currently starting to hoard digital cameras because I think it's gonna be the next "film" like photo movement, I love my 2010 cybershot, I'm currently ordering a GRD III
I completely understand. I currently am stuck on stupid when it comes to Olympus. I have 5 now that I rotate in use from the film version to digital. I cannot stop from buying a good deal on an Olympus. I do own a Nikon, Canon, and Fiji - all of them sit on the shelf most of the time. Older Olympus camera photography is my first love.
Got mine 3 months ago, it's a combine purchase with Olympus E-500. The ergonomic feels great with the solid build and all those buttons. The UI is inline with their DSLRs (I have E-300/E-500) makes it easy to adapt. The color in good light is proper and it's a good fun to carry around everyday. It's a pity that Olympus didn't give the f1.8 lens after 4040(I had one, but finding a working SM card and the slow UI is really not much fun to use).
@@shutterslaps4938 E300 is really a good deal to get now, I got mine with a kit 40-150, shipping from Japan to Taiwan and it costs only around 65USD. The unit I got only gave around 2000 shutter counts! I paid another 15-20 to get new battery and charger from Taobao and I’m good to go. Even with kit lens the image quality is good, 2x crop makes it easy to shoot long range which I can use my other camera for wider angle dots shots. The color by default is a bit yellow-ish (kinda retro feeling) but once you get color temperature set the color is just very vivid and bright. Plus the very special body design hmmm
Great video! Always on the look out for hidden dare I say vintage digital cameras, I have several from the early 2000s and I think they are still fun to use!
I have one! I bought it new; we used it as an office camera back in the day (we're architects), in those days phone cameras weren't so good, it got forgotten as phone upgrades made it a clumsy addition to have to take with you, as my phones got better, the Huawei P40 Pro I use has Leica lenses. I chose it for its wide-angle capability, which is useful when doing surveys. However, I also used it outside the office for other things. It does good macro shots of bugs, and it also takes good architectural model photos. I have just charged it back up after years of inactivity for my daughter to use to photograph her artwork to go in her digital portfolio, chiefly a it takes good sharp images with an old school lens. I came here to see the clip, as I've forgotten how to use it! :D
Nice video. Just about to get the C8080, I too am into vintage digital cameras, having several in my collection, mainly early Sony like the the R1, F828, F707, H1 and H2. Been looking at early Olympus digital, I have an E20N which takes gorgeous images. It's all in the lenses. Looking forward to your next videos. Regards Rob (UK).
Great video! I have one of these! I also have the follow up C7070 which I liked even more. The Camedia's were awesome cameras. The C2100 UZ is amazing as well.
Had one of these. Got it in 2002. Was extremely happy about it's image quality, and that it would also make videos. How ever, the time from shot to shot was terrible. Never got used to waiting for the ability to fire a second shot. Even with the continuous shooting capability, which was just shooting away around five or so shots within about a second. Then what felt like an eternity to clear the buffer. So, I ended up getting a Canon EOS 350D as soon as I could. But the Olympus 5060 WZ had a good price and delivered great photos. It also had an ok ratio of sharp images due to it's auto-focus. I do not regret giving it away though.
oh men, I love to use old cameras. I love the regulation. It forces me to think twice. It forces me of handling the topic photography more careful. Later on I go to Lightroom and enjoy the wonder of modern software. The result is breathtaking. The final image look so good. The colors are great and the low resolution is never a show-stopper
I just purchased the Olympus c 560 from eBay, based just on your review!!😍 I love how well its made, i also love the fact that you cant accidently turn it on, as the on/ off button is at the side on the mode dial.😄It takes amazing photos inside😁😍I haven't figured out how to stop the photos from being over exposed outside yet!! Also do you know how to get it onto macro mode?😊 A great little review of the Olympus C 560, from 2003 my friend.🙂
я купил c-8080 widezoom в 2021 г. Камера не потеряла актуальности и мне хватает ее возможностей для большинства задач. Я когда-то понял, что DSLR и сменные объективы избыточны для меня.
Casually scrolls past Henri Cartier Bresson lol. When talking about Magnum, his name stands above all others. As far as old digicams, I’ve begun picking up a few older CCD cameras (Nikon P7100, a beast and the great Canon 40D). I’ll keep my eye out for more gems like this Olympus, a camera I used to drool over in CompUSA back in the day.
Great video. I still have and original owner of a C5060 and C4000. I recently retired my C5060 to the display shelf and was replaced with a , wait for it, Olympus PEN Mini (EPM1). Just before retiring, I printed a lovely super A3 (13×19in) for the wall. I totally believe in recycling old digital cameras. Still own and use my E30, too. KB
That’s awesome to hear 👏👏 these old digicams still pack a punch and I’m hooked on them…. EPL 1 you say 🤔 time to jump down another rabbit hole 👏👏 Can I ask, why the Epl1? Why not the Ep1 ?
I can't find details for the smallest apature. F16 F22? I want to shoot this camera and use the spot feature for my medium format film photography. Thanks for the video.
Don’t you find the slowness of the focusing speed a bit awkward?! 😅 and the sound it makes while focusing, omg.. so quirky 🤣 I have a bunch of Camedia mostly the brighter lens (f1.8-2.6) models and those with constant aperture (f2.8). And as well the C5050 C5060 & the ultimate C8080. These 3 have great ergonomics~
How did you get the images imported into your computer? I tried using the disc that came with it but my Mac doesn’t support it anymore as it is too new. Are there any work arounds?
I've been admiring the output from this camera for a while now but cant wrap my head (or hands) around the form factor. Anybody have a svelte alternative from inside or outside the Olympus camp?
