I love these. When he plays Deity: "Hey look, turn 20 and I have 4 wonders and 8 cities!" When I play on Deity: Turn 7, you meet Atilla the Hun, he has tanks and destroys your city.
Yeah it looks nice, and then turns into nothing special, but somehow it's T160 science victory quality land! (I don't do this however, as I did not know how fast the science would be)
You shold try latest version of EUI What do you think about 1st trade route to the AI for + science? Viable strategy? Science/turn numbers are almost like you have babilon planted academy from writeing
The growth early on is more valuable. You can get 4 extra food per turn in the cap, which allows for much better growth. Bigger population = more specialists = more science, as well as the per citizen bonus from Lib/uni. At the end of the day you'll get more value from the increased hammers than a few points in science (which is only about 3-6 early game)
Love your videos! But you play the same way every time with pretty uninteractive games and easiest victory types. Do you think you could try a domination victory before the information era? Do you think you could aim for a fast domination victory?
@@lachie4734 obviously there's truth to what you're saying but it's kind of ironic because that's the point of deity, to be a challenge. He cheeses the game with a tiny empire going for science
I disagree his games are uninteractive. He spends a good enough amount of time engaging with chat while simultaneously not taking away from gameplay. That's a profoundly difficult balance. imo in the early days he engaged too much with chat and that took away from the gameplay. Since then he's improved that balance brilliantly. Although i do agree a little variation could add some great spice to a good channel. Maybe challenges? Complete a Deity game without selling strat resources? Try completing a game without manually changing tile assignments, leave it on default and win with that? Complete a domination game with only melee units or smth? idk

I kinda agree but it's really hard to do that on diety
