I grew up with the Bee Gees, & you have no idea how happy it makes me, to see the younger generation discover the music we fell in love with!!! Barry Gibb, in my opinion, has the best falsetto voice ever, & what makes it so incredible, is that in his falsetto, he also used his vibrato, which is very rare! Thank you so much for this, they were brothers, & Barry is the last one, but please review more of their music, you will not be disappointed, & they span over years, & crossed many genres 😍 I also believe, that if there is music in Heaven, it would sound like the Bee Gee's ❤️❤️❤️

Maurice died at the age of 53 in in 2003 from complications of a twisted intestine. There was a forth brother, the youngest, Andy, who also had a professional singing career. He, too, has passed. He died in 1988 at the age of 30 from myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart resulting of years of having abused cocaine.

I have to tell you I went searching for a reactor to this song too much heaven. It’s my favorite bee gees song. And, you didn’t disappoint with your genuine smile and surprise at The Bee Gees. The things that made this song was Barry the brother in the middle had the idea for them all to sing in falsetto. Then there was their vibrato that from the beginning of the song that was in sync. With all three voices doing that at the same time it was magic. Middle brother Barry was 14 and the twins robin and Maurice were about 10 years old when they formed in the 50’s. About the time of this song. Disco had died. The queen of disco Donna Summers was losing her popularity. John travolta was making the the dance movie Saturday night fever. The artist was who’s song they were going to use in the movie would not let them use his song. They had already filmed and edited the movie for that song. The Bee Gees were almost through with their album. The music director found out about it and went to The Bee Gees to hear the album. You have to understand the times. The big sports arena and the macho fans were booing disco music if it was played during the games so they stopped playing. Like I said disco was dead. The movie came out with The Bee Gees playing the soundtrack for the movie disco song and John doing very new choreographed dancing he created with a dance coach. People lined around the block at the movie theaters to see this movie. The movie became a blockbuster grossing over $100,000,000. It was a new term. Suddenly the discos opened back up and The Bee Gees music was playing everywhere and the dancers were doing Johns moves from the movie on the dance floors. This is how The Bee Gees brought disco back much to the anger of the macho sports guys.

The Bee Gees, God's gift to the world, fantastic performance of one of the best love songs ever written. Three very talented brothers, who sold over 120 million records worldwide, it's easy to see why......:-) There were four Gibb brothers all talented artists and song writers. Barry is the brother in the middle and a most prolific song writer of so many famous hit records.

      But they identify as an Australian group as formed here as a group after they moved here and emigrated to Australia as kids. See below;
In August 1958, the Gibb family, including older sister Lesley and infant brother Andy (born in March 1958), emigrated to Australia and settled in Redcliffe, Queensland, just north-east of Brisbane. The young brothers began performing to raise pocket money. Speedway promoter and driver Bill Goode, who had hired the brothers to entertain the crowd at the Redcliffe Speedway in 1960, introduced them to Brisbane radio-presenter jockey Bill Gates. The crowd at the speedway would throw money onto the track for the boys, who generally performed during the interval of meetings (usually on the back of a truck that drove around the track) and, in a deal with Goode, any money they collected from the crowd they were allowed to keep. Gates named the group the "BGs" (later changed to "Bee Gees") after his, Goode's and Barry Gibb's initials. The name was not specifically a reference to "Brothers Gibb", despite popular belief.
During the next few years, they began working regularly at resorts on the Queensland coast. Through his songwriting, Barry sparked the interest of Australian star Col Joye, who helped the brothers get a recording deal in 1963 with Festival Records subsidiary Leedon Records under the name "Bee Gees". The three released two or three singles a year, while Barry supplied additional songs to other Australian artists. In 1962 the Bee Gees were chosen as the supporting act for Chubby Checker's concert at the Sydney Stadium.
From 1963 to 1966, the Gibb family lived at 171 Bunnerong Road, Maroubra, in Sydney.Just prior to his death, Robin Gibb recorded the song "Sydney" about the brothers' experience of living in that city. It was released on his posthumous album 50 St. Catherine's Drive. The house was demolished in 2016.
A minor hit in 1965, "Wine and Women", led to the group's first LP, The Bee Gees Sing and Play 14 Barry Gibb Songs. By 1966 Festival Records. Festival the Australian distribution rights to the group's recordings.Through Kipner the Bee Gees met engineer-producer, Ossie Byrne, who produced (or co-produced with Kipner) many of the earlier Spin recordings, most of which were cut at his own small, self-built St Clair Studio in the Sydney suburb of Hurstville. Byrne gave the Gibb brothers virtually unlimited access to St Clair Studio over a period of several months in mid-1966. The group later acknowledged that this enabled them to greatly improve their skills as recording artists. During this productive time they recorded a large batch of original material-including the song that became their first major hit, "Spicks and Specks" (on which Byrne played the trumpet coda)-as well as cover versions of current hits by overseas acts such as the Beatles. They regularly collaborated with other local musicians, including members of beat band Steve & The Board, led by Steve Kipner, Nat's teenage son. In January 1967, the Gibbs learned that Go-Set, Australia's most popular and influential music newspaper, had declared "Spicks and Specks" the "Best Single of the Year".

Love, love, love the Bee Gees. I am a black female, 67 yrs old, grew up with them. (A bit lengthy, but a must read.) The Bees Gees: (from left to right) Robin, Barry and Maurice (pronounced Morris) Maurice (Dec 22, 1949 - Jan. 12, 2003.) Robin (Dec. 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012.) Maurice and Robin were fraternal twins. Barry (the middle) said, 'I'm the last man standing.' He will be 76 on September 1, 2022, which is also the 52nd wedding anniversary with Linda. They have 5 adult children and 7 grandchildren. Barry's voice is a bit more mellow since he is older, but he continues to perform to sellout crowds!! Andy Gibb, the youngest brother, had his own successful career. He was 12 yrs younger than Barry. He and Barry looked so much alike, that they could had been twins! Andy passed away in 1988, at the age of 30. Barry stated that Andy lived the 'LA lifestyle' involving drugs, and he had heart problems. The brothers wrote all of his songs. On a side note, the first born is their sister, Lesley, who turned 78, January 12, 2022. Maurice passed on the same day as her 58th birthday. 😪Lesley didn't have an interest to be in the limelight, but she can sing. They wrote all of their songs, (except for one, which was written by another 60s singer) and songs for other singers, which they recorded after the songs were released for the other singers. The brothers have a VERY IMPRESSIVE catalogue of songs! You may have already listened to the following. I recommend the following songs: (I know it's a lot of songs, but I think you'll like them) How Deep Is Your Love? th-cam.com/video/XpqqjU7u5Yc/w-d-xo.html Staying Alive th-cam.com/video/fNFzfwLM72c/w-d-xo.html Night Fever th-cam.com/video/SkypZuY6ZvA/w-d-xo.html Closer Than Close th-cam.com/video/m6XIdjEHLRs/w-d-xo.html One th-cam.com/video/KRUeMgzOCCo/w-d-xo.html You Win Again th-cam.com/video/KZY9oYSSjFI/w-d-xo.html Spirits (Having Flown) th-cam.com/video/WWBFpoErDCM/w-d-xo.html Bodyguard th-cam.com/video/Fx5XwIKCs3o/w-d-xo.html Emotion (Destiny's Child did a cover on this, but IMO Samantha Sang (original) is MUCH better. th-cam.com/video/b_wTZjo9azk/w-d-xo.html Barry said he liked it. I guess so. He's getting the royalties. (That's my thought) At one time 5 of their songs were in the top 10. Another time, four of the songs that were written by them for others were in the top 5. A song that Barry wrote for Andy was #2, but then it went to #1, and the Bee Gees song became #2. When Barry was about 18 months, he reached onto a table and a pot of hot tea spilled on his chest and arms. You can see light blotches and his chest is shiny. His mother said he almost died and would not talk for almost 2 years. Enjoy the songs

They have 22 albums full of beautiful music for you to discover. :)
Like the Jacksons they started as children and made music together for decades. They didn't do anything else.
Barry Gibb (in the middle), Robin Gibb (no beard), and Maurice Gibb (pronounced Morris). Robin and Maurice were twins. Barry, the oldest, is the only one still living. He released an album a few years ago with his children since his brothers have passed.
They had a younger brother named Andy Gibb who had a successful singing career. He looked and sounded a lot like Barry.

Onyin, you've just discovered one of the most successful groups in history. They were the #1 group during the Disco era, churning out #1 song after #1 song. Afterwards they kept on writing #1 songs for other artists. They are shockingly talented, writing, producing and singing their own songs. If you watch the movie Saturday Night Fever about the Disco era (with John Travolta), the whole sound track is their songs!

Hands down best vocal and probably song writing band ever! Yes I know about the Beatles and really don’t like to compare them though they are a good comparison! Growing up and starting to experience music was the late 70’s, 80’s and I thought Barry was it! No way after listening to just about everything I could find and they couldn’t have done it with all of them. I love them, God bless Mo and Robin, you’ll never hear another voice like it, long live Barry. (Let me know if he’s touring this year) ;) Watch One Night Only with the BeeGees. 2007 I believe.

I loved your reaction! You are right, they do make it look completely effortless, like they just open their mouths and music flows out. Being brothers is probably the reason they blend together so well. This song was released in 1978, the year I met my husband. So long ago. I was 17 and still in high school.... It is sad that Barry, the center singer, is the only one of the 4 brothers left alive now. The twins, Robin and Maurice (pronounced Morris) died 9 years apart. Tragically, the youngest brother, Andy, who had a solo career, died in 1988 at age 30.Try a reaction to "Closer Than Close" from the 1997 One Night Only concert. Maurice sings the lead vocal, which is rare. "Alone" is another one which comes to mind.... Men were envious of Barry's hair.

There is so much music to listen to that will blow your mind from this era. We've lost this kind of bonding. Its sad to think the younger want to find all the negative about people that don't think exactly like someone else. I love this concept of this lady's expression of hearing songs like this one. Nobody gets enough love any more.

I understand how you can be so surprised with today's artists using auto tune and twerking. To see three brothers calmly making amazing music seems crazy now. Remember they had been making music together for many years, so it was normal for them. One more amazing thing is that they donated all the royalties from the sale of this song to UNICEF!

And if you think that song was good I would dare to say they have 30 or more songs just like it or better you won't believe it until you dig up the library of songs they have find their greatest hits album and you will never stop listening to to it you owe it to yourself get the albums and play them..

The lead singer is the eldest brother Barry Gibb. The one to his left with the beard is Maurice Gibb (d). He was once married to Lulu. The other brother (without facial hair) is Robin Gibb (d). Their younger brother Andy Gibb (d) died at age 30 of a viral infection. He wasn't a member of the Bee Gees but was a great performer in his own right. They also had a sister, Lesley, who didn't become a performer and lives in New South Wales, Australia. The Gibb family who were all born in the UK moved to Australia in 1958.

There is on TH-cam the story of the BeeGees. It is so amazing!! You will LOVE IT!! The one in the middle is Barry. The other two are his younger fraternal twin brothers. To the left of Barry is Robin, the other is Maurice.
They can neither read nor write music. All the proceeds from this song go to charity. They are the most HUMBLE, GENTILE people!! They do all their own music, and have done over 1,000 songs in their career. Other songs of theirs to listen to are "You Win Again", and the ballad
    "For Whom the Bell Tolls".

They were from Australia. And were brothers that could harmonize there voices so beautifully. And I later found out that Barry there lead singer was in so much pain in his back while he preformed for everyone. They had worked for year's to make it in the music business that Barry didn't want to let his fan's down so he endure the pain. They were so talented and to Me that. said so much.

When these old songs first came out, they were great and I really enjoyed them. I remember having to stop what I was doing whenever this song came on the radio, just to listen and appreciate it. But what's interesting is that since most of their songs were huge hits at the time, they got played on the radio a lot, to the point where I think, on some level, we kind of forgot how special and unique their voices were and we took them for granted a little bit. I mean, I still loved their music and would stop and listen every time on of their songs came on, but I think there were also some who came to think of it as background music, just because they heard their songs so often. Seeing younger people listen to them for the first time, reminds me how amazing they really were. Plus, a lot of people I knew at the time just hated any kind of disco music and made fun of it, so I feel a little justified in my love for it, seeing younger people appreciate it. Thanks for a great reaction!

I think in "my day", when the Bee Gees were actually on the charts, they were very well received and liked. But, at the same time, the beauty of their voices, as males, were kind of just "taken for granted". Not by all, but to a degree.
Whereas, now, today, we can appreciate that authentic talent in today's society.
