i think that it was really all she could’ve done. she did express multiple times that she didn’t trust him, but every single arcanist she fights gaslights her into thinking that her sacrifice was in everyone’s interest bc she was putting her friends in danger. in the end she hoped that at least some part of what jedah said was true. growing up as a priestess (especially with the brand), she was always taught that a land without gods was doomed. anyway, celica and her army were strong enough imo to fight through jedah (or at least hold their ground until alm got there (like she did in gaiden). the echoes adaption of this was just so alm could save her.
@@cooperwarren1899That is true, I mean as well as a priestess, Celica has likely seen war, hardships and what people will do when they’re desperate more so than Alm so perhaps she may have lost hope in humanity. She has her kindness, yes but sometimes it can be a double edged sword and that’s how people like Jedah took advantage of her. She also has her flaws just like Alm does in the game. I think it’s also worth noting that Jedah could also represent a dark parallel of Celica as both are faithful to their pateron gods, but Jedah took it to the extreme while Celica knew her limits.
