- This video is a mix, or mashup, consisting of several variations on the battle music "The Apex of the World" from the Fire Emblem series. It consists of soundtracks from the Nintendo Switch titles Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes.
The song "The Apex of the World" is a culmination of the themes throughout the story. With the duality of tones between triumph and defeat, each side of the war is portrayed. Between the two, one must suffer defeat whilst the other prevails, whether it is Edelgard's enthralling insurgence or Dimitri's efforts to preserve the peaceful days. Initially, the motif from "Fódlan Winds" appears within the music "The Apex of the World," representing the times of serenity found before the war. However, a despairing anthem identical to the theme "The Edge of Dawn" overcomes the peaceful melody as things take a turn for the worst. One ruler must crumble under the pressure of the enemy as the weight of the world is held strong by the shoulders of the other force. Both leaders have overcome times of immense suffering to reach this final battle; both rulers have goals within reach, yet they are equally reliant on the outcome of the fight at the pinnacle of the war. At the climax of one's strength and skill, only one can remain-while the other must fall. Only one force of the war may return to the peace that both have so earnestly sought after. Both sides desired peace; be that as it may, the war must press forward. After slaughtering so many and eradicating their opportunities to relive the peace, is one more kill simply too much? Or are you just going to surrender?

Yeah the Golden Deer are so irrelevant and so much of an afterthought that they didn’t even get their own original story.

For me I think its more blue lions and black eagles are the center focus while the golden deer get more into the underbelly to show the players behind the screen. Yeah that makes golden deer feel like more of a lore dump but it allows the fighting between the other two move smoother without being interrupted to find out why its happening

Their dynamic is my favourite part of the story and we don’t get nearly enough screen time of the two interacting. Guess it makes sense since Edelgard doesn’t remember him so he’s a stranger to her but still.

@@pearsemolloy9656 Their dynamic is one of the best parts of the game. I wished they would've done more with their interactions as well. It would've so cool if they had support convos pre-timeskip to explore their relationship and their past and that would affect how things panned out post-timeskip.
It give woould give supports significantly more impact on the directions the plot can go, rather than just operating as a paired ending function.
If you ask me the two are idiot that unwilling to compensate one is radical revolutionist while another is overly conservative.
For Edelgard fire emblem world dynamic is different, normal human is not as powerful as emblem wielder so pure equality meritocracy is out of the question, but that doesn't mean subtle change can't be introduced Rome is not build in a single day, it's effort of multigeneration.
For Dimitri he's too afraid to change and chained to tradition, sometimes change is welcome one while it's risky it is something that ruler willing to take if they want their rule to be prosperous, one should consider risk and reward of such and good ruler won't be afraid to do so.
Then again not gonna expect that deep storytelling from game intended for kids I can't help thinking that Blyeth is taking very shallow decision to just get rid of opposing party, is that what teacher suppose to do? Play favorite? Smh.

Apex of the World, God-Shattering Star and Funeral of Flowers all sound like finishing moves Owain and Ophelia (and maybe Sophie and Percy) would scream at the top of their lungs
It's incredible to me how well Three Hopes' version blends to the original's 'rain' and 'thunder' versions. They all feel like if they were intended as a boss fight it would be in four phases, ramping up slightly in intensity with each version until it peaks at the Part 2 Inferno.
And oh boy does that song peak...it keeps going higher and higher even when you think it couldn´t!
Never played FE before. Just got this in my recommended, and wow that picture with the beautiful & epic music is already driving my imagination crazy. Might actually buy a switch just for that game
I highly recommend them. First game coming to mind when someone says they think about getting a Switch, I always recommend FE3H. Start with Three Houses and if you liked it get Three Hopes because Three Houses is the base. You don't need the DLC but it adds a lot and is recommended. Those are two games with two different genres: Three Houses is a Tactics JRPG and Three Hopes is a Musou game, they have the same characters.
I've only played a few of them (3 gba games and the remake of Gaiden) and I'll say this; the story alone is worth your time. The music and gameplay are amazing as well but the conversations and life lessons you can get out of the story are touching. Also, recruit everyone and don't let anyone die or u did it wrong 😋

Apex of the World inferno got me jumping in hype, it’s just so good.

You hear different versions of the song during the entire story, and then, in the last fight, this song drops
A sad anthem, a triumphant song, everything all in one, and represents Edelgard's struggles to change the world just as well as Dimitri's struggles to protect it
Even the name says a lot, "Apex of the World" you and your comrades are finally at the top, no one and nothing is above you, at least for this moment, you're on the peak of your strength and skills, you've done it, you have climbed this mountain, congrats.
But someone is here too, a person that suffered too, a person that has an objective too, and only one can stay here, yes, it is sad that one has to go back, but after everything you have done up until now, are you gonna just surrender?
Exactly. It’s pretty clearly meant to the the ‘climax’ song of 3H, with all the already established motifs from the rest of the soundtrack.
Reminds me a lot of Undertale. Where Hopes and Dreams/SAVE the World is overshadowed by Megalovania.

@@joonieh1 different contexts, and Claude route was filled with lore too, God Shattering Star represents the true end of a great corruption and Apex of the world represents the end of a war and hope for the future
I perfer At What Cost the most out of all final boss music's, yeah technically it isn't actual final boss music but it hits harder than the other music

Honestly with how the music after Awakening got better; it would have been a tragity if Fire emblem died at Awakening. Between how 3/4ths if not more of Shadows of Valentia nailed a refurbished Gaiden feel with great songs; we got so many more songs that just hit it out of the park.
Fire Emblem music has always hit me harder than most tracks from other games I've played. This is especially true for Three Houses; although I haven't played any other route apart from Blue Lions so far (I love my boy Dimitri too much to put him through the pain he goes through in the other routes), you can tell that each character whole-heartedly believes in their cause and each one is pushing for their own ideal of a better world. To me it's both the most inspiring and most depressing title in the franchise: it's a legitimate clash of ideals, and though you know that you're actively working for the betterment of Fodlan, you can't help but remember all the others who had to give their lives and dreams up for you to get to this point. It's a beautiful game, my favorite from one of my favorite franchises, and this music perfectly encapsulates the struggle every character goes through in their story.
I recommend playing the other routes. I’m gonna be honest, I didn’t like Dimitri at first, (Chose Edelgard), then went Claude for a Neutral route, but it wasn’t until 3 hopes got announced that I decided to replay 3 houses again, and I had to go Dimitri to understand more of the story. His story was probably the best imo.
Shoutout to Three Houses, the best soundtrack in the Fire Emblem franchise. Nintendo had no right making so many bangers
Based. Yes and no, 3h ost and by extent hopes is a massive banger in the series, but don't forget that previous games had crazy bangers too

Just hearing that first 20 seconds makes me want to replay Three Houses. It's definitely my favourite FE game, despite its flaws, and I honestly miss the stories and characters of Fódlan.
Three Houses technically requires at least 4 playthroughs to see all the stories, and probably more to unlock all the support convos. And the class flexibility makes multiple replays way more tolerable because you can totally go for wacky builds like making a Mage and Armor Knight or just try another less optimal path for your students.
Gameplay in Engage is solid but damn I hated that game was a more "run of the mill" FE game rather than building up on the good things Three Houses had. At least branching story paths would have been welcomed. Engage is a game you can play once or twice and truly be done with it
I hope the next Fire Emblem goes back to this, no more fanservice-laden anime stuff, just some quality epic fantasy, excellent characters, and peak music.

Engage has according to me the best gameplay of all FE games I have played. The balanced gameplay is there, maddening is trully a challange (compared to 3H), lots of options/tactics and the animations are beautiful.
Keep that and remove the anime garbage (i like anime, but not in my FE), fanservice and god-awful sleeze-story.
Seriously. I put over 100 hours into 3H and haven't felt so connected to a game's cast of characters since then.

Lore wise The Nabateans were part of the laguz race I blieve. Sothis traveled through a dragons gate an ended up n fodlan. N blazing blade we no a lot of the dragons fled into dragons gate to escape tht world. I’m gessing sothis ended up here n fodlan after said events during the scouring.

Throughout most of the games, the dragons who sealed their draconic power into dragonstones and could use them to transform back and forth between dragon and humanoid forms are known as Manakete.
There's some real support for the idea that Sothis was a particularly powerful manakete from the Divine Dragon tribe, one roughly on the level of power of Naga from the Archanea series games. Time control magic similar to that which Naga used in Awakening, green hair typical of the Divine Dragon tribe, crest stones effectively being dragonstones with their transformative capabilities, her "arriving" on the planet one day rather than being native to the world Fodlan is part of, and so on. The only thing holding the theory back is the lack of explicitly shown Dragon/Outrealm Gate in Three Houses.

What is amazing with this OST is that I can listen it on loop / thousands of times I never get tired of listening it. Like, on my maddening BL run I had to retry the final map a lot but the OST never was a problem. 10/10.
The OST is the most relaxing part about that map on Maddening and that's because it's a banger.

It was like going from Game of Thrones to a Saturday morning cartoon
We got two games, actually. Three Hopes actually does a _phenomenal_ job not only expanding upon the supports between each unit, but introducing a unique new main character _(that actually talks!)_ who slots right into the world and story amazingly well. You get to play as and interact with characters who were only mentioned or barely seen in the original, and the music is top-tier. It's so good I have to admit I can hardly go back to Three Houses' music anymore... 😅

Damn this just hits like a ton of bricks on a first blue lions run. Dimitri set the standard for main characters going forward man. Amazing arc and Journey that climaxes hearing this beautiful finale
as incredible as Apex of the World is in FEW, it just reminds me of how dirty Edelgard got did. Edelgard either triumphs over the old order of Fodlan, or fails on her own terms, after giving up everything for one last battle. Here it only plays in Azure Gleam, and she's a fucking zombie?????
The thing about 3H is that no matter what side you're on, the game is entirely about Edelgard. Edelgard is the protagonist. The world of 3H is her world, you're just living in it, even if you oppose her. The first thing you hear when you boot up the game is basically her character song. The last thing you hear on 2 routes is...the same song.

What the dev said is that a character needed to fulfil the role of starting the war, saying that in the previous games, this was the "Antagonist" role , the "evil empire" but for 3House they ultimately chose Edelgard and the Empire as fit best within her story.

Honestly wasn’t sure how they could make Alex of the World any better than it already was, but I’m genuinely not sure which one I prefer because they did so good on the remix. I like them equally. The og fits the tone, and emotion really well with the given situation, while the remix is more so epic but still immaculate

I absolutely love the art, but i have a question. In every route besides his own, dimitri doesn't have an eyepatch. Where in the events of the blue lions timskip specifically did dimitri get an eyepatch, and why did he not get it in the other routes?
Dimitri has the eyepatch in every route but CF. That's bc the events that happen in the timeskip are the same in all non-CF routes, but CF has a different timeskip. In CF, Rhea escapes from the attack on Garreg Mach, and takes refuge in the kingdom, and Dimitri becomes king. Cornelia never betrays the kingdom nor sentences dimitri to death.

can someone explain what the thunder fire infeno rain really means?
both three houses and three hopes have multiple versions of battle themes that are dynamically mixed and swapped; one calmer, for the tactical map view, and one more bombastic for the combat cutscenes in houses or normal gameplay in hopes. houses uses a storm theme for its names (rain for the quiet version, thunder for combat), and hopes uses a flame theme (fire for the pause menu map, inferno for combat).

Kind of. The song is more centered around Edelgard's placement in the story of Three Houses since the song it's based off of, Edge of Dawn, is sung from Edelgard's POV.
"Rain" is when she is completly cornered and turns into a monster threwing her humanity as well as her ideals for humanity's future away for a last chance to win, and forcing Dimitri and the Lions to strike her down permanently. Hence why it sounds a little tamer and less bombastic than the others.
"Thunder" is supposed to be Edelgard's triumphant last charge and conclusion to her quest to unite Fodlan and change the system the Church had put into place that ended up limiting humanity's growth.
"Inferno" is the composition used for Three Hopes specifically the chapter where Edelgard takes control of the Empire back from the corrupt nobles and Those Who Slither in the Dark much earlier and more completely than what was seen in Three Houses. It's basically used to symbolize Edelgard's burning ambition to see things done as quickly as possible no matter the gamble. The second part of "Inferno" is when the boss appears on the map and the music changes to signify their appearance.
Nope. All battle themes in three houses have Thunder and Rain versions. Other one plays during a battle action and the other one plays on the map, and inferno is a battle theme for 3hopes

@@icards7986 the inferno version of this track is from Azure Gleams final boss. It’s never used in Scarlet Blaze at all. The track you are thinking of is the “main theme” remix.

Also, when they remake the game in 20 years (which is a given in the video game industry) I hope we get some kind of Golden/Perfect route when you can at least avoid Edelgard and Dimitri killing each other in their stories. They ending up together would be too much like a fanfic although it certainly would mean the balance in Fodlan is achieved. At least they could learn to respect each other´s point of view and find both a common enemy and common ground to push forward.

This is one of my favorite games, but I think it's biggest problem is for being a game centered around three routes, the other 2 (3) routes just don't hold up well enough compared to blue lions
