In this video titled EU4 A to Z - They Said It's IMPOSSIBLE TO WIN As RAGUSA I play as Ragusa in Europa Universalis 4 1.37 Winds of Change. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of Ragusa and I attempt to get he achievement With A Little Help where you need to guarantee The Ottomans and lead a trade league with 5 nations in it. @@MilanMilan0000 On the Speed5 game show Masters of Universalis that that RedHawk and Laith hosted, they regularly joked about "not getting fired". Speed5 closed up, but now RedHawk and Laith are doing their own to replace Masters. It starts tomorrow.

6k hours and I've *never* seen France expand into Austria like that. How cow, 1.37 is absolutely wild.
I think it has more to do with the DLC where they frequently get Naples under PU, and they also have new missions which give them cool stuff. I don't have the DLC and it's just good old France that collapses when you ally them, and gets strong when you don't.
When you play Ragusa, France expand into Ragusa.

They pretend the AI isn't geared toward destroying the player but it is. Unless it's your ally then it just deliberately goes bankrupt.

Note for Hawk: Never trust the description of an achievement for knowing what to do. Wordings are just too inconsistent. Always check the actual conditions, which, in this case, doesn't include being Ragusa.
Also, the revolutionaries in Corfu are because it was a republic, fell to being a dictator because of low tradition, and revolutionaries came back to restore the republic.

I just noticed Hawk might have accidentally skipped two nations with unique ideas in Mesoamerica. Both Purepecha and Kiche got unique ideas and since he played Aztecs in season A that shows he's not banned the region from being played.
Ryazan has a horse in its flag. Horses like steppes and grasslands. They like to run! Therefore, the only logical thing to do is to conquer everything until you reach Ming. A nice pasture for horses. No border Gore, please !

My recommendation for the achievement is don’t go annexing OPM in your trade nodes if you are playing a trade league game, as increasing the size of your trade league basically increases your money and force limit (playing mercenaries is doable) Edit: also create trade cities , like you can create one per trade node, plying tall while unifying Italy (your Italian culture after all) is the way to go. As the ridiculous dev is gonna make you unbeatable, also you should have waited until 1600 hundreds when they get too weak (if they are way too large the AI can’t handle the decadence, if they are not large enough they armies suck by then
So... Laith and Hawk have *finally* been seen in the same room at the same time. Many conspiracy theories are about to go "the way to dusty death".

As Ryazan, have Ramazan as a subject
As Ryukyu own these three mountains: Mt. Fuji, Mt. Everest and Mt. Paektu
As Scotland, make England not exist (obviously), colonise Nova Scotia and Panama, and spawn Manufactories because Scotland has a big role in the Industrial Revolution
As Serbia, convert all Serbian culture provinces to Sorbian
As Switzerland, be the real Swiss Guard by allying and guaranteeing the Papal States and make sure they never lose a war
As Tlemcen, own Moscow because Hayreddin Barbarossa/Operation Barbarossa
As Tunis, do whatever you think will annoy Laith the most
As Tyrone, convert all English and Scottish culture provinces to Irish
As Ulster, form the Netherlands and go Protestant because William of Orange
As Uzbek, form the worst formable nation and make it so no hordes exist
As Vijayanagar, the “City of Victory”, win a war against all the big Indian states at once
But the worst formable nation is Greece. Bad ideas, no missions, no flavor, and can't form Byzantium.
@@napalmblaziken Bukhara is worse because it ruins your nation from an OP horde to a generic monarchy with worse ideas. The only way to go back to being a horde at that point is to form Tibet, do their mission tree and flip to Khalkha.
@@TheFraps1 But you have a way out if you hate it. When you form Greece, there's no going back. Used to be, Greece was just a stepping stone to Byzantium, but it can't do that anymore.
@@napalmblaziken You can tag switch to something else first, for example Bulgaria would be the easiest or you could do some meme stuff like Hungary or Georgia, and THEN form Byzantium.

I got the achievement on the second try. In the first, I blew up venice and milan, then got cocky and started a war with giga-Spain in 1520 that I just didn't have the numbers for. Don't do that, and you should be fine.
Surprising that Ottomans and France did not ally each other, I think for opening you need to no cb Byz before ottos get them.
Hey Hawk, I think I found a crazy interesting strat for Holland>Netherlands
Have you ever thought about getting the BI as them? If you get strong enough independence support you can actually get released and ally them as soon as January 1445
It involves a bit of savescumming the start, France cannot rival Burgundy, as they do switch the rivalry onto them almost immediately, this can give you up to 5 supporters and will threaten Burgundy enough to let you go
After that you just conquer Utrecht, Gelre, Friesland and East Frisia and wait for BI to fire

Ramazan has pretty good ideas for not being unique.. I thought they were next, but they are one of the nations paradox avoided giving any flavour.

@@Podzhagitel yeah normally pouncing on naples when their free as any nation is a good idea good provinences and cause theire are on the bottom of italy not many will be mad. Sadly naples never has a good game so many nations with PUs on them and their pretty weak if not played by a player, same goes for milan.

Alright, look guys, i got this achievement on my first run, here’s what you want to do as your opening moves:
1. Focus on mil, send trade ships on the Genoa and Venice nodes to be able to invite Italian OPM’s into your trade league. Focus on the ones with trade centers and estuaries as this will make them give a piece of their trade to you, send merchants to collect, do the same with OPM's in the highest value nodes with your third merchant since you already collect on your home node by default. To invite them into the league the fastest way possible, get the diplo rep advisor and the religious diplomats privilege, then get a free company, or simply ally them first. I promise you, by doing this you’ll be able to afford 3 level 1 advisors right off the bat.
2. Show Strength on Herzegovina, you'll need that power projection and those sweet power poin-oh nice bosnia just ate them up after you won the war, tech up so you can destroy both the Bosnians and the Serbs in one war, fully annex them.
3. Now comes the fun part, you’re big enough and are now able to ally someone big, ally the rivals of the Ottomans, the ideal scenario is you having reached this point fast enough that you can ally the Mameluks too since this will force the Turdks to split their forces, don’t get too greedy if you can’t decisively beat them at first, piece by piece you'll weaken them, eventually they will pose no threat to you and you’ll be able to guarantee them and get the achievement.

Declaring on Ottomans with 5 ships in total was delusional. Never declare on Ottomans without a navy.

My Ragusa run was just a piece of cake. I formed Dalmatia, allied the otto, ate the whole Italy, Hungary, the south of Ruthenia and a bit of Tunisia, got the whole Bulgaria diplomatically and only then killed the huge otto easily🙂
