    for those of u who need some troubleshooting with golems not spawning:
    - take off the torch the first night, let the villagers sleep to make the beds their own
    - make sure the beds are facing with the head away from the zombie
    - make sure there are no other golems around ( so don't build it right by the village)

    The tutorial should definitely mention why we are going up 5 blocks from the ground. It's so the golem doesn't spawn at the bottom instead of in the farm itself, I placed it in a not ideal Terrain because I didn't know that, and I had to Terraform around the farm so that the ground is lower there.

    If you're using this farm and trying to duplicate it for more efficiency, keep note that villagers need to be **16** blocks away from other villagers (due to java edition rules) to spawn their own unique iron golem. I made a mistake and did 10 blocks away like from what the video said. Otherwise great farm efficiency for its build.

    Great farm, super easy. As some of the comments said, 2 important things to note:
    1. Make sure you build the farm on a flat area. There is a radius around the villagers where golems can spawn and if you have terrain around the farm that is inside that radius the golems will spawn there instead of on the platform
    2. make sure the villagers sleep in the beds before starting the redstone clock or golems will not spawn at all

    I am on 1.20.6. For anyone asking why iron golems aren't spawning anymore after awhile of it running. I had the same thing happen to me, for some reason adding another level of walls around the water made iron golems start spawning again. So instead of one high wall you would have two high. I would also suggest added more hoppers under the walls as ingots sometimes slide past the one row of hoppers and gets stuck under the walls.

  • @mizu4305
    @mizu4305 2 ปีที่แล้ว +291

    Tips for beginners (like me)
    1. You need to get A LOT of iron
    5 Hoppers is 25 iron
    If you are transporting the village with a minecart (it’s the most effective or only way) it’s another 11 iron: 5 for the minecart and 6 for the railroad
    6 iron and a stick makes 16 Railroad which was just enough for me
    Also using a name tag requires an anvil
    That’s another 31 iron
    That’s a total of 66 iron to build this
    Still you don’t really have to name the zombie for the farm to start working
    As long as you stay within the 32 block range of the zombie it won’t despawn
    Then you can use the iron from the farm for the anvil
    2. Shift before right-clicking to place signs above signs
    3. For people who built their base on an island, getting zombies can be a pain
    However drowned can work the same as zombies, and are really easy to find in water biomes, also you won’t be ganged up by other types of mobs

    • @PsyraDigitL

      So if I travel away I have to get another zombie in there?

    • @mizu4305
      @mizu4305 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@PsyraDigitL yeah, so I suggest getting the villager into range first (if you’re trading for the name tag), craft and use the anvil inside the range
      Basically don’t leave it once you have the zombie in place
      Still zombies aren’t that hard to find
      If you leave your set up for leading the zombie intact you can find another one quite easily

      I don't recommend building this farm without a tag. I tried building this with a zombie that has a weapon, he despawned. Staying within 32 blocks all the time is unrealistic. So my advice is to build this farm when you have a tag already.

    • @mizu4305
      @mizu4305 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@inferionemperor5219 you can activate the farm before getting an anvil, then use the iron from the farm to make one

    This design has a few oversights, at least in the current build of Minecraft. Somehow, both the Golem and its loot drops often fall over the side of the wall. A simple fix seems to be to just make the wall around the Golem 2 blocks high instead of just 1.

      Just to follow up, the farm seems to be designed in a minimalist way. The ground level you're building the farm on, is one level lower than what the Iron Golem can spawn on. Simply placing a block around the farm will allow the golem to spawn on top of that block, outside of the farm.
      Make sure the area is clear and level around your farm, or simply build the farm a little higher. I've also taken to building the walls on top, 3 blocks high just to be safe. You could also use something like glass or glass panes if you're wanting to see the Golem and your farm at work.

    This farm is broken in 1.19.4 but I found a fix for it. The problem is that the villagers will get stuck in panicked mode and won't sleep through the night. If they do not sleep through the night then golems won't spawn. I first tried flipping the beds around so that the villagers couldn't see the zombie when in bed, but that didn't work.
    The solution I came up with was to hook up an inverted daylight sensor to the block that the redstone torch is attached to. This fixed the problem since at night the daylight sensor runs a constant signal into the block which deactivates the torch and locks the zombie in a lowered position. The bad part about this is that golems won't spawn during nighttime, which cuts your profits in half.
    However, this might be possible to remedy by using some sort of setup to spam right click on a bed with a weighed down key, but the sleep AFK setup would only work if you wake up immediately facing another bed which you can then spam right click on, and essentially swap between the beds over and over while AFK... I'll have to test more to see if it is possible to make a setup like this.

    Can confirm this works on Java 1.19.4
    A couple of things to keep in mind when building this:
    1. Make sure to build it high enough so the iron golems wont spawn underneath the farm. Seen this issue happen according to previous comments.
    2. Make sure your farm isnt built in between chunks. I made this mistake and had to rebuild it because the iron golems werent spawning.

    **READ if Iron golems do not spawn or spawn outside, this is what happened to me, it may help you:
    1) Please make sure NO golems around (16X*16Y*16Z). I had 5 around, I killed them all and it started spawning. **Be careful golems are very strong. Need my trident to hit 11 times to kill one.
    2) If golems spawn outside, you need to terraform underneath to make it level, which means make a flat surface. Mine is built on a slope, after I flatten the land (16X*16Z) it works perfectly fine.
    **Search "spawn golem minecraft" and read the iron golem Wiki, make sure your iron farm fulfill all the requirements! And apparently it only works on Java.
    **Some minor things:
    1) You need to connect your hoppers and the chest. Sneaking (or crouching) then right click the existing hopper to place the next hopper. From outside you will see the hopper bottom is pointing to the next one and the last one point down to the chest.
    2) If your repeater doesn't work, after you placed the red dust torch, try to remove the repeater that doesn't work and place it again, it may connect! (It works for me).
    I hope the above tips help :D I spent the whole afternoon trying to figure it out and finally my iron farm works!

Then you can fill a chest of poppies and the rest goes to composting. This way you save on redstone and you still have a buffer of poppies if you ever need red dye or decoration flowers

Make sure the villagers sleep an entire night before using the zombie 2. If there are iron golems spawning but just outside make sure to clear some land below and placing slabs below may help 3. A little input for the quad farm shown as 6:47, the little “wall pillar” at the end of the water stream (the part right before the killing chamber) will have the iron golem stuck occasionally, it is rare but it happens. • @darkanayer5867

      @@darkanayer5867 you run the risk of spawning the golem on those 2 high walls unless you were to spawnproff them. This probably won't get seen, but for the people on Java, the villagers need to sleep at night or golems won't spawn. You can use a daylight sensor set to detect night, to deactivate the redstone torch, which lets the villagers sleep at night. It's obviously half efficient but it will stop working after 1 day without it.
    Just bridge out on the block with the torch by 3, place the daylight sensor on the end, click on it once to change to night, then fill the rest of the distance with 3 redstone. (This is when being placed in the day)
