    Video transcript:
    Normally people think making diagnosis from symptoms is like a matching game. Let me explain what I mean by that. When someone famous gets diagnosed with a disease the media talks about that disease a lot. But what exactly do they say? They repeat the same pattern. They invite doctors and experts to TV and ask, "what are the symptoms of this disease?" For example, let's call it disease A. All they talk about is how disease A have these 4 symptoms. Let's call them symptom 1, symptom 2, symptom 3 and symptom 4. What do people learn from that news? People learn that if you have the combination of these 4 symptoms, you have disease A. They also learned that if someone has being diagnosed with disease A, that person is likely to have these 4 symptoms. But, is that true? What if you have 2 out of the 4 symptoms? Do you then have a fifty percent chance of having that disease A?
    Now let's look at the bigger picture now we have three diseases to compare. Each disease shares some common symptoms with the other but has a unique set of symptoms. Now if someone has symptom 1 and symptom 4, does that person have disease A or disease B? If someone has symptom 2 and symptom 3, does that person have disease A or disease C? The more important question is: if someone has an exact match, is that person more likely to have that disease than the disease with incomplete match? For example, if someone has the combination of symptoms 1, 2, 3 and 4 can that person still have disease B or disease C? So how do we decide? Where is the missing factor?
    The most important factor, the one that you should look at first, and the one that is almost entirely absent from these discussion and completely ignored by talking heads on TV is the patient. Analysis of any symptom must start from the patient. All these factors associated with the patient matter.You need to know that person very well before you try to make any sense of symptoms in that person. So, what are a few things about the patient that influences how symptoms appear in that patient? The age of the patient, the gender, the body mass index, occupation, level of physical activity, life experiences, smoking habits, alcohol use, history of any prior medical problems and even the personality of that patient matter. After you know your patient very well you move on and analyze the particular symptom in detail, not just take that symptom on it's face value to make the diagnosis. So, you ask where exactly it started, what kind of pain was it, what made it worse,what made it better, how long did it last and whether it was a constant or intermittent. All these details and the patient factors give us a picture and help us decide what could be going on inside the patient's body and this is how we make the diagnosis.

      Thanks for the video content! Forgive me for butting in, I would love your opinion. Have you thought about - Trentvorty Visible Beauty Theorem (just google it)? It is a great one of a kind product for getting rid of your Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS/ME) without the normal expense. Ive heard some decent things about it and my BF got cool results with it.

    I'm lucky if I see my gp for 5 minutes and everytime it's a different one. First they said costochondritis then possible chronic pain possible atypical fibromyalgia now might be nerve pain. All they ever want to give me is amitriptyline. There are days I get upset being in pain 3 years and not knowing why is scary.

    Basically, a good and thorough history taking will most likely give you a good and accurate diagnosis.

    BMI, you're done. Unless your diagnosis is disproportionality. There it some truth here, but on the matter of diagnosis of disease, I find this wanting. The human body is a system of systems which is unique to the individual. The dynamics of such a system requires much more than a statistic with a very broad range of probability. It's in the medicine and understanding of where one can successfully intervene in that system without risking the vitality of it. Heads up doc: the elements of a system are not the sum-total of that system. It's the parts that fight to remain homeostatic.

      You will find that all parts attribute to function, but not all of those parts can be altered to present dynamic equilibrium.

    One day a computer is going to do all this stuff like a super chess grand master computer.

    • @antdx316
      @antdx316 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** Right, one day it will get so good people will believe it more than they will believe people, but the most important cruical piece to this ultra computer is the information that is valid for use has to be filtered by people with a great understanding of what is fake and what isn't. What works and what doesn't work otherwise people can come and leave with inferior out-of-date incorrect information that will remain with them and spread from them forever and ever until the update shows up. Like when people leave their computer without an update. Some bugs remain until the update is done. Picking up stuff off the shelve and never updating. This is why Apple forces updates and Microsoft does it automatically. The BIOS does not update by itself though. Also router updates too. Smartphones update but the car modules don't either. OTA (over the air) it doesn't as it could be a problem if it fails rendering the vehicle inoperable and if in the super high heats of death valley I think it could be an issue.
      You should realize how computers think. They think because the people running and maintaining them know how it should operate. If they fail, everyone who uses it will fail too.

      ***** Because good programmers need to exist for this to work. Medications and disease are the most touchy subjects. The most controversial if done wrong. How the system is setup is people are experimented but it's quiet. Otherwise if people had some idea on what really does work and a computer told them the right or wrong things there would be more rioting than what happened with the police brutality cases and presidential elections. In other words, mass chaos and corruption for the sake of few who lack the knowledge that it's the foundation that prevents disease by giving the body what it needs to properly execute tasks not synthetic medication. I think because there is a lot of mutated disease synthetic medication can help but other things like colloidal silver was proven to fix those mutated strains that are antibiotic resistant. Because it is not an essential nutrient and was shown way back due to lack of research to be ineffective people will dismiss it. As long as people can work properly, on time, every time they are on their own with their problems (back, shoulder, mental, etc.) People share information but not everyone. Most people are on their own with their problems zombified by sleeping and waking up on time everyday lacking certain abilities to think outside the box necessary to "invent" and implement what is needed. It's really about paying bills and being worried about having "no money". Experimental means through spending a bit more is dangerous and cancelled out before initial execution. Anti-cancer methods not working but funded and people know it's experimental and kept quiet forever but they do have to pay. Maybe eventually it would work but at the expense of people going medically bankrupt. I would say other strategies but I feel I would get blamed if people do it. All I can say, thousands of dollars for free experimenting on people with synthetic means because of the huge FDA investments trying to discover new things is what should be happening well shouldn't because the method is doing it wrong and another method in place is better such as, if you had to drive to work for 5 miles you learn how to drive and operate and maintain your vehicle properly. If you were to take a bicycle instead you through out that car method. If you decide to helicopter fly you throw out those other methods. If you decide to walk then you exercise ways on how to make it to work properly. You stretch, you bundle up, etc. I'm not saying you switch to all the methods depending on the conditions such as cost, weather, and traffic but you can only choose one to do all the time forever. Also the other option is to boat to work over water or choose to fly a small aircraft. The other option is to swim properly die by getting eaten by a shark, jellyfish, drowning, or hypothermia. Given you can fly, it's definitely better than all the other methods if the distance from point to point is like 10 miles. So I'm saying, the method matters and if you learn one way you don't have to learn the other unnecessary things like how to file paperwork when it's all done on the computer. Learning how to write fast becomes pointless as typing on the computer is totally the new method. It could be like learning a pointless language that gets meaning less like Zimbabwean money when you could have just learned a more universal language day one. I'm saying those synthetic means may turn out to be scrubbed later on as it does more harm than good and to all the poor people who were experimented, they can remain "fucked" forever. If it takes me 5 steps to do what most people do in 20, I prefer to share my method so we can all be 4x more efficient unless of course they are on the other team then the idea is to make them do 50000x more steps but what if the idea is even if someone can complete 1 step in 500x they make it into heaven because some people need to complete 50000 steps at 1x because for them to make it into heaven their currency is different? Maybe the idea is not to know how to maximize performance everywhere for the sake of sanity because if you knew..
