- We took a weekend road trip to America's Newest National Park - New River Gorge National Park and Preserve located in beautiful West Virginia. This park is free to enter, and the camping is free as well as first come first serve. We only had a few days to discover the park, and after doing some research we picked the highest rated hikes and overlooks. We camped overnight in our 4Runner on one of the free campsites inside of the park.
We really enjoyed our visit to this park, and would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable adventure!

The mountains of WV is truly a hidden gem. So many places to overland and camp. Was just at Williams Rivers last weeking in my 4Runner camping. Heading to Cranberry Glades next weekend.
Thats awesome!
It's a beautiful place. Been through the area many times.
We loved it!

West Virginia is the best kept secret!!!
It’s truly is!
yessss!!! Ice cream at camp in the rain sounds good right now. We went to Redwood National Park last year during a rain storm. It felt miserable at camp because it rained for 24hrs straight and our tent got flooded. I woke up in the middle of the night with water streaming down the side of my body and legs, lol. but we made the best of it and had a wonderful time.
Yes!! What we’ve learned in our traveling experiences, is that a positive attitude makes all the difference! Nothing ever goes according to plan, and that’s half the fun! But a flooded tent is no joke…Glad you made the best of it!
We haven’t been to Redwood yet! But it’s in the plans. Was it awesome? Any good recommendations??
@@sayadventures Definitely check out Fern Canyon and bring water shoes! It's like hiking through Zion the Narrows. Drive through the "Avenue of the Giants" and Also visit "Jedediah Smith Redwoods" while you're out here. All the magnificent tall trees is just incredible. I look forward to your road trip to the west cost :)
Great recommendations! Thank you so much! We have been itching to get back out west and can’t wait!
