Ugh that festival tent scene is a painful reminder for musicians
Emotionally painful my friend. Every musician knows the feeling of playing in a small tent to four or five people
Jordan Hedington I never saw that to be painful, someone is listening to you
Marc Forte ok well that’s good for you man
@@marcforte7449 Aks any musician, it affects their egos. But I always tell them to perform as if they were in an arena, you never know who would be listening among those few.
I am not a musician but could easily understand how painful that would be.
As a musician and songwriter...this hits home.
Since the first time i watched this movie.. Lily's line "miracles happens.." with her tone and accent, always be my motivation on everything since then
So on the accident he actually died, went to heaven to live his dream.

Don't blame me, blame my wife. That's what she said to me at the end of the movie.
Is it really his dream if he’s getting famous singing other people’s songs?
Trathaal well technically in that universe they are his songs he technically wrote them because the Beatles were never formed and John and Paul never wrote them in the first place so I think it could totally be his dream to write some of the best songs ever written.
The guy in the squirrel costume gave Jack, the finger. And later in the film during the scene with Carry that Weight playing, we see that dude again with a sign saying that he knew him before he was famous.
Wow, I didn't even notice.
What if the Beatles went through exactly what this guy went through?
That’s a high thought
They did
I am happy to be the 69th like
@@AB-mt9nf No, the Beatles
And they got all their ideas from the ladybugs!!
And just like that, The Beatles, Cigarettes, Coca Cola, Harry Potter, And Oasis we’re cleared from the history books.
Don’t you get the joke? Without the Beatles there would be no oasis 😂 they literally copy the Beatles
James McCarthy - Yes I’m aware of the joke.
HUNT the TRUTH ok was just letting you know 👍🏼
I think it’s an Endgame reference. THANOS.
James McCarthy actually they pay homage. There’s a difference.
The song, when he is on his bike: strawberry fields forever (The organ is definitely sampled by universal itself)
But the end of the song a day in the life when he crashed with the bus is also be played I think 😋
I heard A Day in the Life too!
Sonic did really hurt people while he wiped all the power out in the world
The way they wrote his original songs is pretty smart, there simple yet somewhat catchy but, they don’t stand out witch is exactly where we find our protagonist in the beginning hes not playing bad songs they just don’t move you like a Beatles song, it’s just good writing
“Rock this Road” needs a kickass guitar solo
Y know what's weird -- England was hit by a National Grid power cut on Aug 15th 2019. I now see the power cut scene (8:15) as a magical prediction. Great film.
I like the way the music leading up to and including the accident is the ending of A Day In The Life. Cool move.
Bingham Guevara was it?
Bingham Guevara do you still know what’s a noklee every body thinks I’m crazy
Cameron Tilley yeah. Before Paul’s part and after the last verse. Same buildup
I didnt notice any power cut?
I always thought he went into a coma at that point, and everything was his imagination. Him finally living his musical dream and getting with Ellie.
08:12 he says, " you should be careful about laundry" in japanese.
Plot twist - There's another dimension where he wrote all the songs, and the film Yesterday is when John Lennon gets hit by a bus and remembers all the songs Jack wrote ;-)
"Yesterday": A celebration of Buskers and singer-songwriters who know a thing or two about music that Music Biz executives don't.
What sucks about missing a movie scene is that you can’t really experience it for the first time after that. Last night, I went to get seconds and missed the blackout scene. XD
8:25 Isekai god truck-kun now turned bus-kun is in UK,and Now approaching for his target...
Nice movie, imposible imagine one world without The Beatles.
It would be wonderful.
@eljay5009 I understand that.
I’ve noticed how more and more I’ve watched this film at home since I saw it at the cinema it gets better and you understand more as you get older and I’ve grown older since then from when I first saw it and it makes you understand more about the story as you grow up and get older.
An experience all British people can relate to: getting run over by the 46 to Lowestoft.
I love this movie, and I understand why it was so popular--but people need to understand that it could ONLY have been this popular in a world where most movie-goers weren't born yet when the Beatles were still around.
As someone who was born the year after the Beatles came to the US, I don't remember them when they were popular, but I DO remember growing up to their music, and loving it, and I was tremendously influenced by their solo careers. I share a birthday with John Lennon (He was 25 years older than me), and the day he died, I felt like I'd lost a brother...
I think people who grew up with the Beatles see this movie with the same mindset as Jack, Liz and Leo, and anyone born after about 1980 is everyone else in the movie's "alternative reality". I mean, I really LOVE this movie, but I think the concept hits a LOT harder for people who actually grew up on the Beatles, and the incomperable impact and influence they had on the world is kind of lost on many of the younger generations who had their own "superstars" and weren't around to see how the Beatles really DID turn the world of pop music on it's ear...
I don't think it was widely appreciated. But I wish it does, I think Its really rare to see movies like this one.
Bro I was born after 2000 and I love the Beatles
I also think that if you are a musician, it hits harder
@@guineapigdance3338 it more than tripled its budget on box office returns, including marketing costs. it was pretty successful
A great film. I just wish the song HELP had been sung as a slow ballad. John Lennon said his original version was sung too fast and didn't match the lyrics.
"When I was young....and so much younger than today....
So it's like a real-life "Remember Me" from _Coco_ .
(Not to be confused with Paul's "Martha My Dear"!)
Funny how the whole world was nighttime simulatiously. Hmmm
It wasn't. We just saw the sure the UK is on, lol
@@althealligator1467 I saw Russia America, Japan and Europe so.....
I think it's plausible, if it's 12 AM in the UK, the sun would be rising on eastern Russia, and in eastern Brazil it's 7 PM (the only part of America we see with lights on). From Japan you only see a TV studio, which will use lights even at daytime. The only problem I see is at first the Earth can't be rotating so fast, so we should see the sun slowly approaching since the camera is moving.
@@fernandomartin4141 my man! Well done.
It’s was Europe that was mainly shown outside which would have been night and Russia wasn’t in a clear scene and places in further places were inside

‘Please be careful of your laundries’ ‘true’
seems to be rainy in Japan
It means please be careful for now.
"You alright mate"
That's not how night works... come on movie producers ever heard of time zones?
Yesterday takes place on Flat Earth.
It was an eclipse by planet Nibiru
Guess it never crossed their minds.

Didn't we just see things that are on the UK's side of the world?
Now I kinda wanna watch the movie again
The Beatles songs are always great. Even lots of the covers are great. They are truly much more talented than most artists around today.
You could’ve just complimented the Beatles without belittling everyone else
“ … more talented than MOST artists around today.”
Did you say “most”? How about “ANY”?
@@jaco7675 That's true. Their song writing ability sets them apart.
@@jaco7675 U2 is a more talented band that is still around. But that is it.
@@brianstolt3141no way bro just said that
That bike accident supposed to be like Paul’s moped accident?
Kevin T. Landry Sorry but I don’t believe A Day in the Life is about Julia Lennon. What reference do you have for that?
@@jasonb68754 No it's about john Lennon's friend who died in a car accident when he didnt notice the light had change. In fact he swerved the car to his side to save his girlfriend is what people say happened
Grant Petersen No it wasn’t about John Lennon’s friend either. It was news that John read in the paper . Thats been communicated in multiple biographies as well as wikipedia. No friend death inspired the song. Reference your source if you believe otherwise.
@@jasonb68754 Since it's from wikipedia who knows if it can be trusted but if you google the lyric " He blew his mind out in a car". A wiki page pops up about John's friend named tara Browne. I'm not sure if the source is trustworthy. Let me know what you think
no its just supposed to be a bike accident
Lol. That ending is the most typically English thing you'll ever hear. Guy laying in the middle of the road after being hit by a bus - "You alright, mate?"
Classic.
What's with the camerawork on the scene where the manager and the main character talks? Am I the only one who feels something's a bit off there? I noticed it in the theaters and it's grinding my gears rn...
Toran King I think that’s the point, since he feels contained there. He wants to break out of there but can’t.
it’s because they’ve broken the 180 rule. the camera jumps back and forth from each side of the actors and their eye lines don’t match. this may be a creative decision to purposely cause uneasiness, but I’m honestly not sure here
The direction in this film was maddening and as someone who worked with Danny Boyle on a previous film, frankly frustrating since I know first hand that he's a good director
Toran King clusterphobic 😂 It's claustrophobic lol
blueribenaberry I like clusterphobic it works lol
I don't care if it had lost potential this movie was great
I can hear A Day In The Life 8:04
Staedlot 6301 Nice spot, I guess that was very intentional

Jon Dunmore sorry

@@derek-press yeah I was waiting for those last notes to hit I guess not lol
7:38 so did no one notice that this sounds like Strawberry Fields, and the crescendo (starting here 8:03) right before he gets hit sounds like A Day in the Life?
omg i just noticed
Nice touch
Even the closed caption doesn't understand their burned out friend.
This film is about the muse. Most great artists feel like fakes. They know they didn’t really write the masterpieces. They tapped into something beyond themselves. Dylan always looked terrified or embarrassed when he was told what a genius he was. Real music is from the Holy Spirit or whatever name you want to call that ocean of mysterious whence all greatness comes.
As a musician and a visual artist, I totally understand this. When I'm "in the flow", it's like time ceases to exist on the normal level, and I see ideas in my head as fully-formed, finished things, and I hear songs and riffs in my head, as if they were written and perfected already. It is a glorious and transcendent thing, and it sweeps you away into a moment of pure creativity. But it can also be a little disconcerting at times, and it's difficult for other people--especially non-artists--ot understand, or sympathize with...
Pedro Camacho -- And, can you imagine how much more Beautiful the music is there????? We have the best ever classical composers from over 400 years ago and that is it...
But, up there....... Where all music originally comes from....... It will be eternally -- Heavenly --- :)
This is on point bro!
Greatness comes from the ability to write catchy melody and moving words- it comes from the human brain. No where else. Some are good at it and most aren’t. Some are good at golf and some aren’t. Just takes practice and some natural ability. Certainly not the Divine or aliens
It's not about Muse. It's about The Beatles
Right at 8:32-8:33 I want to start singing 🎶Woke up! Fell out of bed! Dragged a comb across my head..... Found my way downstairs and drank a cup.. Looking up, I noticed I was late🎶

And somebody spoke, and I went into a dream....
I learnt the intro in 15 minutes by ear this is really Nice
*This movie is a intensely hard Would You Rather question*
Would you rather..
Have the Beatles be famous, wrote amazing songs, but John and George will not live through
or
The Beatles were not famous, nor did they made any songs, but all the members are alive?
That’s not hard, the Beatles changed the way music lives.

The Great Reset. Global Reset. Great Leap Forward. I'm told Boyle's 2012 Olympics was some sort of foreshadowing too, of future events that were to unfold.
This great movie is on Netflix now. "Hey Dude"
everybody should have their own alternate universe

One of the best movies EVER!!!!!
My personal theory: a wormhole momentarily opened in the universe, which caused the blackout and Jack’s transportation to an alternate universe.
A Day in the Life backwards. Nice.
The film grows on you.
"Bus-kun" did it again
Film says that management is everything and songs are nothing.
Actually management is nothing but implementation is everything
Everyone of us is able to perform “Yesterday” or “Michelle”. But no one can do it like Paul McCartney sung these songs.
Sgt, Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band and John Paul George and Ringo were erased from history in Yesterday.
They weren't erased. They weren't successful and faded from common memory. It happens to people/place/things over time.

You could probably scratch a living if you remember the tune
Does Yesterday Have John Paul and Ringo with Jack Malik
The thing is, he actually had decent songs - but did not have any marketing strategy.
In the modern day everyone has decent song it needs to be different and amazing to get charts
the truth of this story is that he was in a comma and all of this was going through his head
More like a Coma...
