Several months into old G55 ownership. Even as a lifetime truck owner used to use dynamics, confirmed your life will flash in front of your eyes at least once with the power, lack of braking, and lean this thing has, but once you’re used to it it’s a beauty. Not great on rocky terrain, but these things are at their prime bombing down dirt roads at 70-80km.
Like you are talking about my life, I live with the same car in Norway. But when you got a dream you got one, so sticking with it. There is something special with G's. BUT, better start saving for the electric version 😅
there's a youtuber called G wise. Check his cannel out, he does the infotainment conversion and the gauge cluster conversion for G55 AMG to 2013-2018 G63 AMG Models.
Nicely done mate. I can't imagine owning one in the UK, the cost of petrol usage in Texas is bad enough! You're dead right on the truck/agricultural vehicle feel, and that's the joy in owning one - all the quirks and cool factor of it. Recommend a lift with new springs, wheel spacers, and larger all terrain tires, it makes the truck look and function even better. Won't help with the drive-thru though. 😆
Cool vid👍 I bought my 2006 Gelandewagen G55 AMG in 2020. It looks just like a new vehicle, only done 31000 km/19000 miles since new. Imported from Japan. Cheers from me in Norway

Hi, they were in the car when I bought it. I have a feeling they are from a E/CLS class. They have the Later AMG logo on them (post 2010) so aren't original to the car. I also think they are slightly too wide as the leather creaks on the centre console... Odd eh?
I have a 2016 G63 and the braking is excellent, commenter claims “ I can move the steering g wheel and nothing happens” yet the camera sways back and forth corresponding to the wheel movements?
The G63 has 6 pot calipers, the G55 doesnt. For the amount of steering imput I moved the wheel, the car barely moves. The recirulating ball joint steering on W463s is terrible :(
Hi, I own a 2015 G350 “Bluetech”. DPF and Cats have been removed and Reprogrammed. Had Cat Blockage issues. I saw on your Video at about 12:30 that your car has spacers in. Mine is a 35 Year Edition. All stock, except for the spacers. Will NEVER sell this car and you are right, it cannot be compared with other cars as it is its own identity completely.
Hi, the car has 2cm H&R spacers all around. these were fitted when I purchased the car. I haven't driven it without them I'm afraid so I can't compare, however I havent had any issues whatsoever. thanks

Ignore what Hoovies Garage says, the reflection is barely an issue. I have only once seen a reflection once and wondered what it was. Otherwise its never been an issue. Just go into it with an open mind, its a small truck, NOT a car. Kompressor or non Kompressor are you going for?
