dropped everything and sat to watch this.. Gotta say Noobus Humanus is getting pretty good at these games... Cant wait for the next video in this series... Keep it up!!!
congratulations on the start of a new life with your wife monty!! ive been watching your vids for a while now, and they actually kind of jumpstarted my start into the souls games! Youre going to be great parents :)

Just like the noobus, I was enamored with the world, but I struggled so immensely with the difficulty and just how the entire time playing was so intense and high stress that I simply had to throw in the towel. No shade on the game, I'm just simply not built for it ❤

One thing I noticed about this game that makes me more interested in trying it is that enemies don't seem to kill you in just a few hits. A big reason I don't like games like Nioh or Thymesia is that one hit takes away most your health. This game doesn't seem to have that problem.

Congrats on the baby! Nice idea to get her to play through the demo portion of the game. Really sells the world, combat and overall feel of the game. Would love to see a Lore Explained video on this.

Firstly big Congratulations!! 🎉 And secondly, yaaaaaaaas to this video. I’m obsessed with this game and have only played it through about 12 times and own four copies of it. Seriously an amazing achievement by Round 8 and Neowiz ❤
Congratulations on your little one! As always, it's a joy to see your partner work their way through various games. I actually got Lies of P for Christmas thanks to my sister. She said the art style looked up my alley and she had no clue it was a soulsborne type game. I generally avoid these types of games (I tend to get frustrated easily and I've had a number of bad interactions with the community when attempting to get start Bloodborne some time ago) but Lies of P had me hooked and I made it, I think, a quarter or so of the way through before I got distracted by other games. Honestly, watching your partner go through has encouraged me to pick it back up and see if I can get closer to finishing it.
YES! I've been waiting for this forever! Noobus Infantem is a thing! Oh, and seeing her play Lies of P was cool, too. No, but seriously, congratulations to you both!!! And thank you for a very enjoyable video. Lies of P is probably my favorite soulslike, and she's 100% right that it belongs at the top. It's just as good, if not better, than much of FromSoftware's work (come at me). If it had come out any other year, it would have had a shot at GOTY and is the closest thing to a perfect game I've played in a long time.
I always love seeing Noobus Humanus episodes pop up specifically for the little announcements that come with it. Congrats you two! As someone who learned early and often in previous titles that parrying was just not for me, I feel her pain with this one... I went through almost my entire first run with a similar hop-and-dodge mindset, leaning heavily on summons for bosses. When it did eventually click though, it was like playing an entirely different game.
Its been so wonderful to follow this series and hear it go from girlfriend to fiance to wife, and now she's going to be a mom. Congratulations! Also, when I started watching this series, my then boyfriend (now husband) was first getting me into gaming, and this series encouraged me to keep trying. When you have literally zero gaming experience, simple things like the camera and combat controls can be really challenging, and its nice to see someone else wrestle with them and improve gradually over time.

Cpngrats! And that was a beautiful ending song - very sweet for a child announcement! Watching you guys spend time together and break down reactions to the game is always a treat
I thought it was interesting how she would save her final heal until she was fairly low. Knowing that that charge will refresh with enough good play, I was always eager to use the heal early in hopes that the next one would come along before I needed it again. The fact she was so used to conserving resources from previous games that she didn't catch on to this bit of strategy speaks mountains about how important heals are as a resource in games, especially soulslikes. Also, I think it's significant that she felt like it was underwhelming to win with the summon. I am too a defender of summons (play the way you want to play), but I will always be a proponent of beating the game at least once without them on the main bosses for that very reason.
Can't believe you're putting the mother of your child through this stress. Although, it seems her gaming intuition is getting better and better. Also the monstro music is sending me back.
First off, from a person that got this randomly recommended to me: Groncadulationes to thee both with all the achievements so far and the new life into thine midst, and wish you both a lot of good for the future! And your voices are pleasant. Second off: On the frond of Souls-ish type of games, and since you mention loving the monsters and an earnest story, has Clash: Artifacts of Chaos ever come to your attention? Very colorful, gnarly world that some have compared to The Dark Crystal, or something else that Jim Henson studios could have made. It's a prequel to the Zeno Clash games which were FPS beat-em-ups (from 2009 and 2013 respectively) but take a different turn. This time with some Souls-recognizable elements, third person perspective, and finding different martial arts styles and special attacks to assign to your freak of a protagonist, a fighting hermit by name of Pseudo. It's not an outright Soulslike. There's not really anything like it. For what it is: it's very well-written and acted, solid and fun gameplay, AWESOME atmosphere, art direction, world and music. Can really warmly recommend. Thank you for reading this through, and have a good one!
Ngl clicked on the video not expecting much. Just another "made so and so play..." But i haven't laughed out loud this much watching a video in a while. Your wife is hilarious! Great video. Lies of P is such a fun game, glad she enjoyed it. Congrats on the baby, cheers!
I bought this game just a few days ago and while I haven’t finished it yet, I fell in love with it immediately. I love the aesthetic and combat and so far, whenever I died, it felt like it was genuinely my mistake rather than getting stuck on something and cornered by the enemy. It sid happen but idk if I gor lucky or the AI is programmed that way but the enemies would back up to give me room to dodge out of the corner again
Lies of P did the only thing I ask of all media that take heavy inspiration from something else. They altered the formula enough to feel unique, and focused heavily on bringing their creative perspectives, all with a clear understanding of what worked.
I’m so glad you made your wife play this. I’m not a big soulsborne fan (except for Bloodborne and Sekiro) but I loved Lies of P. Congrats on becoming a dad as well! Hope you find time to play anything now. lol I wish you luck.

I've never been this early! Congrats to both of you on your new bundle of joy!
We have to start calling you "Papa Monty" from now on 😁.
Love your videos! The editing is just superb and hilarious. l'm hoping for a Noobus about Another Crab's Treasure!
Huzzah!!! Congrats on the baby!!!
Ngl clicked on the video not expecting much. Just another "made so and so play..." But i haven't laughed out loud this much watching a video in a while. Your wife is hilarious! Great video. Lies of P is such a fun game, glad she enjoyed it. Congrats on the baby, cheers!
Congratulations Monty! Wish you and your Noobus all the best! 😊
In X number of years, we will have Noobus Humanus Jr plays? XD
Always love seeing a Noobus Humanus vid
Congratulations on the baby
At the end, she's actually hitting a lot of those parries really well. She's actually killing it.
Oh my god! Congratulations on being a parent!
I don't know if the Kingdom Hearts Monstro music counts as a deep cut for this video, but I'm glad it's here anyway
Lies of P did the only thing I ask of all media that take heavy inspiration from something else. They altered the formula enough to feel unique, and focused heavily on bringing their creative perspectives, all with a clear understanding of what worked.
Thanks 🎉
I’m so glad you made your wife play this. I’m not a big soulsborne fan (except for Bloodborne and Sekiro) but I loved Lies of P. Congrats on becoming a dad as well! Hope you find time to play anything now. lol I wish you luck.
